@ we go to the ocean corporation in Houston, and yeah I showed a couple guys the part where you showed the effect of the electrolysis on the older anode it was really cool, can’t wait to get into some stuff like this
Hi, I'm from Canada and I love your content. I have two questions for you. 1. How long did it take you to become an underwater welder? 2. How dangerous is the career? I saw online the mortality rate is 15 percent. Looks like you chose a job that is on the safe side. Thank you for your time.
Awesome, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 1. Dive Academy is about six months. 2. It’s relatively safe nowadays with all of the new technology. Back in the day When they were pioneering the industry, it was pretty sketchy.
Engineers decide all that. They provide detailed blueprints, and then the dive supervisor and engineers guide me via two-way communications and a live video feed on my helmet.
Ben that was amazing! I want to. Know the water temp. I know you have a hot water suit on but still it’s crazy to think you’re in that harbor in the middle of winter!!
It wasn’t a very good rate for all the work I did. I was the only diver on that job, and I single-handedly welded over fifty 60-pound anodes. That’s why we only go to Baltimore nowadays if there’s a good-paying Army Corps or government job.
Great video 🔥
keep it up bro love the content
Thanks! Got more content coming soon.
Congratulations on a well made and informative video
Thank you! The next one will be even better and more informative.
All the best for your UA-cam journey brother😇🙏
Thanks Brother 🙏🏽
Dam this made me want to go to dive school more after the military keep up the vids
Glad to hear that! I’m not stoping anytime soon.
Must be honest; I had no idea anodes were also used for piles and sheet walls ect. Makes sense. Good video!
Thank you, sir! There’s an anode on everything down there. It’s a constant battle against electrolysis in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor!
Yoo! That was a savage video!!! You got some real good looking welds too man.
What a great video! Do you guys get scared down there?
Beastmode
What keeps the anode attached to the piling when you first start the weld, looks like both hands were free
Some anodes I used the small ratchet strap to hold it in place but Most of them I held with one hand and got a tack weld on.
Thanks Ben, next time you and Zach are in town come visit
I know this man irl he’s cool
These vids make me so excited to graduate dive school lol
Glad to hear that! Share it this your buddy’s.
What school are you guys in?

How do you know which pier to fix and in what depth to place the anode ?

Thanks Laurie! Water temperature is in the description. 39° !
Dude, this is so freaking cool. How do you see when you're down there? The visibility at 32 feet looked almost impossible to work through.
Thanks! Inside that last cluster the piles were so close together no light gets in.
Water is clear out in the open. “green clear” haha
Keep it going 💙🫵🏽
Always
Was this a union job or no
No. This wasn’t a union job.
You can tell its non union cause of the 3 man crew with no standby
@ It was a Challenge alone.
How much money did you make on the stupid @$$ dive dude ? 🤔
Millions my friend, Millions! haha
@@workingunderwater You can only make that money if you work for yourself
