Yay for Feuerschwanz! Some background to this - the hurdy gurdy player is Johanna from Feuerschwanz, her main instrument is actually the violin but she occasionally breaks out the hurdy gurdy. So, not Patty Gurdy. Next - Alea from Saltatio Mortis was seriously ill on shooting day and not present. If you look closely, he's not in any shot where you see "all" of them. They shot his scenes at a different location and edited him in later. Hans, the guitarist with the top hat, Jenny, one of the shieldmaidens and Melissa Bonny have a seperate project called The Dark Side of the Moon, and do metal covers of songs from TV shows (GoT), films like Harry Potter and LOTR, and games. Also definitely worth checking out. Thomas Winkler you can fiond as Angus McSix on youtube.
Alea, the singer of Saltatio Mortis actually was in hospital when the video was taken and took his part later at a different ruin (we have literally thousands of those).
With all the guests, this one feels like a real celebration! I'd be interested to see you also try out their sister band, dArtagnan: perhaps _My_ _Love's_ _in_ _Germany_ (ft. Zora Cock of Blackbriar) or _Dem_ _Himmel_ _entgegen_ (which is just them). I think you'd find stuff to talk about in either of those. And speaking of Blackbriar, when are you going to get to them? I'd recommend _My_ _Soul's_ _Demise_ as a starting point.
To stick to the Oktoberfest topic, these videos from Feuerschwanz would fit even more perfect: Methämmer (joke about a secret religion arround mead / alcohol) ua-cam.com/video/GLsHp-lFKVc/v-deo.html Metfest (Mead Party) ua-cam.com/video/N39NXEzDJyE/v-deo.html
I _think_ the fighters in the interlude were actually taken from a German documentary of the 30 years war (or somesuch). Still, Feuerschwanz does great Videos. Not quite as serious as Saltatio Mortis, but always very good. "Das elfte Gebot" is very good, "Ding" (with Melissa Bonny) is insanely funny and would probably also fit Oktoberfest very well. They have some very good covers in English like Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (yes, from ABBA). I think one of their latest Videos was "Valhalla calling". Whatever. My advice would be: If there's a day you do really feel down or sad, and do not know which video to react to: Pick Feuerschwanz. Or if you are in for mor Folkey stuff, pick "D'Artagnen", which is a side project of one of their regular singers.
Die Hörner Hoch, Metfest, so many other songs as well are drinking-themed. Warriors of the World United is a very good song, but not what I would think of for Oktoberfest.
Don't be sorry for being a nerd, I like it! That's what we learn al these nice to know things from 🙂Already knew the song and the video, but still learned a bit more about film making! And you mentioned a BTS that I didn't know, so I'm definitely going to look it up! What you told about the influence of the bright sun sounds very familiar... We have 2 SLR cams and both respond so differently to sunlight... One (1D) is really sensitive, you need to close the aperture as far as possible and still need to go 1 stop under to fix it. The other (7D) is fine with the same aperture... I've always wondered how they can be so different, do you also experience that with other (film)cameras?
Sorry I missed the premiere on that one. The song was originally by Manowar, but they brought in 3 extra singers to make this extra special. Melissa was a little worried about standing on that wall and hoping she didn’t fall off. The band’s non-cover songs are usually in German, and though I don’t understand the language much, I enjoy them. ‘MetFest’ seems very appropriate for Oktoberfest. ‘Das Herz eines Drachen’ is a beautiful slower song with a lot of feeling.
my plans for Oktoberfest are...ignoring it :) for most of germans its just a overblown annoying party with too much alcohol and vomiting....but i love feuerschwanz, since their start :)
The location is a castle ruin called the *Homburg* in a town called Gössenheim in the North of Bavaria. They shot Alea's scenes somewhere else though, I don't know where.
I'm quite late to make an Oktoberfest suggestion. But here goes anyway. Hellscore - DRINK (Pirate Metal Flash Mob A Cappella Alestorm cover) ua-cam.com/video/rycWMvAiWGw/v-deo.html&pp=ygUPaGVsbHNjb3JlIGRyaW5r And I really enjoy the cover, I'll also recommend the original. MANOWAR - Warriors Of The World United (Live) - OFFICIAL VIDEO ua-cam.com/video/G1G9D8A4Fiw/v-deo.html The only thing though, to be completely honest, since they're both filmed lived, there is limited production. So I can't promise how much content they'd give you to comment on. But what do I know? I'm not the professional. Maybe there's much more going on than the average viewer (me) would catch. 😄
Love the OG and this version. The song was ALWAYS associated with parties and just drinking with friends. We played it every time. LOL.

Feuerschwanz is great! I always enjoy their music
Ah, my notification didn't work, but it's in my feed... good old trusty YT.
Makes my want to play Assassin's Creed Valhalla now.
Glad you found it eventually lol!

That's ok Alex! Thanks for watching either way :D It's really a fun exciting song and so cool they brought so many others on board for this one!

it´s called Franconia😇
Im not sure if the fans of Feuerschwanz are the same clients for Oktoberfest😅🙈
The original is by Manowar from their 2002 album of the same name.
