Today on the Daily News You Can Use, Ray and Zach discuss the latest news on Toyota and how they have shocked the auto industry. Tune in to learn more! - Розваги
The over use of the word shocked is causing me to tune out
UA-cam is full of 'shocking' stories but ray uses the term in a humorous way.
How can you say you tuned out, when you commented on the video?
Absolutely! They should not be shocked!
@@tthom2657Watch how the videos will start going down the drain. Commenting is one thing, but if you don’t like or watch the entire video, that speaks volume!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
The auto makers in the uS have not drastically reduced their prices. They are still ridiculous. They need to be bankrupted by car buyers not buying them period.
I'd blame the dealers once again.. the hard discounts being afforded to dealers to move the metal is still being eaten up by the dealers. Ford dealers still hold onto MSRP on '23 MY F150s...if they didn't sell at 65 grand last year, why would they sell at 65 grand this year?
Again?? That’s the 12th time since January that Toyota shocked us
hahaa i was just thinking that ... i was like is this a new one ... yep, 2 hrs ago! glad someones keeping track
The walls are crashing down! Click our click bait!
😂
Scott Kilmer does the same shit.
always the same content! car market crashing! it's over! don't buy now!
Invoice pricing hides $3-5 k of profit; holdback, floor plan assistance, marketing assistance, promotions on certain models, volume bonus, stair step. money, etc. etc.
I think Jeep Wrangler is holding and hiding money. I refused to buy. They can’t sell and I am not buying. Greediness will get you in trouble.👿
Toyota messes up and still comes up smelling like a rose. Many people have been saying hybrids for a long time. They make way more sense than EV at this point.
I went to a dealer today to check a Mazda 3, out the door no add ons they wanted 15k, I show them what cargurus would pay for the car, 8k, so I offer them 13k I really liked the car. They didn't went down no 1 cent, so they can keep it.
My S Class Mercedes which is off warranty requires $5,000 of "maintenance " on average every year. Oil changes at $400, brake jobs at $3,500, plus odds and ends that they find every the car is in for service. Typical luxury car dealer crap. I will never buy another German car again!!
why anyone would ever pick mercedes over Lexus boggles my mind. Lexus is TOP 4 best in maintenance costs as a brand. Mercedes is second only to GM for most recalls OAT as of like 2 years ago. They've survived solely on being a status symbol and ripping off dumb rich people.
I left the Germans a while back and went Lexus, I am a much happier man with more money in the bank.
3500 for brakes every year? Unless you're driving it like a race car brakes should last 80-100k miles. There's 0 chance I'd ever buy any luxury car other than Japanese.
Do em yourself for like 400 max
Tell us your rich without telling us
Thanks for mentioning Subaru. Never thought I would purchase one. My wife’s lease was up on her 2020 Honda Pilot. We actually received $1500 turning it in. The new Pilot was just coming out with no rebates and we did not need that large of a vehicle. Anyway, went to dealerships, first question to the person walking up to me, “ do you charge over MSRP?” Unfortunately in this market we do blah blah blah. Go to my local Subaru dealer, “ do you charge over MSRP?” We actually charge MSRP or below. ( I’m thinking what ! ) Ended up getting a 2023 Subaru Outback Touring XT $2000 off MSRP put the $1500 down. We love the Subaru
Id rather read more about this. A one hour video is way too much.
Ray, don't let Zach do that to ya. You let him off the hook when he (twice?) stated that "hybrids are cheaper than ICE vehicles" Looking around at national listing prices (ie: Corolla vs Corolla hybrid etc), I don't think that's the case.
Thanks for the Sat. nite show guys.
It's literally impossible. Special transmission, plus electric motor, plus battery.
Hybrids are $10,000 over combustion cars. I was just at a lot of dealerships.
Think about TCO...
We own 21 & 22 Escape SEL hybrids that we bought new. Amazing cars that have been problem free. Got both far below MSRP. Too bad that Ford doesn't make more of them. Thanks for all that you do.
Toyota is the best, that's why I've owned mine since 2002...Kaizen is the way of life...2002 4runner SR5 with 340,000 miles...
All new vehicles having remote kill switches is beyond dystopian.
It's all in the >wink wink< name of stopping auto theft! >wink wink< it would NEVER be used for other, nefarious reasons! >wink wink wink
I just bought a used honda from a big dealer. ( 2 months ago ) i just took the sticker and the plate surround off and didn't worry about it. I have never driven around with the sticker on ( this is first dealer that used a plate surround ) but mostly they are easy to peal off.
