Last week we sat down with buzzing Houston rapper Monaleo for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation she talked about how hectic the past few weeks have been for her, growing up in Houston, having social anxiety & how she deals with it while working on her music career, Houston’s music scene right now, Houston’s impact on rap culture, being inspired by Nicki Minaj, starting off singing in church, balancing doing online college classes & focusing on her music, majoring in computer engineering, attempting suicide in 2019, advice for others going through depression, how her breakthrough single “Beating Down Yo Block” was created, the song & music video blowing up, creating the treatment for the music video, YBN Almighty Jay’s cameo in the video, plans to do a remix for the song, her next release, upcoming music, being independent, Texas female rappers blowing up, and much more!
