@@baahcusegamer4530I watched only 5 movies after Endgame 1&2: Spider-Man Far Away From Home and Spider-Man No Way Home were imo good and formed a satisfying trilogy, but they were both done by the same creative team that did Spider-Man Homecoming. 3: Guardians of the Galaxy 3: it was imo a satisfying conclusion to the GotG, done by the original creative team as well. 4: Deadpool 3: while the creative team was changed, Ryan Reynolds imo managed to make this movie a bitter sweet goodbye to the Fox-Marvel universe. These are the 4 movies I liked and think were a good decision to watch. The only other MCU movie I watched after Endgame was Shang-Chi, not the worst of the phase 4+ movies, but nonetheless a really disappointing movie that made easy to avoid mistakes like destroying the main villain mid movie. As I have been told, other MCU movies are worse and I feel no interest in watching them in me.

I expect somewhere between The Marvels and Ant-Man 3’s numbers at the box office. I can’t weigh in what FF will do until I see a trailer, and they may want to shift its release to November of 2025 instead of July, so it doesn’t compete with Gunn’s Superman.
They should have given Bucky the shield...Now if that happened in film number four, you would get people cheering at the end of this film. However, no chance that will happen.
Yes it’s like the mcu don’t give a shit about Bucky though. Giving him the shield would’ve allowed the a redemption arc and followed the comics better SINCE HE WAS CAP BEFORE SAM.

