As a person born and bred in Australia, I am glad you loved this! It was originally written by Peter Allen in 1980. Who died in 1992, he was such a legend.
It’s one of the best anthems I’ve ever heard. It reminds me and gives the emotion of my own anthem ‘flower of Scotland’ 🥰
@@mral8145 I’ve listened to flower of Scotland before. And I can say it is as equally as amazing and beautiful as this too ! 🏴
@@cinferoMusic you’ve made my heart soar! Here’s to us having some of the best anthems in the world! 🥰
@@mral8145 I’ve been to the UK ages ago. And I’m sad that I didn’t get to visit Scotland, it has such amazing culture and awesome places that I can visit! One of my family members lives near Glascow and I’ve never met them! I’ll have to go there once Covid starts to slow down .
@@cinferoMusic Scotland is beautiful, real and historical, wherever you go. I’m jealous you get to experience it for the first time 😉. I’ve lived in London 20 years, but I automatically feel at home when I go back and visit.
Last time I visited Australia was in 1988 (bicentennial??!), I loved it, I was 7 at the time, but thought it was the promise land 😂
The people in this video, apart from the choir and qantas employees, were:
Kylie Minogue, in London;
Troye Sivan, in LA;
Hugh Jackman, in New York;
Ash Barty, former world women’s no 1 tennis player;
Adam Goodes, retired AFL star, in Sydney (look up what he’s been through!);
Olympic swimmers Ellie Cole & Brontë Campbell, on the Great Barrier Reef;
Bangarra Dance Theatre, an indigenous dance company;
Primary school children from Longreach, the Queensland town where Qantas started.
Hugh Jackman was in Melbourne
Qantas has used this Peter Allen hit song for their commercials for decades Australian born Allen was a Broadway star in America and was married to Liza Minelli Judy Garland's daughter . Every Australian who travells and that's most of us (80% of us hold passports )reaches for the tissues when we hear this song played as we board a Qantas flight home after an overseas trip , do yourself and your subscribers a favour and check out the original song by Peter you won't be disappointed .
We do have a pink lake but they are standing between ponds making pink salt. We have some amazing blue ones in the top of volcanoes in Mt Gambier, blues like you have seen before.
No matter where we travel to the best part is coming home again. Australia has a pull that brings us back.
When they began with the Aboriginese Rene Kulitja, that had me in tears.
The song was written by Peter Allen, successful Australian Broadway performer opining his love of Australia whilst living in the US. Qantas took on the song for its promotional videos and it is updated every few years - same song just different approaches to it. This ad features many people well known to Australians but maybe not so well known to overseas viewers. Qantas is one of the oldest commercial airlines.
it was celebrating its centenary, hence the film in the hanger. Qantas is the 3rd oldest commercial airline in the world, started in 1920.
Early city shots are not Australian. They are scenes of homesick Australians living overseas.
This Qantas ad depicts the quintessential Australia 🇦🇺
QANTAS does another stunning commercial.
Ive just got add respect to Elder Rene Kulitja
It's the best commercial ever!
Australia is Mother Nature at its finest , it can be beautiful and kill you at the same time , respect it and take care of our land 🇦🇺❤️ makes me so proud to be an Aussie
Quick fact: Australia is one of the few places in the world where you can walk for 7 days and not run into another human.
It's also so quiet in one area in the Kimberly Ranges I think, that some days you can't hear an insect or the wind. It can drive you insane if you stand in one spot.
I got this from a television show back in the 90s, possibly Malcolm Douglas or Less Higgins. Someone else will know 😀
The Red Rock is called AYRES ROCK
or Uluru
The beautiful pink lake is called hutt lagoon and it's in Western Australia
Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services
Hi there, Western Australian here. I loved your reaction to this song, but would love you to react to another Australian song, sung by The Seekers, who are an Aussie band from the 60s and 70s. This song tells the story of our country, and how once you're in Australia, this country imprints itself on you, in a way that words can't describe, and explains the events through history that has shaped our nation and made us who we are today. No matter what colour your skin is, what religion you follow, or where your heritage comes from, Once you're living in Australia, you're Australian, and we welcome you into our Australian family. I hope you enjoy the song ua-cam.com/video/KrLTe1_9zso/v-deo.html
Our national use this song for generations been up graded over the years I like the first pne done by ice house shows mostly Australia
The song was written and sung by band called seekers and theirs alot more to the song most Aussie believe it should've been our national anthem but government went with Present day song advance Australia fare
Why Aussie like the seekers song as anthem is it tells the history of how we become Australians and the future
I think you might be mixing it up with "I am Australian" (which was the seekers). "I Still Call Australia Home" was Peter Allen.....
❤
Turn it up, this is lowest sound I've ever heard??? Or not heard lol!
⭐️⭐️
Who's country did we come from England? Yes we are your people with your blood running through our veins.
"you" sent Irish people across the world in chains. Never speak for all Australians again.
@@bens1921 Oh shut up Ben. I'm not responsible for any history. You don't see Aussies whining about being sent to Australia.
@@bens1921 Oh and for the record, I also have Irish blood in me.
That’s a commercial for Australia’s Airline Qantas. Their ads are always spectacular and they always use the song “I still call Australia home”. (Written by the late, great Aussie, Peter Allen.
It features Aussie actors, entertainers and sports people who, no matter where they are, still call Australia home.
Come on down brother! I’ve got cold beer.
It wasn't all Australia, early on I saw shots of London and L.A. and Tokyo mixed in with the shots of Aus.
Nice
Also the first two shots of cities were London and Los Angeles.
I'm Australian and get goosebumps everytime I hear this song esp as my son has been living in the US for almost 2 years
Aussie Aussie Aussie
Oi! Oi! Oi!
I wish people would stop making me do this. I can’t stand to see “Aussie” on its own
🤣🤣✌🏼
@@Reneesillycar74 lmao same
Its an advert for Quantas
Come on over mate ✌✌
Probably the best advertisement ever produced… ever
Such a great song. Beautiful ad
