As a Viktor main, not really. The New Viktor as I don't hate anymore, just isn't the same cyborg I came to love. They didn't change his enough gameplay to fit his new identity. His skins don't fit his new lanky alien body and removed key details from them. They change Deathswarn Viktor to be more human yet didn't change prototype Viktor to pre-cult arcane Viktor but to be Jimmy neutron? They simultaneously committed and not commit to Viktors new Identity confusing everyone.
I feel the same way like the design is amazing but it just doesn't fit the abilities and how he plays. They made it too celestial and doesn't make sense for him to have a death ray and an extra hand to shoot it from. They should have made him evolve into cyborg by choice and then evolve with the hexcore into the final arcane form. Would have made more sense IMO.
I really do like the new victor. I think the most visible "problem" is that he is now way taller and skinier as he was in the show to represent that he is sick and not well. And the fact that they did this and connected it to the lore that he looks this way because he is slowly dying since he was a child, so that he has more motivation to fix himself. I like it, he looks too much like hwei tho with his body structure and posture. EDIT: to be fair, he was always like this in the splashart, just probably was difficult and better to model him thicker in 2011/12.

You missed the part of the battlepass that it removes all other systems to earn free rewards. They remove the the abilities to rerolls skins and the skin-rewards from future orbs&co will never be higher than Epic. So a F2P can't win a high value skin even by 1% anymore. It also reduces the maximum of possible skins a year from 75 (current system) TO TWELVE(12). It is a HUGE nerf to f2p players.
you can still reroll, you just won't be getting skin shards anymore at least not in any significant amount. Update is good for dads and moms that just want to get the prestige skin. Bad for everyone else.
Oh wait really? That absolutely sucks. That has been my main way I've gotten most of my high rarity skins. In fact, I love the system because it encouraged me to play a new champ because I got a high rarity skin for them.

@@AstolfoMyWaifu but does the old skillset match the new lore? his whole thing is evolving others and making them controllable husks now, and there is nothing like that in his skillset. even if you forget about riot saying reworks will stay loyal to the original concept, this update is still shit from a design perspective. making a cyborg into a mage is criminal. they took the zaun from the zaunite. the direction they took with viktor was weird even in arcane, it felt like they wanted to do a “heroes win against a world threatening villian” and it felt off, they rushed a war so bad and forgot about all the characters and the oppressive-oppressed people. making that the new canon and reworking viktor to fit that is crazy to me. they butchered his whole character.

I am not a Viktor main, but did play him a ton, and while I like that he's getting updated (I wasn't super attached to the old model) I am super disappointed in several of the skins. It feels very much like they committed to changing him to his ARCANE version, but then didn't follow through on so many things. Like why did they decide that he needed some fluffy weird hair in game? We may never know. He just feels SO plain. Death Sworn used to be so glowy and cool, now it's just some flat texture. I think the one I'm most disappointed in is High Noon though. That used to be my favorite skin for him... they made it so much less detailed, and completely changed the color on the jacket from a deep blue-gray to purple... so it doesn't even match his hat anymore. It literally feels like a half done mess. It just feels like a situation of 'If you're not going to do it right, why do it at all?"
They made the machine Harold a magic FUELED CYBORG.. into a generic ( magic magic) demon man thing so many plot holes because they think we need a discount xiarath instead of the unique cyborg
@@derpymule7977 Also while I understand some older Viktor mains not liking the idea of essentially a cyborg turning into a more typical mage, the thing is I don't get it is what's the problem with him being slim now? Literally all male characters but like 2 or 3 (Only Ezreal and Hwei come to mind) are your typical big dudes/chads. Like even Azir is a pretty buff mage that shared similar silhouette and body type with old Viktor. Variety is a good thing in this case in my opinion especially since him being thin and frail is not random and completely in theme with his lore of being a physically weak and sick zaunite. Neither mage nor machine needs bulk and strength. Like at all. If anything giving Viktor elegant appearance makes him more interesting and unique and it fits the character. Agree that him having slim profile now makes his two skins that were not designed with the new Viktor in mind, look a bit off now, however, they already didn't look that good and were quite outdated in the first place, where the default skin is definitely a big upgrade over the old one.

you must surround yourself with a lot of negative-minded content creators and players then. i've seen most people praising it. not everyone is gonna be happy, it's impossible to make everyone happy all the time, but the response to the new changes is DEFINITELY a contrast to what they usually are

I personally love some of the changes, but there's a couple of FU's by riot too.

