  • Okay, so this was is one of the most requested things I get asked to do, but haven’t, until now. To film from the beginning of the mine to the end. That’s hard for a multitude of reasons. Trying to climb over obstructions with camera, medical and gas equipment, that often times requires both hands, as well as just the exhaustion and not being able to focus your attention on safety hazards. Well Mr Tropics 64 and I explored this old abandoned drift mine from the 1890s. Operated by Pratt Consolidated, this coal mine was a very primitive mine, with the primary equipment used being, drills, shovels, mules and pickaxes. This entire mine was hand cut with each piece being removed from within the mountain by hand. This coal mine contains a coal seam that ranges from about 12” upwards to maybe 40” (30-101 centimeters) Our Journey lasted a little over 6 hours, and I was able to film the journey, leaving out the parts where we would backtrack after finding the end of the header. This was a real challenge, so I hope that you all enjoy, and if you do, subscribe, comment, like, share all that good stuff. It really helps the channel grow. Also be sure to check out our other social media accounts, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, user name Underground Birmingham. One last thing, show my buddy Mr Tropics 64 some support and subscribe to him as well.
