Discovering Medtner was life changing for me, especially his sonatas. Prok 6 is one of my favorite sonatas, so cool and beautiful at times, you chose amazing pieces!
It's great that you give some insights about the making of the last programme, about your discoveries (btw, that so many female composers are so unknown is really something that should change, not just about Russian female composers. Clara Schumann or Fanny Hensel (Mendelssohn), the sister of Felix Mendelssohn, are some of the few 19th century female composers I can think of at the moment.. And I'm sure there are so many musical treasures to discover! It's similar in the history of painting). And I'm so excited to see what the new programme will be like in the end. Prokofiev sonata no 6 and Beethoven sonata no 31 sounds like a great match! After the excerpt from Prokofiev 6, I am super excited about everything that is yet to come!!! 😍
Thank you Tsukushi for giving us an update - it is really interesting to hear you talk personally about your musical journey! You clearly have a keen affinity with Prokofiev and look forward to hearing your progress with his 6 Sonata. The Ravel and Beethoven pieces are very beautiful so I'm sure you will enjoy learning those. Do you get much opportunity at RNCM for learning chamber music as well as concertos?
@vivatmusica Thank you for the comment! Of course we have chamber music as part of modules! I worked with many other instrumentalists such as violinists and enjoyed it a lot :)