Yeah, this is a thing in alot of other games where "Rework" used to imply a massive change. Now it means 2 abilities get reworked, and only slightly at that. Idk who they keep letting run hero based games, nobody seems to understand how tf it works.
But ASU is only visual touch up not the erasing of a champion. He should still look the same just more onpair with 2024. It’s a half baked VGU with terrible design
as a semi casual player who just gets to gold every season or 2, there is nothing more exciting than playing all the champs in new maps against different monsters and with different context League is a video game and should embrace big changes like this, rather than just turning into chess where you can spend an entire lifetime studying the same openings (no disrespect to chess) I get why some pro players might feel this is a disruption but the day that decisions are made around consistancy for pro players instead of fun for the average player will be the day the game dies
Not new maps... New skins for maps. The day Riot will give us more maps and I mean actual new maps that you will have to play in Ranked (decided randomly) is the day LoL will start dying. HOTS would still be alive if Blizzard would not add Starcraft maps... then Diablo maps... then Overwatch maps. Some people liked some new maps but reality is that everyone HATED some of them as well and that feeling of "I want to alt f4" as soon as this certain map appeared was worse than getting Gangplank Top and Shaco Jungle in your team.
@@adamqutaefan8969 As someone who played during Season 2 to Season 10 (which is to say I recognize and know the old Viktor quite fondly despite being Dr Doom) and still really liked what they did with him in Arcane, I must say the skin in game does not look good. And most of the modified versions of the other skins also don't look good. In fact this is a horrible situation as players may have purchased some of his skins to live the fantasy they used to deliver, and now that may be gone for some of them. It should've been only one Arcane skin and even then the skin they made does not look good enough.

Something in the model just feels off. It lacks the ethereal feel of evolved Viktor in the show, which they managed to give to the new ascended Viktor skin.
Old Viktor had nothing to do with Dr Doom except for the metal mask. Even when Riot made 2 versions of him before Arcane even released and they didnt know if they want to make him good or evil, neither of them resembled Doom in any way.
Old Viktor is pretty Dr. Doom coded tbh.. Both were villains who'd do anything to achieve their goals, both do what they think is good for their own people, both named Victor/Viktor, metal mask, and high tech armor and gear, both have vaguely Russian accents, both are absolute haters of one specific genius inventor hero (Reed and Jayce). There's probably more similarities between the two than differences.
Too much 'Deus' not enough 'Mechina' to be Viktor. The design is too sharp and smooth for a character that was closer to regular people than a cult leader
I'm a Viktor enjoyer for a few years now and i specially LOVE the Viktor from Arcane. It didn't bother me that they decided to change his theme from all machine to partial machine and part celestial. But oh boy, the way they did it! Viktor's base model feels completely off and disproportional. I HATE his cape (and why is so similar to Azir's?). In Arcane we saw him with a perfect blue cloak and that was awesome, so i don't get why they didn't use it. Futhermore, his hair is awful and not accurate with the series nor with his own splash art! He's lacking so many textures. And, the biggest of the problems: His VFX SUCKS! In arcane we saw so many types of magic: Runic, celestial, voidish... All of them had an unique and interesting visual. But Viktor's new VFX are simply generic blue glow. It has no deepth, no special effects, no impact. They are plain boring. Viktor's rework rn seems like he belongs in a generic mobile game and that's not what i expected at all since they had EVERYTHING to make him awesome. But, of course, his new skin solves all that and is exactly what everyone was exepcting that Viktor would be after the rework. Wich make things even worst, because it shows that was not a problem with ideas/creation, but they purposely reworked him with the minimum effort possible so they could sell the skin. And this is a shame, because implies that now a single skin is more important than the ENTIRE CHAMPION (and his player base).
Riot are calling Viktor the Herald of the Arcane now. Arcane Viktor should have been his own independent character. Now the Machine Herald is being killed and everyone who loved that character will have nowhere to go. There isn't a single other cyborg scientist in the game anymore.
The Noxus season upcoming just makes me uncomfortable about Arcane season 2 more than I already was. Mel the way she is, Swain being pushed, everything feeds into pushing this.

