Topdon TB6000Pro battery tester, charger and maintainer

Let's try out the new Topdon Battery charger and tester. It can charge a verity of batteries including lead acid flooded, agm and lithium. It can test the battery, starter and alternator but in todays video we will only be testing the Smart Charging option which will perform a pretest on the battery followed by a charge algorithm based on the current battery start of health and then we can click report to see a post-charge battery test result with the original test side by side to compare.

This was a downright lucent review. Very impressive. It almost seems like it's worth it just to be able to test two diesel batteries together and get the total CCAs. For a shop, that photo tagging feature looks indispensable....
Would you recommend this for the basic do-it-yourselfer??

What is the input AC voltage of Topdon TB6000pro? Can I use this in Singapore (230 volts)?

i really don't understand how those small battery chargers can really load test a battery accurately don't see how they can do any load testing

I don’t think they really load test the battery anymore. They are measuring the resistance and capacitance. Many of the new AGM and lithium batteries are recommended to not load test. They say it may cause permanent damage to the battery. I also don’t understand this because the starter will often pull half the cold cranking amps when cold. But then again, it’s only for a couple of seconds so it may not damage anything. Typical load testers, test the battery at half the cold cranking amps for 15 seconds.

There is a relationship between the battery's internal impedance (resistance to an alternating current) and battery capacity. The lower the impedance, the higher the capacity. So it's a computed estimate of capacity based on a measurement of impedance.