My 2014 Lexus RX350 has over 150k miles on it and I’m finally looking for a new RX and want a hybrid. As usual I seem to always want the popular model so I will be watching CarEdge videos to help me thru the buying process. I stick with Lexus because this RX is the 4th Lexus my husband and I have owned and we have driven all of them over 100k miles and they never have caused us any problem especially driving on I-95 from Florida to Pennsylvania and back.
Every car can last 150k miles. That is like holding a car for like 10 years.
Toyotas are not perfect, they just happen to undeniably be one of the "most perfect"! This is due to the fact that they are in it for the real long haul with their "Kaizen" principle and have a certain pride unlike most others that are in it for the quick buck with the latest "shiny new object" 😉
I have more than one recall issue with my Toyota Tacoma. One of them involve pealing paint on the door. I'll go to the dealer sometime this month to see what they are going to do with the paint issue and the others.
I’ve been listening to your channel nonstop! I’m preparing for war this Memorial Day weekend! Thanks for the study!
Barbara is incorrect. Toyota is currently running a 5th generation version of hybrid technology. Toyota in fact invented their own hybrid technology, and all the other manufactures actually license and use older versions of Toyota’s hybrid tech. So Toyota is actually advanced in the current generation they are using above all others.
And how about giving us some more info on subaru & japanese cvt transmissions.
I know exactly why you don’t talk about Subarus much. 😉 There’s not much drama to drive clicks with a Subaru.
I’m a 3 x Subaru owner. My first car was a 1984 Subaru GL hatchback FWD. The main reason I parted with it after 8 years was I bought it in NYS but later moved to NC and it didn’t have A/C and NC is HOT 3/4 of the year 🥵.
My next Subaru was a 1995 Legacy wagon, purchased in NC just before we moved cross country to CA in 1996. The icing on the cake was it was already emission certified for CA, so we did not have to pay a big extra fee to register the car in CA like we had to pay for our 1992 Honda Civic.
That 1995 Subaru Legacy wagon lasted 18 years!
The current 2013 Subaru Outback base model is going strong and only has just over 100K miles. But we are hitting retirement age and only one of us drives now. Plus we are going to relocate cross country to NYSi. The next year, so we are going to substitute the Outback for a new Forester Touring and offer our 2nd car (a repainted 2007 Honda Fit) to our son as an economical, easy to park city car.
Breathalyzer’s have to be calibrated pretty often. It would be like having to get an inspection once a month. The infrastructure would be stupid.
In Alberta we have the most expensive electricity in Canada. The grid can barely handle day to day use.
When I lived there 20 years ago they were one of the cheapest. Something happened to create some type of volatility. Would love to know why. Just checked a graph and it shows rate less than 10 cents per kWh. What rate do you have now? In Nova Scotia rates are regulated and just under 19 cents per kilowatt hour. Going up as always.
In regards to the lease question, skip the dealerships, if you wish to purchase the vehicle, the buyout cost is on the agreement, call the lease company.
I have my third plug-in C-Max. If Ford had improved on that car, they would be in less of a mess today. It averaged 39 mpg in a trip this past week and like the first two has required only normal expenses for tires, brakes, and the 12 volt battery. My son had one of the first Focus hybrids and no major problems in over 1 hundred thousand miles.
Really appreciate you guys 🇺🇸
I’m on my 2nd Avalon. Both were/are extremely reliable. If the time ever comes, and I hope it doesn’t, I’ll buy a third.
The Avalon was discontinued 2 years ago...
@@tylerrynberg Yes, I know. The one I currently own has many years of life left, so that's a bridge I'll cross if and when I have to.
Can you filter these days supply by body style and maybe even models so you can directly compare vehicles you may consider buying/selling?
Was looking at trucks at Team Toyota Langhorne, PA. They list "warranty for life" on many used trucks that aren't even Toyota.
Toyota dealers were the worst when it came to markups. I’d love them to pay now
they really were, and in some locations still are. Look at land cruiser pricing, 80k for a first edition. Folks ....
Yes sir
There's still mark ups in my area on grand highlander's.
they are the ones with the discounts now, i am not sure they were as bad as ford... raptors, broncos, mavericks.... jeeze man where the heck you been? even e-stangs were marked up ffs... now they're PILING UP they had to stop makign them cant even ditch the 23's... THE 23'S they are over a year oild now
Toyota wasnt even top 3 worst. not defending them they were still scummy but Hyundai, Ford and like... Jeep(?) were top 3
I bought a RAV4 Hybrid seven months ago because my research showed that hybrids were the most reliable class of vehicle. Hybrids are more reliable than gas cars, diesel cars, plugin hybrids, electric cars and pickup trucks. I wanted to buy an electric, but reliability pulled me to the hybrid.
Is there a way to purchase a Toyota and bypass the distributors?
Mazda dropped way down on days supply in your chart from a few weeks ago. So glad to see
The "Japanese 4" appear to be very buttoned up in managing their businesses.