It's insane how much less free content will be available for f2p players now. Like, yeah, orbs and masterwork chests were random, but they could give you anything in the game. Who wants to bet that now in the "free" battlepass we'll be lucky if we get one orb per season? Like, free skins are fine, but in the moment everyone has them as long as they play, who really cares? Also, 100% they'll be lower quality than "premium" content

my only gripe with the new update is how they prettyfied victor as the machine herald, also how none of the arcane va got to voice their arcane skins so it's pretty jarring going from arcane voices to lol voices.

12:00 It's actually a massive nerf to free pass. We know of which quality their free skins are, and the second free skin will be 1380- cost with no chance to reroll it. So yeah it's just trash compared to 2 orbs we get now. Not to mention the fact that they're taking away chests for mastery. Paid pass I would say is better than now, although now there won't be ME in it so gl farming it from gacha I guees.
Just started league myself like 2 days ago and I just wish that they took the opportunity to overhaul the tutorial now that Arcane is bringing in more people. Would really appreciate stuff like, how jungleIng works and such works. There is just so much stuff to learn between champions and so many mechanics and they are adding more without a good way for people to catch up aside from watching youtube tutorials instead of playing the game.
@@acedragonelf The tutorial basically just tells you how to do basic mechanics like move and teaches you to play one of 4 characters, buy an item, then explains how a moba works before running a 1v1 against a bot. Its super basic and tells you nothing beyond the most basic stuff regarding the game.
The respawning nexus turrets will hopefully decrease those cheese games where that one tryndamere player just tp's while his team is fighting to defend and ends the game alone. so unsatisfying.

Necrit, I disagree, I do not think it's a 50/50 spilt. I think it's 12/87. Nobody really likes him as new Viktor. They like him as a new champ or as a skin, but they don't like him as default Viktor. If they talked to Viktor mains at all about the LOOK, not just gameplay, I don't think a single person would have approved this. Arcane fans don't want it since it PLAYS nothing like how his powers worked in the show, and Viktor mains don't want it since it LOOKS nothing like a MACHINE herald would. No one wanted another sterotypical skinny mage with a staff. We have Karthus, Azir, and, debatably Hwei or Leblanc, for that. I legit cannot tell his silhouette difference from him and Galactic Azir. The only thing that made him unique was his MACHINE herald part. If he isn't machine anymore and just looks like a mage behind a mask...what's the fucking point? Every comment I've seen on SkinSpotlight's Viktor vid also seems to have at least one of these points on it. It just feels very half baked and not Viktor Main approved for a rework that, theoretically, had 3. FUCKING. YEARS. in development.

It fit so well) -> patch cycles changed to "seasons" because it's the live service way to do things now, meaning undercooked narratives that will go nowhere (probably why Arcane ended the way it did. Who wants to bet that the first cinematics will be Mel traveling to Noxus?) Necrit either played too much Genshin Impact or has to pay rent this month.

I play viktor casually and while i like arcane, I still love old viktor way more. I wish they didn't use the arcane viktor as the vgu but made it a legendary skin instead. I feel like the character i fell in love with got killed in the process.

