Hey mate. I have an iPad Pro that is disabled but needs a recovery to grant access but I need the very important files that are on iPad to be saved. Is there a way to save those information? I also have kali Linux on my Mac but not sure how to use it
okay so im useing foremost for my training and i get the output folders but they aprear to be empty in the GUI but useing ls it shows the files are there but for the assement i need to produce the files
please help me i do not know what I m doing wrong when I entered this line: sudo foremost -v -q -t mp3,flac -i /dev/sdb -o /home/vedran/obnova/ it only opens help menu . please help me. Greetings from Split,Croatia
Proveri da nemas neku stamparsku gresku tokom kucanja komande takodje proveri da li su putanje /dev/sdb i /home/vedran/obnova/ ispravne ja sam radio jednostavnim principom, otvorio terminal na desktopu i odradio komandu bez -o (output) file-a jer koliko vidim recovery se vrsi u folderu gde je terminal otvoren. Pokusaj da uradis ovako sudo foremost -v -q -t mp3,flac -i /dev/(sdb koji koristis) -o Desktop/ (ako se nalazis van desktop-a) ili najbolje otvori terminal na Desktopu i ukucaj komandu ponovo bez -o (desni klik na desktop "open terminal here") znaci kada je terminal otvoren u Desktop/ kucaj: sudo foremost -v -q -t mp3,flac -i /dev/sdb i to je to Good Luck with hunting :)
This doesn't work at all, i tested it on 3 different usbs that have deleted files and it can't recover anything, it always shows zero. And yes im using the file formats foremost supports.
In forensics should I use Kali Linux or use any Linux distribution like Ubuntu or Parrot I hope you understand what I mean

check icloud backup if ur files get deleted in the event of a format or u forget ur pw.

As a newbie I can't get the output right. Input /dev./sdc is OK but output /dev/sdb2/rec is refused. What am I doing wrong?
I think you need to mount your device before trying to write information to it.
I would either reccomend outpiting to /media/$USER/driveName/outputFolder than to the drive...
