I’ve had MHD on my stage 2 340i for a year. Absolutely no issues, no throttle closures. And it’s been on an OTS map the entire time. Love it!

I've been using MHD OTS +bolt-ons on my m235i for over a year with zero issues. Power band is great and it's such an easy to use software package. The wireless dongle made it so much better.
Great build! This is in general for anyone thinking about it, something to consider when running open filter is intake temps and ram air. My aftermarket box on F30 335i was creating a ram air effect with the vent pulling air right from outside and had top vents for creating a pressure difference. After I took the box off (sounds amazing) I lost some air flow and was getting intake temp warnings when sitting long time at idle since it was sucking in that hot engine air and the box wasn't shielding it. This is why places like Dinan insist on close box design and so does the shop that builds BMW and Porsches near me. Anyway, just food for thought.
Yeah open sounds better but you will be sucking hot air from the engine bay, especially on slow traffic

Yes always pros and cons, maybe if it gets nice and cold during winter in your area then you can get away with open intake for that season only? That way u can enjoy it at least a bit?

I like the video - great idea! I am just a bit sceptival on the smooth bit - you can smooth out the graph in the software depending on your settings. You can make the bm3 graph look the same as the mhd which clearly looks like it has been smoothened more. If not, great job, but looks a bit too perfect. Either way nic power gain :)

I have mhd on my n55 , sent some logs to mhd and pureboost ended up doing custom tune for me for free, my electronic wastegate was doing so strange things being a manual transmission after changing gear, great tuning platform MHD, big thanks to MHD and PUREBOOST from me too they rock
What’s symptoms were you seeing when shifting?

@@123divad right on, so that was the fix but what was the symptom you were feeling? This sounds like a fix to some post shift lag I feel on the n55 6mt! I should ask them to look into my logs in hopes of the same fix!

absolutely love my MHD Stage 2 Plus 95 octane map on the N55, highly recommend it

Good information was trying to decide on what to use to tune my n55 F10 535I and this has push me to MHD.
Good vid with excellent info. One thing I'd like to note here is that the Payn BM3 tune was done over a pretty short time frame (couple of weeks?) all on the street IIRC. The MHD tunes I'm sure have a lot more time and tweaks invested into them on both the street and on the dyno with multiple tuners fine tuning along the way, which is why they are so clean. This is not a knock on either IMO, but a compliment to both for different reasons!
We worked the payn tune on dyno as well as street actually. However, the Mhd tunes have had more time for development for sure. The bootmod3 ots maps however, zero excuse for those. Lol
@@ThicWhips Agreed. I'm still running Stage 1 OTS while waiting for parts and it's pretty bad tbh (jerky). What this video does show is that the OTS maps from BM3 need some serious work.
MHD all day!. I'm currently on stage 2+, ots map, E40 and XHP. I love it. I recommend the set up to everyone with B58's.

Great video this was much needed i have been doing research on this for the past month to decide. I have a 2018 340i and was looking into bootmod3 vs MHD, as my car has a b58 same as the supra would the OTS maps be the same and you recommend MHD?
Well, our engines are both b58s but there are significant performance upgrades in the supras b58. Specifically the fueling. Hpfp in supra is much better. As far as tunes go, I cannot speak from experience because I don’t have a 340. But I have many friends who do that run both platforms and are happy. Really it just comes down to the user preference.

You say not to relock your tune because you will have to do a bench unlock. What if your DME was tuneable from the factory. If you lock the DME do you need to bench unlock even if the DME was tuneable via OBD from the factory??
Yes you will still need to bench unlock if the DME hasn’t been unlocked. Just because it’s tuneable and unlockable doesn’t mean the DME is unlocked.

Have you thought about ecutek with a flex fuel setup? It's nice putting in any mixture you want at the pump and having the system adjust for it on the fly.
You don’t need ecutek for flex fuel. Many companies make flex fuel systems. Bm3 and Mhd will have proprietary systems soon enough

I really like yours videos so much, I just bought my 2022 Supra and Visconti unlock my ECU and I using MHD, can you remap the MHD or you leave yours the way it came.
The main reason I traded my 2016 GT350 for a 2020 Supra was with the intention of tuning it, which I have done. Thank god I didn't wait till 2021.

Also Mishimoto Intake got great flow, but nothing beats an open filter other than heat.
Yup open filter is the move. I have a verus turbo heat shield to install as well. Should help a little

Damn... I wanna switch to mhd now. The OTS maps seem much more refined and that’s what I’ll be running till I go pure800. I’m BM3 stage 2+ e30 on my gen1 b58 with tu fuel pump. Great vid!
Im pretty happy on stage 2+ 98ron for bm3 with the TU pump. Really interesting for MHD.

I left bootmod for the same reason. My car hated it and went with MHD and never looked back.
Strange my 340 is living its best life on BM3. It's nice to have options.

Jon any idea how much clearance you got from bottom of your lip ( in inches) to the road ?
5ish. My m2 had probably 2”. So 5” is very easy to manage for me
@@ThicWhips thx man. I got 4" on the m2 cuz of the Vorsteiner front lip and trying to see if I should raise the height . Only lowered 0.80" inch all around but the lips extends quite a bit low

Have bootmod3 on N55, always thought BM3 would have been the better/refined tune as you pay more $$$. Hope bm3 see this and update their tunes !!
If you have a F3x N55, the OTS BM3 maps are by far stronger than the OTS MHD maps.

Yep, still waiting for a crack!
There's an a91 edition but there's not very may of them. Most 2021 are still a90, 2022 will also be a90. A91 is just the special edition, and if you can't tell if you have one or not you don't have one.

I got a b58 m240 with vargas turbo, spool 180 catless downpipe and only hit 495whp on 93.
So on my 340i build I'm about to tune my car but.... I have a question. With Bootmod3, when you put your car in sport mode or sport + mode (if you have an active exhaust) it will open the exhaust valve when you put your car in those modes. And when you put it back into comfort mode it closes the exhaust valve. Can MHD tune do this too?

Put an 02 spacer on your rear 02 sensor and it’ll be fixed