A new legendary or ultimate skin for victor + his kit update would have been enough. I really loved Death Sworn Victor and additionally it was kinda special because you only could buy it on special occasion. They really did this skin dirty and his overall visual style in game reminds me of Evelynn - and that is not a compliment. I really don't know where the mysterious dude from your viktor lore video is that enhances his own arm and takes away a boys fear with a serum. All that for a minimal kit update - a gamble on new skin quality - and a never asked twinkification (expect by the sick tumblr fanbase) WHILE delaying the shyvana rework for another year.
Ya…..I hate the new Victor. This gives a terrible precedent to any new show that 5th release. As any change the show makes, will directly change lore regardless of how good it was in the first place. At this rate, ANY champion isn’t safe. Their lore has been changed to that of a disposable camera.

Also, it's worth mentioning that some SEA servers (MY/SG/ID) , (TH) and (PH) will be merged to reduce lesser queue times and unite players under one server. It also has to do with the professional scene in the area
Some critics i have for the "vgu": There are inconsistencies with his shape, in arcane he is much taller than a human, which helps with his uncanny look, looking completely malnourished, torso extremely thin, ribcages appearing, everywhere his human anatomy is visible and deformed, and yet being both taller and wider than jayce who is a tall and bulky man, which portrayed really well that alien feeling from looking at him, while in the game he just looks like a skinny regular guy and that's it, missing what makes his slender physique work and be uncanny in the show. They seem to have put someone who never watched Arcane to work on viktor, you can see that by the way they described his ultimate in the recent video showing the changes to his ultimate "we wanted to mirror that feeling from arcane where he manifests a massive growing storm..." When does he do that in arcane? The answer is never, that's at best a misconception of that storm that jayce has to pass through on that alternative universe which is a consequence of what viktor did and not something he purposefully made. He does not have an arcane design at all, his base skin differs from his final form in the show, they missed the ball x2 since they didn't double down in either his more machine look in league, or his more weirdly organic look from arcane, instead making that grey mess that is in league, too much machine to have the amazing uncanny look from arcane viktor while also having too little machine to look cool like old league viktor, and the arcane messiah skin isn't any Viktor we saw in the show, they could have made that old man viktor from the alternative world, they could have made a pre transformation viktor that would transform during the ultimate finally giving us both a maskless viktor and a design that more resembles his arcane appearence, they could have made a skin based on that godlike ethereal final form that jayce sees inside the hivemind, but instead we receive spirit blossom jesus that never appeared in arcane (these factors reinforce my belief that whoever worked on viktor never watched arcane season 2). They didn't even try to redesign viktor's skins, instead of doing like they did to skarner where they completely changed the design of his skins to better fit the new model's aesthetics while still maintaining their concepts, they just used the exact same design and removed 50kg from his body and called it a day, making them all look horrible and uninspired, trying to be what viktor was which he isn't anymore, and somehow some of his skins have worse quality than his old ones, they made a skin that has a worse model quality than a 6+ years old skin. And to add insult to injury they didn't even change his skills at all, becoming unfaithful to both Viktors and wasting the opportunity to make an amazing new champion with finally a innovative kit like finally having a champion that could interact with the minions from his own team by evolving them into his followers. (though now i must aknowladge that the old viktor mains may have had a finger on that flaw, but i still see it as riot's mistake to copletely rely on their critiscism, obviously the old players won't want to change anything in the champ they use to play on challenger, a mixture of feeling safe in their old kit and nostalgia shrouds their judgement and riot should know better than fully relying on them, in a way that's even ironic as the viktor players are denying his evolution that was supposed to make him more fun to play for everybody, which basically contradicts viktor's beliefs that humanity should evolve to make everyone happy) Final thoughts: Viktor should 100% go back to the oven to receive a proper rework and riot should send whoever made this dumpster fire of a v"gu" (no gameplay changes and definetly not a visual upgrade) back to training camp because he is clearly severely uninspired and lazy. at least those are my thoughts

@@xandermcdonald8543 my interpretation of the storm is that it was more of a consequence of him using an extremely powerful spell with the hexgate rather than something he was actually trying to manifest also goated pfp edit: kind of like when ekko abuses his Z-drive to go back too much in time, the implosions and explosions are not intended in the project and are a consequence of reality not handling so well the overuse of the arcane

