- A windy day for this flying lesson meant I couldn't do first solo so we got on with advanced training - in this part vertical airspeed descents. Unfortunately the wind was so strong we only did one.
If you are doing a UK PPL(G) you'll know this as "Exercise 6e" which consists of low airspeed descents, vertical descents, and zero airspeed descents. This is the second part.
Aircraft: Magni M16 G-JWNW
Instructor: Andy Jones, Gyrocopter experience Oxford. oxford@gyrocopterexperience.com
Airfield: Chiltern Air Park.
Camera: Go pro Hero 3 black on a chest harness.
Love the sound of the rotor blades swishing through the air👍
Nice one guys, busy doing my PPL (G) too and love doing these exercises. Currently working hard on my landings! :-)
Oric Al Cool, where are you flying?
Flying out of Rochester. Well... when the weather allows... :-(
Why vibration ?
Cayto Catugawa Because the aircraft and specifically the control column are connected to a rotor spinning at 300-400 RPM. And we are strapped in something made of fibreglass to an engine running at 4000 RPM, going through the air with an open-cockpit at 60-70 MPH. And the camera is attached to a not very tight chest harness on me.
