Very useful - thanks Scott. I wish there were more ON1 tutorials on UA-cam as it is a great intuitive piece of photography software and a lot easier to use than Adobe PS as it has the controls you need to get a certain "look" in modules rather than having to build it up in layers like PS. It should be even better when it gets precision masking in the next 2024 update.
Wow Scott! Until now this is the best one I've seen, maybe also because I love the subject anyway 🙂. Especially around 2:30 (about luminosity blend mode) Thank you!
Neat ideas Scott. But even more important, your video is what I look for. Quick, punchy information, no fluff or waffling around. I watch the video to the end. Other videos meander, waste time and lose my interest in the first 15-30 seconds, then I'm out. You're on track with your method.
Hi Wayne... I appreciate that. I do make the effort to get to the point ... or at least include chapter markers so you can find what you're looking for. Have fun!
Thanks Scott. Your knowledge seems limitless. A bit off subject - some other programs have the ability to auto-colorize black & white photos. Anyway of doing this in ON1?
Regarding adding B&W filter...I followed your procedures but when I went to luminosity in the blend mode, image remained B&W, no color. Is there a reason for that? Thanks...
Wow! Totally new stuff there. Best video I've seen in a while (now I've got a good bit more experience, I often find I'm not learning anything new - but it was ALL good!) Thank you!
What a great video, Scott. Your mastery of editing and knowledge of this software is so impressive. I learned so much. Simple but powerful. Many thanks.
Beautiful, Scott. Straight to the point without overly complicating things. And, some counter-intuitive uses of filters to get some cool effects. One of your best videos yet.
In older programs you had a "one touch" impressionist filter (and a monet one as well)...now you want me to remember 3 different filters to do the same thing !
We learn everyday. It never occurred to me using black and white filter to enhance color! But the take away is never forget about the blending mode. You mention this on a regular basis and somehow, I keep neglecting this powerful option. Seeing it in action in your tips is a nice reminder. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching! The bending modes do take getting used to. I tend to use them more prescriptively… and after a lot of tinkering to see what works and what doesn’t.
Thanks so much, Scott. One of your best videos ever. I struggle to come up with new ways to ways to edit my landscapes. These have definitely help me out of my processing rut. I wrote all five recipes on a card that is on my desk. I also appreciate that you don’t drag things out. Nice job.
you are the best!!! thanks for video
Thanks for watching!

Thanks Scott, these are great tips, esp the use of the Luminosity Blend Mode
Happy to help!

Auto? No. You could manually tint various monochrome tones with filters that add color (ex: Photo Filter).
Regarding adding B&W filter...I followed your procedures but when I went to luminosity in the blend mode, image remained B&W, no color. Is there a reason for that? Thanks...
Hi Ken... My suspicion is you changed the blending mode of the layer, not the blending mode of the B&W filter.
@@ScottDavenport Found the blend panel...right in front of my nose. thanks, Scott.
very nice Scott

Excellent! Thanks for this. Really packed with helpful information.
Sure thing! Thanks for watching
wow, Scott, this is absolutely a grand slam. Nothing I've ever seen on On1 or any other post-processing software.
Glad you enjoyed it. Have fun!

Apply them once, create a preset, and use the preset in bulk. Or... use the older program... "old" doesn't mean "bad". :)
Such a brilliant strategy for landscape editing. I love this channel. Thanks, Scott, for sharing.
My pleasure!
Great tips, Scott,. Recipe 2 - The Color Pop is new to me and I'll probably give it a try. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed them. Have fun!

Great to hear, Ted. Hope all is well in your world.
This was a great video. You gave me so many ideas on how to make a photo look like a painting. Thanks for all your great presentations.
You are so welcome, Rick. Thanks as always for watching.