I wish you gave input on the fact that what they did to Viktor was rushed, half-baked and disrespectful to the older players. To take a character that has been there for almost a decade and make some sorta mishmash of other characters in league is just predatory. You buy all these skins and the ceos can just say “no, make him look like a twink and downgrade all texture on the new model”. In what universe is that thinking about the community? If cancer overwatch can rework characters without gutting their identity, so can league of legends. Especially because they’ve done it before.
Nah i am far from loving it, sure some freshness is nice but: 1. Atakhan - as they have presented it, he is very very unlikely to ever spawn topside in a non-competitive game. 2. Feats of Strength - Why is first blood an objective??? - SoloQ snowball will be unstoppable if the early game winner gets an extra item in lategame 3. Deepward rune - this will also amplify snowballing as you can ward out the whole enemy jungle choking them out completely All in all the next season seems super snowball heavy, combacks will become even harder if not impossible
yea the ward change seems completely horrible to me. If you're able to ward in the enemy jungle, chances are you're already winning the game. So making the wards even harder to kill makes it basically impossible for the losing team to ever leave their base for the rest of the game. I get that it's a rune so it won't be in every game and you have to sacrifice power elsewhere to have it, but it still just seems like it benefits the team that's already winning so what's the point

I think the new Viktor would be amazing if they simply added more meat to his model. Because that's not Viktor, that's a twig. I feel like the problem arises from him being really tall, skinny and him floating at the same time. He just looks really elongated.
I think the design is overall fine, the elongated proportions lend credence to it being otherworldly and uncanny for a potential evolution of humanity into what appears to be a porcelain mannequin. HOWEVER, the issue I have with the base design is why are his abs still there?
At least give him the accent! He should sound Russian not this. I donMt care if Riot hates Russia, Arcane also made it clear that Viktor even as a god have Russian accent!
It would be better for riot to give players options for the default skins, in this case it would be better if players can choose between classic skin victor and arcane version of victor. Kinda like overwatch 2
Making Arcane the main canon instead of branches things up like Marvel/DC will always be a mistake. It kills the superior lore of the connection between Hex crystal & Skarner then, it twinkified Viktor now

They change Deathswarn Viktor to be more human yet didn't change prototype Viktor to pre-cult arcane Viktor but to be Jimmy neutron?

I feel the same way like the design is amazing but it just doesn't fit the abilities and how he plays. They made it too celestial and doesn't make sense for him to have a death ray and an extra hand to shoot it from. They should have made him evolve into cyborg by choice and then evolve with the hexcore into the final arcane form. Would have made more sense IMO.
Some players seem to forget that these skins serve as viewfinders into what the character may look like once inserted in a different universe/setting.
I really do like the new victor. I think the most visible "problem" is that he is now way taller and skinier as he was in the show to represent that he is sick and not well. And the fact that they did this and connected it to the lore that he looks this way because he is slowly dying since he was a child, so that he has more motivation to fix himself. I like it, he looks too much like hwei tho with his body structure and posture.
EDIT: to be fair, he was always like this in the splashart, just probably was difficult and better to model him thicker in 2011/12.

You missed the part of the battlepass that it removes all other systems to earn free rewards. They remove the the abilities to rerolls skins and the skin-rewards from future orbs&co will never be higher than Epic. So a F2P can't win a high value skin even by 1% anymore. It also reduces the maximum of possible skins a year from 75 (current system) TO TWELVE(12).
It is a HUGE nerf to f2p players.

the direction they took with viktor was weird even in arcane, it felt like they wanted to do a “heroes win against a world threatening villian” and it felt off, they rushed a war so bad and forgot about all the characters and the oppressive-oppressed people. making that the new canon and reworking viktor to fit that is crazy to me. they butchered his whole character.