Marvel didnt learn its lesson in the mid to late 90s. Oversaturation makes things watered down, less interesting, and ultimately makes your attempts to remain on top look desperate and nonsensical.
Nobody worries about oversaturation of crack. If the movies were really good, people would be clamouring for as much as they could get. But they're garbage. In fact they're garbage so bad we wish they'd stop. That's how terrible things are.
@Mereologist not until they OD on it... that's what oversaturation is. Quality MUST break down the more the quantity increases. It's Chaos Theory. That's why the gaming industry first went belly up. It happened to Star Wars, too. Just too much of a good thing.
If Evans was gonna quit, it only made sense to give it to Bucky. He's a super soldier with the history and values of Steve Rogers. Falcon was fine as Falcon. It would have been right for Bucky's character arc. Everything in Winter Soldier pointed to it.
@calvinjohnstone2664 Sarah Halley Finn, the same woke DEI hire who cast Brie Larson as Captain Marvel in 2018 and pretty much EVERY bad casting decision in the MCU. Don't forget; she also brought in the female Silver Surfer in this movie that's 99% guaranteed to fail with how woke it already is.
I was going to disagree with you, then I realised none of Boll's movies lost money (not talking about ticket sales but total investment) due to his arrangements with subsidies, government and country grants, concise actor contracts and merchandise deals. Yes, sadly Uwe Boll would do better for Disney financially in their movies than the current cohort.
I'm told that the original movie was basically an argument about why someone should shoot Trump. And then someone shot Trump and they decided it was a little on-the-nose and they didn't want to look like the instigators that they totally are.
I noticed my neighbor's recycling bin had a bunch of Coke Zero cans in it, with black Capt. America on it. Another tie-in nobody wanted to wait around for.
Its not a captain america movie. And yed they messed up because 1. they wrecked the character by injecting identity politics, something nobody asked for, they didnt hire competent writers, 3. they ran out of ideas.
To be honest, it’s hard to care. I want marvel to get good again. I don’t like going after it. But I don’t trust Marvel’s current slate. If it isn’t just nostalgia key jangling its stuff like Cap 4. I love superhero media but I have standards. I have gotten crap from friends but I hold my ground My time is limited and I’d rather spend it consuming good stuff. And I have seen good movies this year. Transformers one for example. And to tie it to Cap 4 the fact they’ve reshot this movie multiple times doesn’t inspire me much confidence. Especially given Falcon and the winter soldier being what it was. All in all, I will wait and see.
Falcon and The Winter Soldier 2 looks to be having all the tumultuous production detriments of John Carter. For those unfamiliar, John Carter had an unclear and muddled creative direction from the start, numerous poor test screenings, followed by numerous and expensive reshoots that often ended up getting cancelled out by even more poor test screenings and reshoots, which drove the production costs for an ultimately mediocre movie up so high that the narrow margin of people it appealed to was never going to be large enough to recuperate the costs. Captain Falcon 2 has all those problems, and more. For those also unaware, John Carter (also produced by Disney) is the biggest box office bomb of all time. I am predicting Falcon 2 will bomb even harder than that.
My impression from John Carter was that they were afraid elements of the story wouldn't be accepted by modern audiences and tried too hard to 'fix them'. They botched the name by removing its sci-fi hook and making it absurdly generic, they made the enthusiastic hero brooding and depressed by adding a dead wife, supernatural elements were replaced by vague and unexplained technology, the simple plot was turned into a confusing and overly complex conspiracy, the vivid and fantastical world was given a drab visual style. My favorite part was the Martian 'dog', and its tone clashed with the rest of the movie.
...it can't die fast enough. How many decades do we have to endure only this type of movies that are getting worse and worse and more preachy and more ideological. Blade era and crow era was for this kind of thing. You make some comic book hero movie, that is not limited to rating license, not ideological, not limited to reboots, squeals, big budget corporate suits hanging over your creative decisions etc. Even stuff like 300 and Sin City, and V for Vendetta was experimentation based on comics. But this MCU thing is insane. The only thing good that came out of it, is the VFX tools.
Sales of underfloor heating are 0 as it exists naturally even outside. It's really worth visiting there, but not staying. Too many politicians and celebrities are there.
And that was greenlit under the Bob Chapek era three years ago, had little to no intervention from Bob Iger, and gave Reynolds creative control to veto Kevin Feige's wishes to include She Hulk and Captain Marvel in it. This movie literally had everything working against it and only succeeded because Reynolds rejected as much of modern Disney meddling as possible.
If this movie didnt exist wed have the thunderbolts rn, that looks like a good movie, AND the test screenings were good iirc. This movie is a disaster and shouldve been put down so the thunderbolts could run the show.
100% agree with the video title and I’ve also seen this coming since end 2023.. I believe Disney will start leasing out the properties to other film production companies like Netflix and Amazon. Better for all parties including fans .
Nerdrotic really hit the nail on the head. They bypassed comics that sold in the thousands to film comics that sold in the hundreds. Disney has a definitive record of comics that were highly successful, yet they choose to invest in the losers. I can’t fathom such incompetence at such a high level. The multiverse never ending saga is so lame
It's kinda like ESG but for comics - you ignore the performing main stream, then look for minorities that check a box. They did it with their selection of comics to adapt to the screen and failed in the process.
This movie will be to Marvel Studios what 'Concord' was to Firewalk Studios. Did no one at Disney see any parallels between the movie's production, and that of the Sony PlayStation exclusive that was canceled- with each purchase refunded- DAYS after release?
As much as I hate stakeholder caputalism, it's not just brand damage that Marvel needs to consider when making its business decisions. It's also cultural damage more broadly. The last 5 years of Marvel content have made the world worse. Even if it had made Marvel more profitable, they ought not to have done it.
They need to drop one of the following 1) greed 2) ideology If they choose 2) stop here. If they chose 1) then increase investment in one or more of the following 3) competent & experienced creatives 4) reinstate an approval panel aka MCC 5) develop a slower pipeline of customer / fan focused products. Revenue will go down, profits will go up.
I think what we’re all missing here is Black Panther was originally supposed to be the main figure of the MCU, similar to Tony Stark/Iron Man, moving forward after Endgame. The untimely death of Chadwick Boseman drastically changed the plans of the MCU and I think we would have a very different MCU than what we’ve gotten so far. I’m in agreement with most of your assessment, but I don’t think it’s relating to DEI initiatives. I think it falls solely on bad writing, not having a complete script prepared, and creatives not fully understanding the character. Take the work of Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther for example. He knocked it out of the park because he understood the characters and the story. He was real. He was compassionate. He let you into a world to understand it. Unlike a movie like Captain Marvel, Coolger’s Black Panther wasn’t pretentious but it also didn’t shy away from issues affecting the Black experience. Again, it was real. I don’t think blaming it on DEI initiatives is the problem. I don’t think the problem is Sam Wilson taking up the mantle of Captain America or a She-Hulk character being green-lit. I think the problem was the writing was pretentious, condescending, and also fan boys not being open to challenging their own world views. I think this is a culmination of both sides not listening to one another but rather preaching to each other. I think creatives should listen to the fan boys and fan boys should listen to the creatives and come up with a way to write a story for the characters we love. Coolger did it. It can be done.
It's like the very end of an era when the glory days are long gone but people keep trying to act like things are going great. Major denial. Good God, what a mess.
The major fight scene in the movie isn't gonna be between Red Hulk and Sam. It's gonna be between Red Hulk and that shield, and maybe the suit. Because those two things are gonna be the only ones doing the work since Sam himself isn't superhuman. And even if he was, still remember the time Blonsky tried to fight Hulk one-on-one and got absolutely obliterated via a kick into a tree. Sam has no chance.
The MCU was mortally wounded when they killed Iron Man, and retired the real Captain America. It’s been in it’s death throes ever since, with No Way Home, and Deadpool & Wolverine, being little more than the last gasps, like those provided by a defibrillator, before it metaphorically closes it’s eyes for good.
the mcu is destroyed already. the fact they think BLACK-tain america is a viable movie along with the young avengers tells you the activists are still in charge and nothing anyone wants to see will be made and they will continue to lose millions
The fact that Steve Rogers isn't the original, or the first Captain America anyways blows your logic out the window it was a blk man named Isiah Bradley so sit down, be quiet, and stay home. If this movie doesn't due well only because bigots like you can't handle the truth then that'll let us know what we already know anyways. 😂
It's hilarious that Marvel has limped on for this long. I knew their writing was doomed in 2012 with the way they ended the first Avengers movie, but ESG really gave them immunity from consequences for a long time. The hilarious thing is that they will be totally okay with hemorrhaging money on Captain America 4 if it comes to it. The only issue they're facing is whether or not the new SEC chair will call ESG an anti-competitive scheme and force Marvel to look at shareholder value again. But regardless, no one should pay money to see Marvel/Disney movies, even if their job is to review them. These people hate us.
It’s really too bad. Falcon is a great character and I love Mackie. Seems like an awesome guy and a very good actor! It just seems all a bit too formulaic with the DEI stuff. It just doesn’t work. Basically when the MCU used Marvel stories from Marvel Comics circa 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s it worked well. As soon as they started with the All New Marvel it went STRAIGHT DOWNHILL. It didn’t work in the comics, why would it work in the MCU? And it’s Feige’s team, he’s the captain so the fault goes to him. Disney doesn’t help but for. What everyone said, he has a lot of control. So, it’s his fault.

