16:50 Man, the manga showed these two dance like mad, looking like pros, and Alya's internal monologue really, REALLY drove hime her developing feeling for Kuze. The crowd even talked about hiw amazing she dance and how Kuze was barely noticeable. Alya see that as him doing his best to make her shiny, as he likes to support others from the shadows. Would have been SUPER damn appropriate to put in the anime.
Another way to tell is the girls' ribbon, Masha has a green blue ribbon which represents that she is in a higher grade (the red ribbon is the lowest grade). Not as noticeable but yeah.
24:26 Their family names are different; Masachika’s family name is Kuze and his younger sister Yuki’s family name is Suou. Apparently, the Suou family are supposed to be a wealthy and high class, which is why Yuki acts like a prim and proper young woman in public. It’s also why Masachika thinks she would know better about teas in that shop as she should have that kind of refined knowledge. Regarding not recognizing each other, first of all, they have all grown, so you’d grow out of your baby faces. Secondly, unless you have some kind of photographic memory, it’s natural to forget names and exact facial features. I remember there was this girl that I really liked when I was in the first grade. I told her I wanted to marry her, and I remember being thrilled I got to hold her hand as we (all the kids had to hold hands in pairs) walked to the nearby movie theater from school to watch “Lady and the Tramp.” So though I remember these kinds of details, I have completely forgotten that girl’s name and what she even looked like. Of course, Masha has the benefit of having the photo and even remember the nickname, but as was exposited in episode one, Kuze has forgotten the girl’s name. That being said, it looks like their interactions this episode has raised some feelings of familiarity. Ugh, the dreaded love triangle! I hate it, lol.
Don't forget that sometimes eye and hair color could change when you grow (which is what happened with the sisters), which is another reason why Masa didn't recognize Masha from the past.
@@so12productionsyeah I have black hair and some brown growing out the front right side idk where I got this lol it wasn't like this when I was a child
Masha is the childhood friend. It is understandable Kuze doesn't completely remember her, he was very young. In his dream the girls hair looked more blonde; which sometimes can get darker as you get older in some people which seams to have happened to Masha. Also Masha was older than Kuze & has a photo him that she obviously looks at a lot keeping the memories more vivid.
20:00 I LOVE how Masha contrasts with Alya, as she tells the truth about her Russian words. 24:20 Yeah, he has his dad's last name, while Yuki has their mom's.
He rises to the occasion, usually he doesn't give a fuck but when situation requires it he's really capable. Most of the time he lacks motivation, for now ;)
@@restless8638 best explanation I can give without spoiling is that he helps others while avoiding the spotlight. He doesn't want to be seen for his achievements.
Yuuki is not into kuze ,she is actually his 'wingman' and only teases him ,she is a fan of incest stories because its good drama but not INTO it.There are plenty of anime and manga fans who like these things because it's just drama and that's ok.Yuuki is aware alya and kuze and just teases them. That's why she is a menace.
19:06 after that dream he had about his childhood, he thinks about how he can't recall her name or face, even after learning Russian for her(which he did NOT. He learned Russian from the Russian movies his grandpa would watch).
To be fair he couldn't remember her because, She used to be blonde and additionally he had forgotten her face and how difficult her name is in russian.
Masha hide her identity from Masachika in later stories, she still not 100% sure Masachika is her Sakun, because Masachika changed his last name after his parent got divorced.
Wdym ? I'm not saying your wrong but at the same time in one of the flashbacks we saw Masha calling " sa-kun " missachika ( did I spell his name wrong? ) 😅
If you want a current show that is pure wholesome without ecchi/fanservice, I recommend "Pseudo Harem". Don't let the name trick you, it's actually about a girl and a boy at theatre club. The girl is an actress and tests her skills by pretending to be different 'girl types' with the boy. It's cute, funny and with absolutely no ecchi/fanservice! The romance even progresses at a steady pace!
It's not that it's "normal", the thing is that the show is a parody of all those "stepsiblings anime". What she does and says it has to be taken as she joking about what other animes do. Yuki imitates those anime because she knows is wrong and Masachika is annoyed.
i do agree that in real life those actions shouldnt be considered normal, but hear me out, main point of anime is it`s not reality it`s fiction hence it could be in different time periods or universes or timelines where it could be considered at least semi normal, in my opinion it is like watching medieval time anime and complaining that it has medieval style houses in background and dresses or complaining that someone can shoot lasers in anime that has fantasy written all over it, but hey if you do asociate real life morals to anime/fictional storys you do you.
I’m not happy with the deviation deviation from the light novel and manga. What should have happen after 16:51 and her inner monologue are so important to explaining her feelings for him and explain what he is. On top of that it took till book 4 for the plot twist.
as much as i love this show and yuki, i don't get why people would recommend this show to casual anime fans because clearly they're either new to anime or have never watched anything outside of mainstream shounen so a character like yuki (which used to be a staple in romcoms like about a decade ago or so)and her actions are gonna make them very uncomfortable. Just save these recommendations for reaction channels run by veteran or degenerate weebs.
I dont know why but after these 3 episodes I somehow like both side characters more than alya. I just feel like they are both closer to the mc than alya is especially since alyas sister most likely is the childhoodfriend and probably crush he learnt russian for in the first place
Saying that Masha is closer to him just because she is his childhood friend is so stupid, she doesn't know his older self, she doesn't know how he is living his life or what he likes, nothing at all, it's like saying that, that one guy I was close with when I was a kid know me better than people I know now, just because he knew me longer. And of course Yuki knows him better, she is his freaking sister.
@@СофияВихарева-ц2кthis would have been true if we were talking about a regular MC, but kuze puts a mask on his personality and abilities and shows himself to be a slacker and dummy even though he's a born genius. So the person that alya knows is kuze with absolutely no motivation and who puts a mask on while Masha knows the real personality of kuze when he was a kid.
@@Mayank_MJ why are you telling me this? I read the LN. While she know how he was before, she barely know anything about his new aspirations and encourages him to stagnate and be his unmotivated self because "she will love him anyway" and because it's more comfortable for him that way, at least Alya motivates him to be better or at least try. At the end of day it really comes to what you as viewer/reader think Masachika need in his life more.

The voice actor for Alya, Sumire Uesaka, is actually fluent in russian, cause she studied russian in school