The victor design does not look good in game, it really should have been a skin, especially since his kit didn't change at all.
I am not a Viktor main, but did play him a ton, and while I like that he's getting updated (I wasn't super attached to the old model) I am super disappointed in several of the skins. It feels very much like they committed to changing him to his ARCANE version, but then didn't follow through on so many things. Like why did they decide that he needed some fluffy weird hair in game? We may never know. He just feels SO plain. Death Sworn used to be so glowy and cool, now it's just some flat texture. I think the one I'm most disappointed in is High Noon though. That used to be my favorite skin for him... they made it so much less detailed, and completely changed the color on the jacket from a deep blue-gray to purple... so it doesn't even match his hat anymore. It literally feels like a half done mess. It just feels like a situation of 'If you're not going to do it right, why do it at all?"

Literally all male characters but like 2 or 3 (Only Ezreal and Hwei come to mind) are your typical big dudes/chads. Like even Azir is a pretty buff mage that shared similar silhouette and body type with old Viktor. Variety is a good thing in this case in my opinion especially since him being thin and frail is not random and completely in theme with his lore of being a physically weak and sick zaunite. Neither mage nor machine needs bulk and strength. Like at all. If anything giving Viktor elegant appearance makes him more interesting and unique and it fits the character. Agree that him having slim profile now makes his two skins that were not designed with the new Viktor in mind, look a bit off now, however, they already didn't look that good and were quite outdated in the first place, where the default skin is definitely a big upgrade over the old one.

as a semi casual player who just gets to gold every season or 2, there is nothing more exciting than playing all the champs in new maps against different monsters and with different context
League is a video game and should embrace big changes like this, rather than just turning into chess where you can spend an entire lifetime studying the same openings (no disrespect to chess) I get why some pro players might feel this is a disruption but the day that decisions are made around consistancy for pro players instead of fun for the average player will be the day the game dies
Not new maps... New skins for maps. The day Riot will give us more maps and I mean actual new maps that you will have to play in Ranked (decided randomly) is the day LoL will start dying. HOTS would still be alive if Blizzard would not add Starcraft maps... then Diablo maps... then Overwatch maps. Some people liked some new maps but reality is that everyone HATED some of them as well and that feeling of "I want to alt f4" as soon as this certain map appeared was worse than getting Gangplank Top and Shaco Jungle in your team.

@@adamqutaefan8969 As someone who played during Season 2 to Season 10 (which is to say I recognize and know the old Viktor quite fondly despite being Dr Doom) and still really liked what they did with him in Arcane, I must say the skin in game does not look good.
And most of the modified versions of the other skins also don't look good. In fact this is a horrible situation as players may have purchased some of his skins to live the fantasy they used to deliver, and now that may be gone for some of them.
It should've been only one Arcane skin and even then the skin they made does not look good enough.
I love Viktors design in arcane but in league it looks so weird. His current model in terms of shape and silhouette resembles hwei more then his og design

Something in the model just feels off. It lacks the ethereal feel of evolved Viktor in the show, which they managed to give to the new ascended Viktor skin.
Old Viktor had nothing to do with Dr Doom except for the metal mask. Even when Riot made 2 versions of him before Arcane even released and they didnt know if they want to make him good or evil, neither of them resembled Doom in any way.
Old Viktor is pretty Dr. Doom coded tbh.. Both were villains who'd do anything to achieve their goals, both do what they think is good for their own people, both named Victor/Viktor, metal mask, and high tech armor and gear, both have vaguely Russian accents, both are absolute haters of one specific genius inventor hero (Reed and Jayce).
There's probably more similarities between the two than differences.

