I remember JLaw said that her character was supposed to be an amazing dancer, but she couldn't pull it off, so they rewrote the script and had to add in her saying "I'm not a good dancer, but I don't care" or something along that line. She dubbed it in when her character was facing away from the camera.
Pat is attracted to Tiffany the minute he meets her, that's why he gets frustrated and demands his parents to give him the wedding video of him and Nikki to remind him of obsession of making his marriage work. The entire movie is about Pat being defensive about his gradual attraction towards Tiffany and finally overcoming his obsession and accepting her, and Tiffany trying to get Pat to accept and like her as she is.
I gotta admit, she deserved the award here. I have a bit experience with mental health problems and I must say, I completely agree with her in that Diner scene. Bradley Cooper's character is MUCH crazier than her. 😅
Great reaction as always! The four of them got Oscar nominations for this movie: Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence for best actor and actress; and Robert De Niro, and Jacki Weaver (Pat's mom) for best supporting actor and actress, with Jennifer Lawrence ultimately winning the Oscar for best actress. truly one of the best ensemble casts in the past 10 years.
I feel compelled to let people know that no therapist in their right mind would ever trigger their client in the waiting room. I like this movie a lot and I have a lot of good things to say about it, but no one ever mentions this and it’s important for people to know so they don’t worry something like that would happen to them.
you guys are so sweet 😭 so honest and real. Just seem like the best of friends and your vibes are really so cozy and nice. i love "hanging out" with you in these movie nights. hugs to you all, from denmark 💜
Mental illness like this runs in my family - when this movie came out the group chat went crazy with everyone telling each other to watch it. The best representation of what it's like to live with mental illness and how it affects those around you. Especially your family. & how it's changed through the years. It's very clear in this film that Robert DeNiro's character is also undiagnosed.
this movie cracks me up. I have a brother exactly like Pat. it's always funny to remember all the taboo or uncomfortable things/questions he blurts out in front of people. I had to warn my husband when we were dating that my brother WILL offend him and not to take it to heart. He literally doesn't have a filter. None. Also, the movie's dialogue and family dynamic is sooooo realistic for me.
As a bipolar person, this is my absolute favourite movie and it's such a great depiction of it! Also, Nikki is his favourite person, bc he's fixated on her is all, he doesn't really care about her.
I love Bradley and Jlaw! When I first heard they were going to be in a movie together, I knew it was going to be good ❤ I also wish Chris Tucker would appear in more movies, he’s so funny!😊
This was director David O’Russell’s love letter to his son who struggles with mental illness. It also hit deeply for Robert DeNiro who also has a mentally ill son. The true danger with bipolar disorder is suicide. 1 person in 5 will ultimately take their lives. I love this movie. It was a huge follow uo for Jennifer Lawrence’s career after her breakthrough roles in Winter’s Bone and The Hunger Games. A great sleeper film of hers is The Burning Plain (2008), with Charlize Theron, John Corbett, and Kim Basinger, directed by Guillermo Arriaga. Lawrence deservably won the Marcello Mastroianni award at the Venice Film Festival for Best Young Actor or Actress.
Such a good movie. Uncomfortable to say the least but both JLaw and Brad Cooper acted so great in this movie. Such a peek into mental health + family dynamic in that situation.
love this movie so much. as someone struggling with mental health for years it kinda shows how only someone else who's struggled with mental health is gonna really get you. Nicki was never going to be able to fully understand pat. also the dad definitely was undiagnosed - his superstitions are more obsessive-compulsive. I loved the little parts with Danny, getting out again and again from the mental hospital lol was a funny part to it
The movie is very different from the book. In the book Pat doesn't remember why he is separated from his wife, it has been years since the incident and Nikki is now married with kids but Pat thinks it only has been a couple of months, that's why he is so hopeful that they will get back together. In the end of the book he eventually remembers that she cheated on him with another teacher and moves on. Also, in the book when he finds out that Tiffany wrote the letters he gets very angry and I can be mistaken but they never say "I love you". The movie is more "happy", the book is more realistic.
I would love to watch your reaction to these romantic comedies : When Harry Met Sally, Bridget Jones' Diary, Reality Bites & The Family Stone; these drama film : The Fighter, Girl Interrupted & Scent of a Woman; Action Films: Speed, The Impossible and Deja Vu. Love what you guys do.
The scene in the diner sold me on Jennifer's acting. It is to me one of her best scenes in all her films. I always like her, this is just sold it for me. Wondeful intense film.
I’ve never been so early for something in my life, really excited to see your guys thoughts! I would love to see ye react to Geralds Game, one of my fav psych thrillers during spooky season🎃
This movie was filmed in my town, like 3 blocks away from my place is the house where they live an I was outside the night they were filming the part where the book gets chucked out the window, + the dinner they were at had this plaque with the name of the movie over the booth they sat at to film 😁 #HometownPride #3WeeksInDelcoWillChangeYa
Jennifer Lawrence was only 21 when she made this movie, 16 years younger than Bradley Cooper - and she delivers such a performance on par with the incredibly talented seasoned cast you can't believe she's so young
My brother is like pat so this film to me was hilarious and brought back some memories 😂 I usually have to warn friends and also had to inform my partner it’s just the way he is but he’s harmless 😂 they get on great now lol.
Yes Jennifer Lawrence did win a well deserved best actress Oscar win for her performance I personally do like David o Russel as a director tho he is problematic he has a new star studded cast for his new film Amsterdam that I’m excited to see
They do a really good job with JLaw's BPD and the manic portion of Bradley Cooper. I would've liked to see a depressive episode, but the movie is great as is.
Such a great movie and performances. The same director and actors are in a movie about Jennifer Lawrence selling mops on QVC. Amazing movie too. Forgot the name of it
Bradley Cooper play pat has bipolar and ptsd while Jennifer Lawrence playing Tiffany has borderline personality disorder it’s very easy to mistake the two symptoms bipolar and borderline because they both have very similar traits
One thing I really hate about this movie: Why is it called "Silver Linings PLAYBOOK"? What's the "playbook" in this movie? 🤨 May I suspect that they just added that, because How I Met Your Mother was CRAZY popular at that time and that had a "Playbook" in it, that actually meant something? Anyway, even if I'm wrong (which I probably am), this is the reason why I can't get it out of my head. I love the movie otherwise, but there is no "playbook" in it. It has no relevance at all and is just irritating. In Germany we just call the movie "Silver Linings". Much better fitting.
It most likely has to do with copyright. UA-cam doesn’t play around sometimes 😫 it’s better safe than sorry cause I think UA-cam can delete a whole channel if you have too many strikes 🤔

