same thing happend to me on the same exact side of my bike. 2013 CBR 500r lady pulled out in front of me and i dident have time ti stop thank you so much for the video going to work on this tomorrow.
think you could do a full tear all the way to frame wanting to convert my cb500x to the cbr500r there the same frame and motor just wanna see how everything bolts up
for 2013 honda cbr 500r would you happen to know the size of hexa socket to open the cap not the cover for right crankcase? I used 17 mm hexa socket but it still abit loose. Thanks for your help.
Wow, literally had the exact same damage to my CBR500 after going thru a construction zone. Literally exact same everywhere. I fixed it up but adding mods and doing body work rather than new fairings. I also added a new paint job though. Looks good.
I leaned mine over the other day. No scratches on the fairing but the light broke off like yours. Do i need to remove the entire fairing to replace the blinker?
Thanks for the video I hope you are not laying the bike down, unlike myself, that is why I am writing to u, do I need to take the fuse out before I disconnect the turn blinker? Thanks! And I need an inexpensive ferring as well!
Wolfy2929 Its great! Even after two years I like it better than others in its class and even some higher like Ninja 650 and new Honda 650 I tried recently.
Hi, thanks for the video, it was very informing. Did you say that the replacement part cost 150 dollars, or did I misunderstand it? Here in Germany the prices are sky high. If so could you please share details of your dealer?
Ozgur Kurt $150 taxes in Canadian. Nowadays that equates to $120 US probably. I believe every Honda dealer in North America carries these and prices should be similar (same catalog).
Awesome Possum - it wasn’t clear why you replaced the fairing, if the blinker breaks do you have to replace the fairing? Or was the fairing damaged when you laid the bike down? In my case someone broke mine off while my bike was parked, both sides. Vandalized. Thanks.
Gary Meilak you have to put all different fairings on the bike for the mounts but all they're really for protecting your person! What you fall on and the angle would determine the damage. I broke my ankle the other day on the same bike because someone was coming at me in my lane and didn't even stop.
RaitruX Most dealers also sell online... I found cheapest prices online first, but after found that my local dealer had same exact prices minus shipping...
colombo gumbo You can take them off at any time. In my case I replaced them with rear seat cowl that came with fillers for the gaps... So that sometimes I have the rear seat on and other times I have the cowl installed.
I was watching that video with female nurses that I work with. They felt so dam sorry for you and are wondering if you are okay. They totally dig you BTW.
Had the same problem with my cbr 650 recently. Will do a paint job and replace the left turn light. how hard it was to replace the turn signal light? I am thinking about doing it my self. Can it be done without removing the fairing? Tks
Dan Confaloniere Thanks Dan! Well, to be honest I tried using a hammer and a wrench, but at the end just left it alone. (it was not too bad in my case)
Where did you order your fairing and signal light? Do you have part numbers? I recently dropped my 2015 CBR500R and need to replace those same exact parts on the left side. Any advice is appreciated.
***** Just over 12000 KMs, and absolutely no issues at all. I've had good luck with 3 Hondas that I owned over the years, so probably will stick with the brand ;)
+Awesome Possum Wow not bad. I got mine "fixed" with a used fairing off eBay and a new signal from a Honda website. It was tedious work but I got it done. Thanks to this video!
+Awesome Possum I'm happy to see that your okay but I has a question for you, have you ever got the top front light to work? Cause I knows a few people who has the cbr500r and they don't know how to make the top light turn on, I've seen one cbr500r with his top light working but most don't work.
+Deme H. I'm pretty sure you should take it back to your dealer or a nearby dealership to fix it. My top light works. what year is your bike? it might be a fuse
Nice to see a video on this! I’ve got both side and nose to take off , instead of buying new ones though I’ll be wrapping them! And by the looks of it will also fit a new powerbronze screen :)
My Dad actually reversed his motorcycle into mine and broke my right turn signal looking like I dropped the bike and broke it I look like a newbie but have been riding motorcycles and dirt bikes since I was a few years old.
Awesome Possum haha dude that's hella cheap for the faring! Awesome man the headlight is pricey though... I know you can get aftermarket ones that are more flush for some like 1-20 bucks but yeah it looks good man glad you're okay
You skipped all the actual details, everyone just wanted to see how much work the fairings on the bike were to take off on this model and if it can be done without removing. It can btw, there a a screw and you would have to wire the 2 sets of wires together.
This video is 10 years old and still has excellent value on how to!! Thank you for your time and effort!
Thank you for the video, I topsided today on the same exact motorcycle on the same side. Ride safe everybody.
same thing happend to me on the same exact side of my bike. 2013 CBR 500r lady pulled out in front of me and i dident have time ti stop thank you so much for the video going to work on this tomorrow.
acura1989 Hope your CBR looks nice and shiny now ;)
Could have included more information about connecting the wiring for the turn signal.
Where did you buy the fairing for so cheap? I need that exact one.
I find your videos really entertaining :)
***** Thanks for the support Nereid!
Where did you get the side fairing from? Looking to get a new one myself, Red 2013 CBR500r

