before finals CONOR SHERRY TOOK 29/34 one's. HE TOOK 29 freaking ones. Picket fenced both Octos, a quarter and SEMI FINAL!!! I think he had the best scores I have ever seen at NSDA in HI.
I know I might be a little late to the convo but nobody in the history of NSDA, aside from him has taken this many 1’s in a national tournament. I believe he was also a triple ruby member. The fact he liked your comment only proves what you said was right
Speech and Debate are hands down one of the most important and underrepresented classes for young students to take around the world. More adults should also practice these skills to more effectively progress society. Incredible execution, thank you for this share! :)
I’m in my First Year of Forensics and I’m really happy! I did storytelling the 1st meet, then switched to Poetry. I have loved Every meet so far and can’t wait to get better each meet 😌
This is incredibly well performed! The transitions are beautiful and clear, the characterization is perfect, and distinct, as well as having amazing muscle control and perfect voices. Well done!
You know, I looked at those final postings and out of 15 judges only two gave him firsts. This absolutely astonished me, as far as physicality I believe Conor Sherry is the best Humorist ever in the NSDA. Sure he may not be the funniest but god damn he was head and shoulders above every single other person in that final round, You can obviously tell he has dance experience he moves lwith the grace of a professional ballerina on that stage, absolutely magnificent. Bad final round judges (Good thing every round before that he was taking those ones!)
NSDA final round judges are always wack I looked and almost all his scores were top three in finals but ugh the top NSDA leaders are so bias and twisted in who they want to win. Also I think he is objectively the funniest he got the most laughs by far from the audience. The thing is he performs to the crowd, not the judges. I think it doesn't translate on the big stage because the judges are so close up but the performance is much bigger. I saw him in Quarters and of course he destroyed hahaha
I got the honor of being able to watch this performance live! My first year going to nationals, and oh my gravy! You're piece was amazing! Well deserved win, congrats!
wow talk about a rush of nostalgia. I got super close to that final's stage my senior year (2013). I was so passionate about speech and the community of people I met through it. Haven't really even thought about it in a few years until i stumbled upon these finals videos!!
He's the reason i got into humorous interpretation, I never thought that I would be a speech kid, since I was more into debate and have done public forum for 3 years, i didn't like informative, oo, and i hated doing impromptu, after watching his Humorous, i tried it out, and i love it! it's one of my favorite events, and I really want to normalize girls doing humorous, since i usually never see girls doing it. Thanks Conor!😊
WOOOO, CONGRATULATIONS! Legit, I would never have the confidence or even the memory to do something even close to what that was, it was awesome, woohoo
I’ve been doing speech since 6th grade (currently a sophomore in high school) and this year I’m doing HI and duo and this makes me so excited for this seasonnnn!!! I’m SO ready to give it my all and try to get all the way up there😊
Omg I remember seeing this live when I went for njsda. I miss it so much and I'm so sad we can't do it cus of covid.. doing the online njsda/nsda just doesn't feel the same yk. I only went once in 6th grade (njsda 2019) and I was in quarter finals for prose and semi finals for poetry and its one of the most fun unforgettable memories I have.
I did S&D back in freshman year but ended up dropping bc of schedule overlaps, and whenever I watch vids like these, I really wish I stuck to it and now I just feel regret 😭😭 (it’s senior year so it’s a bit late to join again :’))
Is this interpretation based on the film? I thought it had to be a performance interpretation based on a work of literature, not a performance based on a pre-existing performance. I'm not trying to criticize, it was an excellent performance, but I don't understand how it qualifies as literary.
His snaps are so clean. Like it’s unreal
They are called pops you uncultured swine

Also, 31 in finals. 31 1’s in after his final. Finishing ranks were crazy good

Yeah, I prefer John Duncan's script but I believe Connor should have taken him at nietoc as well
the ending got me crying in the club when he won. so talented and well deserved

This is my third year in Speech and Debate and I’m still terrified of it haha.
@Ioannis Marios Fragkos omg same my seasons almost over and i'm really sad
It's my first season and like an idiot I thought, "hey, I'm pretty good at comedic acting. i'll do HI." That was the mistake to end all mistakes.
His reaction was so sweet...
That eye thing though...
After watching him in semis, it was obvious he was taking 1st!

No, it doesnt have to be literature. Ive judge some broadway performances and a film or two. It just has to be any published work.
I hate having to do this assignment
Real tbh
very comedy buoy
