Thank you for your tutorial. I managed to set it up and scanned a few photos. When I tried to use it again the next day, the light did not turn green and I was not able to use it. What did I do wrong?
I didn't have too much trouble getting them to load straight but some guides would have probably made it a little easier. I had more trouble with it occasionally unnecessarily correcting the rotation on a photo. Overall this was a lot faster than my flatbed scanner.
If the scanning is fast, it is 300dpi. 600dpi is quite a bit slower. I have an example in this video: ua-cam.com/video/WuD1IPwgT1Y/v-deo.html It should take you to just before the 600dpi scan.
I was guessing the answer is no so I tested it and that is correct. You can feed two photos at the same time but it doesn't auto crop them so it isn't convenient.

open up the software on your computer and it should turn green then

how big is the file, when you can a 4x6 photo in the best quality?
On a test photo I used, I got 229KB @300dpi and 611KB @600dpi. I did some comparisons on this video: ua-cam.com/video/JNO9xRWvUL8/v-deo.html
How well does it works for normal size documents or for receipts?
Do you know if you can use any glossy A4 sized paper to calibrate the Z 300? $15 for 1 sheet of A4 paper on Amazon seems absurd!
I'm not sure about that. You might try contacting Plustek via email (you can find it on plustek.com). It could be a dead end but it is worth a try.

Mine didn’t come with a calibration sheets so scanned everything then sent it back 😁
I just bought this and can't get the software installed. I keep getting an error that file cannot be found
Did you install from the included CD? You might try downloading the software from their website. plustek.com/usa/support/drivers-and-downloads.html
Would you be able to save it to an external hard drive?
Yes. You can save to an external drive.
Can it do front and back?
This scanner only does one sided printing.
