You made that look so easy. Thank you. I realize that this is an older video, but well done just the same.
Love the tip for closing the hole! And that’s a very nice heel! Thanks!
Just got the courage to take on the the challenge of socks 🧦 thank so much for this video
You re very welcome! Socks are very addicting.

You are very welcome!
great info. thank you for putting it out there
You are so welcome!
Got it made my first welsh heel thank you
Fantastic!
Hi, I just practiced this lovely heel & to my surprise I succeeded with the 25 stitches on my heel flap. It was painful to modify the pattern, uh! I will use a thicker yarn with a total of 48 stitches. I bought your pattern from Ravelry because the instep pattern and this Welsh heel is so pretty! Just LOVE both.
hello I use google translator, this heel can be used if the sock is toe up, thank you.
❤️👍🙂🇸🇪
How many stitches did you use on the sock?
But can this be done toe up? I only ever knit toe up.
Hi Nikki, I have never worked a Welsh Heel toe-up, but there is no reason why it should not work. Anything you can do top down should be able to be done the opposite. I just don't have a good pattern recommendation for you as toe-up is not my default.
Do you knit through the backloop the stitches you picked up? Do you do anything special with the extra stitch that closes the gap?
Lori Tassin I just Knit the stitch in the gap normally. I almost always knit the picked up stitches along the gusset through the back loop to tighten them up.
I have an extra pronounced stitch on the right side of the heel. I thought I was doing things right. Any idea what I did wrong? Very clear instructions. Is there a "formula" to apply to various sock sizes/number of sts? THANKS!!
Linda M I'll look over the photo you sent and see if I can help. Thanks for watching! I plan to keep adding tutorials when I can between trips.
Linda M there is already a great ebook out there that explains the Welsh Heel in fabulous detail. It's on Ravelry as "Welsh Heel" by Heather Ordover. She has formulas and examples there. I have added my own "improvements" to the traditional Welsh Heel. I think if you did it by Heather's instructions and then again by mine you would be able to see what I changed. I have decided that I am just constitutionally incapable of following a pattern exactly.
Is these pattern need extra stitch for this pattern for the heel…
Not sure I understand the question, but I am happy to answer if I can. What do you mean by “extra stitch”?
Do you have written pattern for this
Sally Byers-Downing hi Sally, the Welsh heel is featured in my Bronwyn sock pattern. It is available for sale through Ravelry.
Do you happen to have a video which shows how you are holding your working yarn? I'm new to knitting and still working on finding that best possible way of holding it, to be more fluid as I knit.
Faith Rich Fidler hello! I do not, YET, however I am happy to put one up. People are always asking me how I knit- so that is a great suggestion!
I'll watch for that video~!! @@KnittingFairyGrandPrairie, because that kind of video may be my turning point. lol Knitting pun notwithstanding. HA~!!
So disappointed :( I love the looks of this heel and would like to knit it on my next socks. Bought and pattern and it is written for a 64-stitch sock ... way too big for me since I knit 56-stitch socks for me. Does anyone know where to find this heel written for more than one size?
Thank you for this tutorial, very nice heelturn!
EV D thank you! We. Hope to have more videos soon.
@@KnittingFairyGrandPrairie I hope you will find the time to do so...I think you do a great job! I'm looking forward to more knitting tutorials of this quality.
