okay, the point of the sponge applicator that come with the cushion foundation is to be more portable ALSO they are not like old sponges that soak up all the product. it has very similar texture to the beauty blender. i use these instead of beauty blenders because they are way more affordable and work almost exactly the same. the key to using them is tapping rather than sweeping motions.

+dreamchild no, it is not. The cushion is built in to the compact and one is supposed to use a separate sponge to apply. If the cushion was used, it would become too messy. I know, it seems counterintuitive. Anyway, I love your avatar.

I was in the hospital getting prepared for surgery and the nurse said "hey guys" the woman and her mother in the bed next to me and the women both got offended and said, "you can refer to us as MRS. Last name"'. The nurse was flabbergasted because she just used "guys" to refer to everyone, male and female. I was also like wtf who even thinks of that and thinks that the person saying that is saying it in any other way than just to refer to someone like people say y'all. People are way to sensitive these days.
I guess maybe they found it too informal to someone they don't really know, while Mr. or Mrs. is more formal and professional

+Jami Bunch It's different when a nurse or doctor says it. It's unprofessional. It doesn't matter if the patient was young or old, the nurse should have addressed her as 'ma'am' or 'ms./mrs. last name'. She doesn't work at Forever 21, she works in the medical field.
Michelle Mac agree it's why at work you don't address emails with 'hi' rather you say something more professional. the work environment especially full time work there are expectations of how you behave.

I think that there are a lot of impacts to language, actually. I myself used to always refer to a group of people as "guys," however after hearing out many people and understanding that they don't identify as a man or male, I started using more gender neutral language (everyone, you all). I think language has so many implications, and when people use gender neutral and gender inclusive language, it becomes more of a welcoming place for people who may identify as women (womyn, womxn), genderqueer (gender expansive) and trans.
Eh I think like writing women as womyn it gets a little silly, guys is understood to be a gender neutral term
everyone is included in "guys", no matter their gender identity. I won't be censored by the language police the for fucking sure.

its not small stuff! its actually part of a larger problem. as a culture we tend to generalize one another to one single term.for example if we were referring to a large class of students who are predominantly Caucasian as "Whites", the rest who may be black, Asian, Hispanic, are unacknowledged as they usually are. referring to women as guys simply reinforces male supremesy. its sad that as a Latina dedicated to empowering women you are unwilling or unable to see how that can be offending especially to women who may have real reasons for feeling offended. you should be mindful of the power of words and instead of dismissing that comment and encouraging people to get over it and not listen to the small stuff you should use your platform as a way to change culture within women. you are so small minded by not being able to acknowledge larger problems there are women fighting for these things everyday and I am extremely disappointed by your negativity and lack of empathy to others feelings regarding the issue especially as someone who claims to be dedicated to empowering women. these are real issues and you should try reading about it. there is much more going on outside of UA-cam and makeup!!!

i know im late to this but i just have to point this out. english is not my first language so when i learned english back in school my teacher told me 'guys' can be addressed to a large group of people (men and/or women) not necessarily meant specifically for men. i think the one who felt offended is also not an english speaker (i bet). and who would be offended by such positive greetings that is so weird.

There are actually a looooot of people that are offended by that. I attend UCLA and we tend to say "Hey Y'all," on campus. It was new to me when I first came here and I was just as confused as you! But, some people are sensitive to things because they live a different life (nothing bad), it's not that they are being sensitive to little things, it is just their view on life, so just try to understand where they are coming from Dulce. :)
