Not a Mtn biker do make my living in college athletics and make my own lame moto vids. I’m impressed with the production and edit. This is the type of vid I aspire to create. And really enjoy hearing the thoughts of such elite athletes and gained a whole new appreciation for the tactical aspects of the sport. Great vid and thanks for sharing, well played! 🏆

with the new school gravel bikes, does anyone think someone will show up on a gravel bike for leadville and do well ?
No, because the descents are so fast they'd need significant travel to be competitive. On the women's side, there aren't enough strong technical descenders for it to work. On the men's side, the geo of current XC bikes is tough to beat.
@@jjwa5410Dylan Johnson rode a drop bar bike and finished 16. Sounds pretty competitive to me.

These opened gravel roads wants me to move off Maui! Here road riding has become very dangerous because the DUI, texting and very agressive DRIVERS ( Locals in particullary)
It's such a weird dynamic for the women's race; it's basically which of the men they're able to hang on to/draft/work with. If one of the girls is lucky enough to find a guy who hasn't cracked, doesn't mind leading them out or eating wind, they can put in threshold efforts to extremely gap the other women who won't have that same opportunity.