Why?
@@cwqrpportable because they make a quality car and it’s nice to see them doing well
@@cbush1018 Cute
Mazda is loving Toyota defectors.
Thank you guys!😊
I own two Subarus and they are great cars. My sister also owns a Subaru. Might not have latest tech but very solid cars.
Toyota's strategy isn't exactly perfect though. Have you seen how long their wait times are on some of their hybrids? Some buyers simply cannot wait a year to get a car.
That's everyone
The big 3 has had over 50+ years to figure out how not to get their ass.s kicked by imports. They continue to fail in so many ways in comparison. Great job Farley and Barra with your 26m and 30m+ salary's.
Blame the Union,
Nah blame Wall Street
@@spiceyfrenchtoast9421Exactly, it’s definitely not the unions folks. The executives and Wall Street are the ones sucking the money out of these companies, not the people actually designing and building the cars. Follow the money, always follow the money. Once Americans wake up and understand this, well….shit# going to be bad for Wall Street and execs of these big companies.
There is no big 3. Stellantis is European. GM is 49% China owned.
Blame genetics and intelligence differences between the races.
Hi guys , i have 2021 explorer and my lease is up this month and my question is can I sale this vehicle to CarMax or carvana ? Instead turn in to dealerships? Thanks
Yes you can!
To bad that Toyota dealers are price gouging their customers and they think that limiting supply is gonna help them in the long run.
Is it more accurate to say that floorplan is an interest only loan (or line of credit) the dealer takes when they buy a car? They make regular interest payments but don't pay the principal until after they sell the car.
@CarEdge I have to correct Ray here on one point when it comes to pre-owned never being warranted by a dealer.
There is certified pre-owned vehicles that will come with a warranty.
Your love and respect for one another just made my day much brighter! ❤
My neighbor just sold us his 2002 Nissan Frontier 2002 4 cylinder 2 door manual with 100320 k with a 3 1/2 inch lift, camper shell, and tow hitch for
$2600. Wow
Dealers aren't budging down on price. Jerks trying to sell used vehicles more than the MSRP for any given year. They can 'eat' the metal
Correct. Let them sit. Let them rot. Tesla cut prices even more. 37k after rebates for Model Y. Try finding me a toyota hybrid with front and rear heated leather seats, leather steering wheel. Tesla's dont work for everyones lifestyle, but most people just commute to work and occasional leisure driving around town.
I have Toyota RAV 4 LE $30.123 minus my military discount of $750 great car.
i highly recommend.
Went looking at a Toyota dealer since wife wanted to see some trims of Highlander and grand highlander. Sales guy driving us around the lot said he could get me at least 10 grand off a new tundra since they had a couple hundred and they did… row after row of them.
Tempting but still want wife to check out a Mazda cx90
I'm in love with Ray. I want Ray to help me with my next car purchase please.
Ford just had a tsb ( very long list) on all the light duty 10 speed transmissions. Not looking good for them. I enjoy your show, keep up the good work!
I don't see much of a discount on ford or Ram in Alabama more on Silverado than Ford or Ram
When I lived in Dothan, Ram seemed to be the biggest seller with FORD just behind it. I am a Chevy guy so I didn't understand why that was.
I don’t understand the shock. They took the middle ground. the middle ground is usually a good compromise for everyone. Stats show it again
Just want to point out that Carmax no longer has 30 days return policy. It's now 10 days starting May 12, 2024.
Chrysler and Dodge has so much inventory they aren't even on the chart.......they are just a footnote. 🤣🤣🤣
Tax incentives for hybrids, rather than EV, would get me in one in a few months. I live in a 2-story apartment where we are many years from having a charging infrastructure. There are 250 units spread out over a 1/2 square mile.
I saw today a chevy 1500 with a loaner car sticker on it.
I cannot find an Escape PHEV anywhere around my area!
Did Jerry used coupon code "Nate" to get that Maverick Hybrid at MSRP?
My Subaru Crosstrek now has oil in the radiator. It turns out, this is a common issue with the Crosstrek
What is your schedule for coming on live ?
Long term economy of resources at engineering, building, service, and repairability in TOYO cars sets 'em up above all❤❤❤
Toyota sold ford a hybrid platform around 2005. Several Escape Hybrids are still on the road.
It’s actually the most reliable.vehicle Ford has built in decades, and now we know why….
Had a 2020 Ford escape hybrid with 135k miles untill I was t boned and just purchased a 23 escape hybrid with 0% interest. Far better purchase than Toyota 5% interest
@@jasonmartin786 Toyota will always be the better purchase, If interest rate is such a big deal then save up and pay cash.