I think she was an amazing dancer. Hella sexy ....
In the book version their dance was like the best at the event
Pat is attracted to Tiffany the minute he meets her, that's why he gets frustrated and demands his parents to give him the wedding video of him and Nikki to remind him of obsession of making his marriage work. The entire movie is about Pat being defensive about his gradual attraction towards Tiffany and finally overcoming his obsession and accepting her, and Tiffany trying to get Pat to accept and like her as she is.
She won Best Actress for this film- It isn’t easy to play undiagnosed bipolar as strongly as she did- masterclass in my opinion.
I thought she was supposed to have bpd
Not bpd?
@@byzantineaura you sure about that?
I gotta admit, she deserved the award here.
I have a bit experience with mental health problems and I must say, I completely agree with her in that Diner scene. Bradley Cooper's character is MUCH crazier than her. 😅
She did NOT play undiagnosed bi-polar. Bradley did. She was playing borderline personality disorder.
When Zuff and Bryce kept calling each other “Z” and “B” 😭🥺 why is that so cute 😂
Great reaction as always! Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper have actually been in 4 movies together. This one, American Hustle, Joy and Serena.
And don’t forget robert deniro in all of those too minus Serena
you guys are so sweet 😭 so honest and real. Just seem like the best of friends and your vibes are really so cozy and nice. i love "hanging out" with you in these movie nights. hugs to you all, from denmark 💜

facts, roberts character definitely is undiagnosed. not many people caught that initially
Absolutely.
this movie cracks me up. I have a brother exactly like Pat. it's always funny to remember all the taboo or uncomfortable things/questions he blurts out in front of people. Always love your reactions! I feel like you guys would love "Little Miss Sunshine" (2006).
Yes one of the best movies!
As a bipolar person, this is my absolute favourite movie and it's such a great depiction of it! Also, Nikki is his favourite person, bc he's fixated on her is all, he doesn't really care about her.
Truly an incredible performance from Jennifer Lawrence. Just wow
This is my favorite romantic comedy ever. And I think this is Bradley Cooper's best performance. All the supporting characters are incredible too.
I like how the dance is different and offbeat, kind of mirroring their mental illnesses
I love Bradley and Jlaw! When I first heard they were going to be in a movie together, I knew it was going to be good ❤ I also wish Chris Tucker would appear in more movies, he’s so funny!😊
One of my favorite films. The cast is all around brilliant and I love the overall message of this film. Great Reaction!

