What a sad yet inspiring story. Sometimes kids get a raw deal in life for whatever reason. Some kids were never given love and comfort or in some cases abused. So when someone shows genuine loving care they don’t embrace it because they have a hard time trusting people. We as adults should be patient and understanding not just give up on them. Because if you give up on them they will see and feel that no one really cares for them and before you know it, they will give up on themselves. As a result, they’d be victims of their own self destruction and worse case scenario they’ll encounter something they shouldn’t; either prison or death. Like the saying goes if we don’t help who will? Sad truth is a lot kids know nothing other than rejection in their lives and when they finally get acceptance they’re not used to it and they act out which breaks my heart.

I'm thrilled that Jackie and her stepmother developed an understanding and formed a close family bond.
It’s a good ending to sad story; unfortunately there are so many kids in a similar situation that don’t even make it to their 18th birthday 🥺
And as a mother of three young children, I always take such stories very close to my heart. May God give all children a good adult by their side.
@@trueloveandotherfables The ONLY comfort I take when children die is that they’re in Heaven with Jesus, eternally loved and love-no pain. But it’s still unfair to them to be forced to give up their livelihood due to surrounding conditions & circumstances 😭😭😭

Roselyn is a kind hearted woman. Jackie's behavior is so bad that any step mother could not stand. But Roselyn's love and kindness conquer this stubborn girl's rebel heart. Now they live as one happy family because of Roselyn kindness. I think Roselyn is an inspiring example to all stepmothers.

Accepting a new family is never easy; for the parents or the child. But once you learn to let your guard down. Only then can progress can be made.
This was a very interesting & inspiring story. Just one prayer from a sweet & loving stepmother changed Jackie’s hardened heart. She had been through so much that she didn’t trust anyone. What’s the old saying; you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar?!! Also, prayer can soften the hardest, or the most broken of hearts. Well I thought fairy tale for adults. Haven't seen step mothers and step daughters get along so wonderfully. They tolerate each other out of common courtesy. But, that's it.

With respect, I'd suggest you see/listen to Jesse Romero, a former L.A. deputy sheriff, tell of experiences he had… which showed God's presence/working in his own life and others'-inexplicable things that just do Not go down that way, if it's all just about regular people or circumstances. If you're fair and serious about what you said-and not just about personal feelings-then please check him out.
(One eg. that stuck with me was his utterly untouched escape in the middle of the L.A. riots-when all the cars ahead of his were being trashed and people being dragged out, beaten etc. (you just DON'T get out of that like he did without help from above!)
