I had no idea they put THIS much into the ad campaign. No wonder Bungie earned the love they did. It also explains the live action ad campaigns for Destiny. A shame they went so astray.
A good comparative for 40k or 30k fans would be a Custodes appearing in the campaign you as a mortal infantry man are stuck on a world defending against zenos during the great crusade. Not expecting reinforcements, then all of a sudden. The familiar sound of power weapons and bolt cracks. Then the sound of enemy fire recedes and begins to quiet. His footsteps would be shake the ground.
The reason why no Spartan could be listed as KIA was because there were so few of them and Humanity was being utterly Curbed stamped at every turn that the Military ordered that all dead Spartans were to be listed as MIA so that the soldiers would not lose what little hope they had believing that they were still alive and just out there preforming Guerilla tactics until they can return which makes what ONI did to the Master Chief so much more Horrific and Vile

All I will say, is that dear god this is possibly peak FPS. I played it shortly after release, and it still holds up to this day as far as I'm concerned. Others might surpass in some areas, but only in certain small areas. This is, quite literally, Mythic. I do hope you enjoy. Just don't mind the faces, they were made back in 2007/8, so they haven't aged the best. And we are totally going to get you to play Doom 2016 after you get done with Reach. The music is actually from the annouce trailer for Halo 3, which in and of itself is a partial rearrangement of an ingame track for the end of the first act/half. And I say again, you will delight in it. There is one more CGI trailer you're missing, though. The announcement trailer I mentioned, which sets up some of the deep lore for the game. Yeah! Look up the Halo 3 Announcement trailer, they've even got an 8k upscaled version. That's some Throne-Blessed *HYPE*
I know I'm a bit late, but I'd definitely say that Halo 2 surpasses Halo 3 in the story department. Halo 2's story just has so much more to it, whereas Halo 3's story is more of a mixture of cool set pieces and one-liners that don't always make sense.
Hey, some other things you should also take a look at are the Halo 1 and 2 terminals. They basically are lore animations which you could find and view in game, though you can just look at them on youtube. They should be quite an interesting watch.
Imho Halo 3 was the best game on the xbox 360. I'd constantly go back to it to either play the campaign (solo and with friends) or just fuck around in multiplayer.
That's not why. Having spartans is just so much of a morale boost, that they don't want to hurt that by showing that they're gone. Spartans can turn hopeless battles into victory, that's why they are never KIA.
