This was one of the dragon ball games with the best graphics ever. Too bad the combat system was too simple, but the combos and energy effects were spectacular

This game had some of the best graphics, special effects and music of any DBZ game, but also some of the worst gameplay elements of any DBZ game

You know what's funny?
This game is called "Ultimate Tenkaichi" technically making it the 4th installment to the Tenkaichi series but in Japan it's called "Ultimate Blast" technically making it the the 3rd installment in the raging blast series. But in the end, all of those games are made by spike/chunsoft

All the beams and everything in this game just looked so good.
Back when GT characters were the most op things in Dragon Ball Video Games, specifically Omega Shenron and SSJ4 Gogeta.
this is by far the best looking DBZ game imo, too bad the gameplay feels more like a movie, you watch more than play

Had the best color customization I ever seen in any DB game.
this game was interesting for its time, but man the online was cheap as hell, since this game uses actual power level to separate the roster, everybody just used ssj4 gogeta or omega shenron, picking anyone that was not from GT was a death sentence lol

I've played this game quite a lot in my younger days, and I still do today, and I enjoy it a lot! I can see why some people don't like the combat of this game though. I'll admit, if the gameplay was along the lines of Budokai Tenkaichi's stuff, it would feel a lot more fun than it is already. And the visual effects and such are incredible for a 2011 game!
I also love how the characters actually react differently when a super attack is coming at them. They react one way if it's a Super, another way if it's an Ultimate, and a third way if they're at low (Red) health!

Exactly. I was stuck on both the main and ur own character story cause of the Great Ape fights. Freaking mashing the button multiple times, just remembering it gets me mad

I think the only gripe I have with this is that even if it is in a timeline sense some of the moves are in the wrong place, but overall you did pretty well

fuck no? the fighting was completely different. don't get me wrong I loved this game but raging blast was much better personally. I've never like the rock, paper, scissors mechanic in any fighting game.

I always thought that this game and Dragon Ball Online was the blueprint for the Xenoverse games from character customization to Transformations😎👍🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Glad someone uploaded this. Xenoverse and just about any other anime game that doesn't needs to take notes on how to properly do Ultimate attacks. Cinematic. For all that this game got wrong the Ultimate attacks sure wasn't one of them. Kakarot was the DB game that probably failed worse at this when every playable character could have had moves like this but none of them did I don't think. Cinematic ultimate attacks are practically staples to anime games and should always be there.

@@sokuralife i didn't say whether or not the game was good. I was commenting on the ultimate attacks. Even if it was the worst DB game ever made it's ultimate attacks are still better than the ultimates in games like the ones I mentioned.

@@sokuralife Also it's Ultimate attacks are probably better than some of the better DB games.
Nothing's quite as long as these, but if it's any consolation Kakarot actually does have notable cinematic attacks for boss fights. Additionally all skills have a cinematic variant that gets used once the opponent's Stamina has been worn out.

I'm glad more of this game keeps popping up on my UA-cam fyp as this was my dragon ball game growing up with the awsome big ki blasts and story mode and OC story mode where it was kinda challenging at the end. Good times.

@@masasu5 they should have been though. For both games. Anime games without cinematic supers is a big time no no in my mind. They are practically staples. Likely a large part of why certain popular anime games are so beloved. They make even a game like this worth time even if the gameplay wasn't great.
@@MrWolfchamp-xi3cu i get your point but xenoverse 2 was meant to be more of an rpg than an arena fighter and it has an mmo aspect to it.
@@masasu5 they could at least be cinematic during one on one or something. Or make an optional setting to turn cutscenes off for ultimates and reduce them to not cinematic when ideal for the player. There are ways they can fit. There are a few in the game. Hit, SSJ4 Goku, SSBE Vegeta, and Jiren have them. I wish all characters had them though.

Battle of Z was more of a prototype to xenoverse than this. Character creation is just a feature that dragon ball plays with a lot, it’s like saying dragon ball online was a prototype to this.