@hokie9910 doesn't matter what I purchase for a car it's done in 6 years for the milage I drive and time to move on
@@jasonmartin786 I drive 30-40k a year and tried the Ford route years ago and gave up, went Toyota and haven’t looked back. Much less downtime and much less repair costs.
Straight up headlines more appreciated
Bmw was onto something with the i3 REX... It's a best value buy right now with 4k government tax rebate.
BMW and value are not words put together in since the 80s. Value must be more worth than one paid, BMW is the antithesis to that.
Actually if you think about it being one of the largest auto manufacturers toyota going all in on hybrids they will reduce more of a carbon footprint collectively than other manufacturers. EV not the only way to go green.
5:50 Speaking nothing but Truth !!!
Toyota might sell a lot of cars these days but their debt is just increasing year on year -- Total debt on the balance sheet as of December 2023 : $240.93 B....making it the most indebted company globally in 2023..which and how many customers have to pay off the interests of that impressive debt....
Toyota is not only a manufacturing and sales company, but also a finance company. Toyota provides loans to car buyers through its subsidiaries. Toyota funds its dealers by borrowing huge amounts of cash in lump sums from banks. Therefore, the more cars it sells, the more debt it incurs. However, the huge amount of trade receivables (loans for car purchases) exceeds the liabilities.
Oh i was just in New Jersey . Time for a Mach E hybrid!
Prices of new vehicles with extra crap only go up in the short term but then reduce the market becuase most people dont want to pay more up fornt and maintenance for something that provides them no value. It would actually probably increase value of older vehicles
Thank You‼️🏁🏆
Tundra or Tacoma? Which one should I purchase.
The seats in the Tacoma I rented for a week were not made for trips over 40 minutes to an hour. Not very comfortable
Elon musk Says if you buy EV he can guarantee you 3 Years of ED😂
A low inventory isn’t necessarily good if they’re not making as many cars.
I think people that bash luxury car maintenance are those that really can’t afford to own the car to begin with. Even a top tier Honda or Toyota will be more expensive to maintain than a “base” model. And Toyota and Honda have had plenty of recalls…..
The talk about mandatory breathalyzer and kill switch has been around for at least a couple of years
Hi from LI, NY 👋
i got a 2024 camry se for 26900 out the door which is about 1000 below invoice
Hard to believe but congrats
@@henryrifleownerpa1813 thanks
Here in Columbia SC I went to jim Hudon Toyota to look at a TRD sport. I left when they told me 62k
Subaru builds a good quality car? Wow. If they do currently with their low performance numbers compared to the competition then great. They had so many known engine issues not that long ago that I wouldn't look at them currently.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm SHOCKED!
52, on May 23rd!
The prices on hybrids for the same model are more expensive than combustion. Am I missing something?
The "future" is not one years sales? Outside of Tesla there aren't many reasonably priced EVs available in Q1'24. As the prices of EV's come down in price their sales will likely take off.
I HATE TOYOTA!!! THEY'RE NOT RIGHT. I say this owning a brand new Grand Highlander. Let me explain...I am absolutely furious that I can not buy a hybrid max, because they don't feel like making them, or delivering them. They blame it on chip supply...get bent...all the other manufacturers have solved the chip problem. I still haven't received my second key for the GH I had to buy after 6 months on a waiting list. Toyota knows exactly what they're doing with supply and demand, and they're going to eventually get me to buy a second new car from them, because I couldn't even get close to the one I actually wanted. I absolutely hate them for it, but it doesn't matter because they're the only manufacturer producing cars, trucks, SUVs, and mini vans that don't suck!!
Car dealers DO car about number plate frames because many dealers RIVET the frame onto the plate making it harder to remove. Douche move
You need to turn on captions
As much as it's shocked, the car industry needs pacemaker. 😂
35% increase with Lincoln?
Not shocked on shocked title😂
ray: you going to trade in the Mini for a toyota?
I don’t get it… It’s OBVIOUS that in large cities across the world there won’t be sufficient electric stations for electric car owners to be able to recharge in a reasonable amount of time if the electric car pool gets to 30% or up…. Unless the battery technology lets you run for 1000 miles on a 10 minute charge time. Even then…
Woah Wes Roth refrence
Seagrams ginger ale come with Seagrams Whiskey?
Love my Toyota Corrolla!
Seagram's is the best ginger ale!
Toyota made me a customer after I bought a 77 Dodge Aspen and it fell apart the day I bought it new.
hybrid by far makes more sense... cheaper to run (total cost of ownership).
Honestly I thought Nissan was first with the Leaf etc.
I'm still waiting for Toyota's " Shocking News ".
Just bought 2012 rx350, they all can keep their pricy new ones
Kellogg ID .
I wish Toyota made a 3/4 ton pick up :/