Hello just subscribed thanks. Question we’re did you get fender from thanks
Those black pins are easy to get out. You just have to press the inner circle in with a pin and they slide right out.
Rizky D Good point!
I leaned mine over the other day. No scratches on the fairing but the light broke off like yours. Do i need to remove the entire fairing to replace the blinker?
Jacob Stevens Same thing for me
Did you install an aftermarket handlebar system? I have a 2014 cbr500r with the same fairings but a higher mounted handlebar...
Thanks for ur hep! Completelly usefull
Thanks for the video I hope you are not laying the bike down, unlike myself, that is why I am writing to u, do I need to take the fuse out before I disconnect the turn blinker? Thanks! And I need an inexpensive ferring as well!
Great job. This is going to be my next bike but in white. How do you like it?
Wolfy2929 Its great! Even after two years I like it better than others in its class and even some higher like Ninja 650 and new Honda 650 I tried recently.

Hey man nice video! Do you have another one showing how to put the slip ons under the tripple? Are you still able to lock?
Nicely done
Very well said why pay to the dealer when we can fit it ourselves
She is looking good once again
Thumbs up
Awesome Possum - it wasn’t clear why you replaced the fairing, if the blinker breaks do you have to replace the fairing? Or was the fairing damaged when you laid the bike down? In my case someone broke mine off while my bike was parked, both sides. Vandalized. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing
If you had frame sliders on your bike do you think the damage would have been so bad ??
Gary Meilak you have to put all different fairings on the bike for the mounts but all they're really for protecting your person! What you fall on and the angle would determine the damage. I broke my ankle the other day on the same bike because someone was coming at me in my lane and didn't even stop.
I have the same exact damage, pressed the front brakes to hard. Went down unexpectedly. Can you send the link for the fairings.
I have the exact Same bike/ color. Same situation. So do u need to go to direct dealer or is there a website I can go to for replacement fairing.
RaitruX Most dealers also sell online... I found cheapest prices online first, but after found that my local dealer had same exact prices minus shipping...
I noticed you removed the rear handle grips, did you just take them off? What did you use to replace the empty space?
colombo gumbo You can take them off at any time. In my case I replaced them with rear seat cowl that came with fillers for the gaps... So that sometimes I have the rear seat on and other times I have the cowl installed.
Awesome Possum I've tried finding those fillers on eBay w/o having to buy the rear cowl seat but no find. Btw nice bike I have the 14 CB500f
I was watching that video with female nurses that I work with. They felt so dam sorry for you and are wondering if you are okay. They totally dig you BTW.
jayjay damaso Haha! Good to know lol. Tell your coworkers I said hi next time you see them ;)
Had the same problem with my cbr 650 recently. Will do a paint job and replace the left turn light. how hard it was to replace the turn signal light? I am thinking about doing it my self. Can it be done without removing the fairing? Tks
+Luizfigobr Hard to day, but if you are not rushing you should be able to do it without damaging anything ;)
Hey mate. I love your videos. I've done the exact same damage and im wondering how you went with straightening the brake pedal ? cheers
Dan Confaloniere Thanks Dan! Well, to be honest I tried using a hammer and a wrench, but at the end just left it alone. (it was not too bad in my case)
Thanks for the reply ! I eventually too to mine with vice grips and it bent most of the way back to normal.
Where did you order your fairing and signal light? Do you have part numbers? I recently dropped my 2015 CBR500R and need to replace those same exact parts on the left side. Any advice is appreciated.
What about installing sliders?
Hi!
Can you tell me what tools you used??
Thanks!
bkboii24 A screwdrivers with several heads, pliers and whatever else that seemed like the right tool at the time ;) lol
you can cut the exhaust damage off and turn it into a shorty exhaust , drill rear rivets out , cut the damage of re assemble and rivet back together
I'm not sure if I asked you already on another video, but how many miles or KM do you have on the bike now? And what issues did you have with it?
***** Just over 12000 KMs, and absolutely no issues at all. I've had good luck with 3 Hondas that I owned over the years, so probably will stick with the brand ;)
Just messed that same fairing on my red cbr. Where did you find your replacement fairing? Having a hell of a time finding a red replacement.
Bought mine straight from the dealer. It was around $150 for both fairing and turn signal.
Awesome Possum where did you get that fairing
You didnt show exactly the steps on removing the fairing 😖 so I guess I'll keep moving on til I find a video that does
Lori L take the bolts out and pop it out
where did you get the fairing from
Do you no what site to buy a body kit??
I have a question for you bro
Any websites that you know of. I've tried searching & no luck. My dealership told 120.00 for a new fairing (single big piece)
RaitruX Try bikebandit - www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/2013-honda-cbr500r/o/m155413
where did you buy those parts from?
What's the site to order that from
Where Can I Get My Fairings For The Exact Same Bike Cheap Like Thattt
how much were the fairings? and where did you get them?
+JohnBTheMan (TheTraveler) Directly from Honda. They were around $150 for both fairing and turn signal.

Oh damn mines on the opposite side, the gear lever needs pulling out

Good job.
Plastic cap suppose to be poke and not pull to get her out.
You missed a few critical steps on taking off the fairing.
Oh you cut the video short so it's not much help
You showed not 1 single bolt that you took off. Stop making vids please. Have a nice day.