I'm a Viktor enjoyer for a few years now and i specially LOVE the Viktor from Arcane. It didn't bother me that they decided to change his theme from all machine to partial machine and part celestial. But oh boy, the way they did it!
Viktor's base model feels completely off and disproportional. I HATE his cape (and why is so similar to Azir's?). In Arcane we saw him with a perfect blue cloak and that was awesome, so i don't get why they didn't use it. Futhermore, his hair is awful and not accurate with the series nor with his own splash art! He's lacking so many textures. And, the biggest of the problems: His VFX SUCKS! In arcane we saw so many types of magic: Runic, celestial, voidish... All of them had an unique and interesting visual. But Viktor's new VFX are simply generic blue glow. It has no deepth, no special effects, no impact. They are plain boring. Viktor's rework rn seems like he belongs in a generic mobile game and that's not what i expected at all since they had EVERYTHING to make him awesome.
But, of course, his new skin solves all that and is exactly what everyone was exepcting that Viktor would be after the rework. Wich make things even worst, because it shows that was not a problem with ideas/creation, but they purposely reworked him with the minimum effort possible so they could sell the skin. And this is a shame, because implies that now a single skin is more important than the ENTIRE CHAMPION (and his player base).

12:00 It's actually a massive nerf to free pass. We know of which quality their free skins are, and the second free skin will be 1380- cost with no chance to reroll it. So yeah it's just trash compared to 2 orbs we get now. Not to mention the fact that they're taking away chests for mastery. Paid pass I would say is better than now, although now there won't be ME in it so gl farming it from gacha I guees.

Just started league myself like 2 days ago and I just wish that they took the opportunity to overhaul the tutorial now that Arcane is bringing in more people. Would really appreciate stuff like, how jungleIng works and such works.
There is just so much stuff to learn between champions and so many mechanics and they are adding more without a good way for people to catch up aside from watching youtube tutorials instead of playing the game.
I remember the tutorial when I first started playing and I was so confused at first and then super bored :/

Necrit, I disagree, I do not think it's a 50/50 spilt. I think it's 12/87. Nobody really likes him as new Viktor. They like him as a new champ or as a skin, but they don't like him as default Viktor. If they talked to Viktor mains at all about the LOOK, not just gameplay, I don't think a single person would have approved this. Arcane fans don't want it since it PLAYS nothing like how his powers worked in the show, and Viktor mains don't want it since it LOOKS nothing like a MACHINE herald would. No one wanted another sterotypical skinny mage with a staff. We have Karthus, Azir, and, debatably Hwei or Leblanc, for that. I legit cannot tell his silhouette difference from him and Galactic Azir. The only thing that made him unique was his MACHINE herald part. If he isn't machine anymore and just looks like a mage behind a mask...what's the fucking point? Every comment I've seen on SkinSpotlight's Viktor vid also seems to have at least one of these points on it. It just feels very half baked and not Viktor Main approved for a rework that, theoretically, had 3. FUCKING. YEARS. in development.

As far as I'm concerned, people aren't happy with the exalted skin lines and Viktor mains are just brushed off by Riot

I play viktor casually and while i like arcane, I still love old viktor way more. I wish they didn't use the arcane viktor as the vgu but made it a legendary skin instead. I feel like the character i fell in love with got killed in the process.
Why isn't anyone talking about the fact that by eliminating hextech chests, 5+ chests will actually be eliminated from the opening timeline? They already eliminated the chests given to champs S? A new legendary or ultimate skin for victor + his kit update would have been enough. I really loved Death Sworn Victor and additionally it was kinda special because you only could buy it on special occasion. They really did this skin dirty and his overall visual style in game reminds me of Evelynn - and that is not a compliment. I really don't know where the mysterious dude from your viktor lore video is that enhances his own arm and takes away a boys fear with a serum. All that for a minimal kit update - a gamble on new skin quality - and a never asked twinkification (expect by the sick tumblr fanbase) WHILE delaying the shyvana rework for another year.