This is such a feel-good film. The whole cast is amazing.
Such a good movie. Uncomfortable to say the least but both JLaw and Brad Cooper acted so great in this movie. Such a peek into mental health + family dynamic in that situation.
27:31 I love this like, run on joke of Zuff jokingly flirting with Rob throughout this channel hahahahaha
As someone that has bipolar. Seeing their relationship made what it feels like to be real.
I actually love this movie. Im glad I gave it a chance when it first came out.
Movie is fantastic, Bradley and Jennifer give 2 of the best performances of the last decade in a movie
Bradley Cooper at his best ! Love his chemistry with Jennifer 🔥
love this movie so much. as someone struggling with mental health for years it kinda shows how only someone else who's struggled with mental health is gonna really get you. Nicki was never going to be able to fully understand pat. also the dad definitely was undiagnosed - his superstitions are more obsessive-compulsive. This is one of my favorite movies! Can’t wait to watch :)
this was one of the films that introduced my interests to films. excited about this!
The movie is very different from the book. Also, in the book when he finds out that Tiffany wrote the letters he gets very angry and I can be mistaken but they never say "I love you".
The movie is more "happy", the book is more realistic.
Also the movie kind of made his brother a dick whereas in the book he's a real stand up guy.
Overall the movie was more enjoyable to me though.
Pretty sure “the big move” is from Dirty Dancing, and is also featured in Crazy, Stupid Love, another movie you should check out.
The scene in the diner sold me on Jennifer's acting. It is to me one of her best scenes in all her films. I always like her, this is just sold it for me. Wondeful intense film.
FINALLY! So few reactions for this film! thanks guys!

Omgggg yes!!! I'm so excited for this reaction!
Great movie! Jennifer got the well deserved Academy Award for this movie
You guys should watch American Hustle. It also has Bradley JLaw and Robert D. Very good movie
I really miss it's okay to not be okay 😢
Yes Jennifer Lawrence did win a well deserved best actress Oscar win for her performance I personally do like David o Russel as a director tho he is problematic he has a new star studded cast for his new film Amsterdam that I’m excited to see
They did his brother dirty from the book. In the book version his brother wasn't a douche at all.
You guys should watch American Hustle (with Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams)
Haven’t seen this movie in years. The way they pronounced “Trazadone” made me cringe 😭
Same! Saw it when it came out and I remember being on trazadone at the time. Clearly nobody on the cast or crew was on trazadone lol
This family dynamic reminds me of my childhood with a bunch of bipolar and borderlines in the family.
They do a really good job with JLaw's BPD and the manic portion of Bradley Cooper. I would've liked to see a depressive episode, but the movie is great as is.
If you haven’t watched it yet, try “The Fifth Element”. Chris Tucker is awesome in if 😁
As a person with mental issues, this movie hits.
this is so much my life most of the time
Cannot wait or even stress enoughhh the reactions to obx
And we never get to heard Nicky's voice whatsoever
Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence play in like 10 films together. Seriously it's alot.
Knew I couldn’t stand bull on the left 😂
Soon as he started hating on Philly it all makes sense 🫠
J.R. Cash and Bob Dylan❤
great choice, guys! i really like this script and the manic episodes depiction

Ride the Lightening is a great song let's be real
Would love to see you guys watch "Seven Pounds"
Thanks, Zuff! Thanks, Rob! Thanks, Bryce! 💊 #ReelTime #DavidORussell #SilverLiningsPlaybook

I don't know what happened I just noticed today
They stated they would put out a vid in a day or two about why...I am assuming Netflix is prob demanding people take them down or something like that
It’s you
Exactly I've been waiting ... the climax is now here but no reaction
It most likely has to do with copyright. UA-cam doesn’t play around sometimes 😫 it’s better safe than sorry cause I think UA-cam can delete a whole channel if you have too many strikes 🤔