I stg, it's so funny when they say they will decrease their content output in 2024, but their 2025 slate tells me otherwise. Brave New World, I'm hearing nothing but bad news about it. Thunderbolts, I don't see anything interesting about it other than Bucky going back to winter soldier mode. But hey, At least it's not failing in test screenings even after any reshoots! DDBA, the only thing along with F4 I'm actually optimistic about. Ironheart, this shit's gonna bomb as far as im concerned. Eyes of Wakanda and Wonder Man, I don't rlly see anything interesting about them tbf. EOW feels more like an unnecessary prequel like Black Widow, but that's just my opinion. YFNSM, I'd give it a chance, but the animation looks not that great imo. Marvel zombies, maybe I could give this a chance. Aside from all that, I feel like overall, 2025 is pretty cooked. Aside from some promising outings. They look like they're repeating their phase 4 and 2023 problems with too much content.
"The Mantle Strategy" Otherwise known as the strategy used to market products to children. Why get the plain boring bedsheets when you can get the bedsheets with the Spider-Man logo plastered all over them?
When ever the tools in your toolbox are broken, everything you try to make will be broken too. The only way to fix that is to get new tool that can actually do the job you need them for. Disney has lots of broken tools, their movies and shows will stay broken as long as Disney keeps using those tools, the only way to fix that is to get rid of them and hire new "tools" that know what they are doing.
When Steve Rogers gave his shield to Falcon, it made zero sense. Bucky was his best friend, and they were both super soldiers. Falcon has no powers, just some stupid wings on his back which he will have wear under the shield, so he can't even fly until he first grabs the shield off his back. I hate to say it, but we all know the main reason they didn't pass the Captain America mantle to Bucky is that he is a straight, white male.

Then Kamala fucked up by not paying the Democrat city officials their dues so they didn't print enough fake ballots and Trump swept back into power.

No its not! Deadpool this year man, No way home, Guardians 3
@@baahcusegamer4530I watched only 5 movies after Endgame
1&2: Spider-Man Far Away From Home and Spider-Man No Way Home were imo good and formed a satisfying trilogy, but they were both done by the same creative team that did Spider-Man Homecoming.
They should replace Feige with Ryan Reynolds. I think he has a much better sense of what fans want from the MCU.
Break even? This will be Disneys biggest loss.

I expect somewhere between The Marvels and Ant-Man 3’s numbers at the box office. I can’t weigh in what FF will do until I see a trailer, and they may want to shift its release to November of 2025 instead of July, so it doesn’t compete with Gunn’s Superman.

Yes, sadly Uwe Boll would do better for Disney financially in their movies than the current cohort.

'IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME, MUTHAFUKKA!'
I kind of liked John Carter, I never read the book though....
We have to suffer into MCU Phase 22,
I’m afraid.

And that was greenlit under the Bob Chapek era three years ago, had little to no intervention from Bob Iger, and gave Reynolds creative control to veto Kevin Feige's wishes to include She Hulk and Captain Marvel in it. Bad news for Disney. Will lose $400 mil at the box office. Cap A, Snow White, fantastic 4, etc.
As much as I hate stakeholder caputalism, it's not just brand damage that Marvel needs to consider when making its business decisions. It's also cultural damage more broadly. The last 5 years of Marvel content have made the world worse. Even if it had made Marvel more profitable, they ought not to have done it.
The fall of an empire
They need to drop one of the following 1) greed 2) ideology
If they choose 2) stop here.

There is a reason why many people feel that the MCU ended with Endgame, and projects like this are an example as to why.
they need to bring back the people who know what they're doing & handled quality control along with retconning redoing phase 4 & 5 shows & movies
None of these companies learned from the disaster that was superman 3-4 and batman and robin 97

Basically when the MCU used Marvel stories from Marvel Comics circa 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s it worked well. As soon as they started with the All New Marvel it went STRAIGHT DOWNHILL.