Some critics i have for the "vgu":
There are inconsistencies with his shape, in arcane he is much taller than a human, which helps with his uncanny look, looking completely malnourished, torso extremely thin, ribcages appearing, everywhere his human anatomy is visible and deformed, and yet being both taller and wider than jayce who is a tall and bulky man, which portrayed really well that alien feeling from looking at him, while in the game he just looks like a skinny regular guy and that's it, missing what makes his slender physique work and be uncanny in the show.
They seem to have put someone who never watched Arcane to work on viktor, you can see that by the way they described his ultimate in the recent video showing the changes to his ultimate "we wanted to mirror that feeling from arcane where he manifests a massive growing storm..." When does he do that in arcane? The answer is never, that's at best a misconception of that storm that jayce has to pass through on that alternative universe which is a consequence of what viktor did and not something he purposefully made.
He does not have an arcane design at all, his base skin differs from his final form in the show, they missed the ball x2 since they didn't double down in either his more machine look in league, or his more weirdly organic look from arcane, instead making that grey mess that is in league, too much machine to have the amazing uncanny look from arcane viktor while also having too little machine to look cool like old league viktor, and the arcane messiah skin isn't any Viktor we saw in the show, they could have made that old man viktor from the alternative world, they could have made a pre transformation viktor that would transform during the ultimate finally giving us both a maskless viktor and a design that more resembles his arcane appearence, they could have made a skin based on that godlike ethereal final form that jayce sees inside the hivemind, but instead we receive spirit blossom jesus that never appeared in arcane (these factors reinforce my belief that whoever worked on viktor never watched arcane season 2).
They didn't even try to redesign viktor's skins, instead of doing like they did to skarner where they completely changed the design of his skins to better fit the new model's aesthetics while still maintaining their concepts, they just used the exact same design and removed 50kg from his body and called it a day, making them all look horrible and uninspired, trying to be what viktor was which he isn't anymore, and somehow some of his skins have worse quality than his old ones, they made a skin that has a worse model quality than a 6+ years old skin.
And to add insult to injury they didn't even change his skills at all, becoming unfaithful to both Viktors and wasting the opportunity to make an amazing new champion with finally a innovative kit like finally having a champion that could interact with the minions from his own team by evolving them into his followers. (though now i must aknowladge that the old viktor mains may have had a finger on that flaw, but i still see it as riot's mistake to copletely rely on their critiscism, obviously the old players won't want to change anything in the champ they use to play on challenger, a mixture of feeling safe in their old kit and nostalgia shrouds their judgement and riot should know better than fully relying on them, in a way that's even ironic as the viktor players are denying his evolution that was supposed to make him more fun to play for everybody, which basically contradicts viktor's beliefs that humanity should evolve to make everyone happy)
Final thoughts:
Viktor should 100% go back to the oven to receive a proper rework and riot should send whoever made this dumpster fire of a v"gu" (no gameplay changes and definetly not a visual upgrade) back to training camp because he is clearly severely uninspired and lazy.

I wish you gave input on the fact that what they did to Viktor was rushed, half-baked and disrespectful to the older players. To take a character that has been there for almost a decade and make some sorta mishmash of other characters in league is just predatory. You buy all these skins and the ceos can just say “no, make him look like a twink and downgrade all texture on the new model”. In what universe is that thinking about the community? If cancer overwatch can rework characters without gutting their identity, so can league of legends. Especially because they’ve done it before.
Nah i am far from loving it, sure some freshness is nice but:
1. Atakhan - as they have presented it, he is very very unlikely to ever spawn topside in a non-competitive game.
2. Feats of Strength - Why is first blood an objective???
- SoloQ snowball will be unstoppable if the early game winner gets an extra item in lategame
3. Deepward rune - this will also amplify snowballing as you can ward out the whole enemy jungle choking them out completely
All in all the next season seems super snowball heavy, combacks will become even harder if not impossible
yea the ward change seems completely horrible to me. If you're able to ward in the enemy jungle, chances are you're already winning the game. So making the wards even harder to kill makes it basically impossible for the losing team to ever leave their base for the rest of the game. I get that it's a rune so it won't be in every game and you have to sacrifice power elsewhere to have it, but it still just seems like it benefits the team that's already winning so what's the point

I feel like the problem arises from him being really tall, skinny and him floating at the same time. He just looks really elongated.
I think the design is overall fine, the elongated proportions lend credence to it being otherworldly and uncanny for a potential evolution of humanity into what appears to be a porcelain mannequin. HOWEVER, the issue I have with the base design is why are his abs still there?
