for anyone that had never been on, you can also smell all the foods featured throughout the ride, and you feel the heat of the oven when you're 'underneath' it. much more immersive than just the visuals. a sensory masterpiece of a ride.
While I'm not a big fan of 3D-screen rides as opposed to everything being animatronic, I love what they did with the sets, making it feel as if you're a rat and part of the action. It's very cute. I also love how they mixed French and English, something about Remy speaking French feels 'right'. A few rides at Shanghai Disneyland would benefit from being bilingual like this (although the majority of the guests do speak Mandarin.)
I don't like the transition to screens in dark rides. For background walls it adds something, but in any other situation is just feels lazy. Like movies moving from props to cgi. Something is lost. Hopefully this ride is the epitome of such laziness and not the future of all.
At least it makes the ride more versatile. It looks like they could easily replace the props, reprogram the carts, and change the footage to make something new.
Oh come on America has everything why can't this just be paris only 😕No one will want to go to Paris if they're rides aren't exclusive. Disneyland paris is already losing a ton of money
You have crush coaster, which is really cool, and your big thunder mountain is way better than WDW's one. And DLP was just entirely bought by Disney at the beggining of the year so in a few year it will expand i assure you ;)
for everyone saying they don’t like the big screens in rides like this... it’s a totally different experience when u are on the ride. for example, the spider-man rise in universal is crazy cool! my favorite ride in the whole park, watching a video like this doesn’t give u the full experience, this ride was not lazily made!
Yep! In real life, not only are the screens in (a good version of) 3D, but there are also smells, and the vehicles ("Ratmobiles" as they are called) make small simulator-like movies when you are in front of a screen. It feels like you're actually moving.
Not to mention the wind when the cart is pushed and the hand comes through the vent or the spray of water when the mop is pushed towards you and the champagne is opened it’s such an amazing ride
Just for everyone who hasn’t actually been, you have 3D glasses which make it look amazing, with the broom part, you get squirted, feel the heat under the cooler etc and each room has a different smell. This ride is truly incredible
What an amazingly advanced ride! Of course I'd expect no less from disney. I love how the effects on the screen match what's happening in the room. Wheels spinning, curtains being lifted, etc. It's a dream to build and maintain such rides like this. Perhaps one day..
Omg omg omg!!!!! ❤❤❤❤😭😭😭😭 I've just come back home from a 3 day getaway in Paris. The main reason I wanted to go was for this!! And I loved it!!! ❤❤ No joke, I went on it 4 times over the course of 2 days. I am absolutely NOT ashamed to say I cried the first time. It meant so much to me, I couldn't believe I was actually there 😭😭😭
Finally! They're bringing this to Epcot in the France Pavilion in the World Showcase and I'm excited to see my one of my favorite movies of all time to be represented in my favorite area of theme park history
The best part, real flame from top, broom thread hitting your face, car moving with rat, smell of every arena, darkness and 3D effects I loved being here. it was something i will never forget my whole life.
This ride really surprised me. Wasn't expecting to be as fun as it is. Really enjoyed. The only thing was that I felt a bit dizzy with all the movements and 3d images.
I remember when this was considered disneys best attraction and everyone begged for it in WDW, and not that were getting it, its being overshadowed by Rise of the Resistance and Runaway Railway. Whatever though, im excited for it to open in WDW nonetheless, its a cute little thing for world showcase, even if the ride tech is somewhat outdated by disneys New standards they have set, not everything can be groundbreaking and new afterall :)
From what I've seen in these videos, this is the best trackless ride out there. This one actually told a story and made you see things from the character's point of view. The Flintstones one was particularly lackluster; all it does it take you past some fairly static vignettes of the Flintstones, with no story being told. The trackless technology is really impressive but it doesn't amount to much if there isn't a story behind the ride.
no doubt, this ride is great! but I definitely think that Mystic Manor at Hong Kong is better. It incorporates a lot more physical sets and some impressive animatronics, as well as screens, and I think is more immersive than this ride. I hope we will be seeing more of this come state-side in the near future!
I remember when I went to Disneyland I went on this ride about 20 times I loved it so much! I feels like your on the movie it's in 3D the camera doesn't do it much justice. But trust me it's amazing!
I wish DIsneyland had put their $$$ into rides, such as this, instead of the Star Wars Land. I know most will disagree, but I just feel all that mega-budget could have spread a bit further, for upgrading DL. That park has had relatively no upgrades, in terms of rides and attracions, for quite some time.
Absolutely true. No upgrades at Disneyland. None. Except the new animations in Peter Pan's Flight. And Alice in Wonderland. And the additions to the Matterhorn. And Space Mountain and Star Tours. And the new finale to Big Thunder Mountain. And the new loading system at the Jungle Cruise. But other than that, nothing. You are so right.
Upgrades are seperate from actual attractions. You can soruce up rides, which, seriousl, the park has to do if it wishes to avoid rides crumbling in pieces. It is upkeep, NOT improvement. But you keep living in DIsne World where everything is happy and great.
I've followed Patton Oswalt's career since the first week 'Werewolves and Lollipops' was released and it makes me really happy that he has found so much success. I identify with him more than any other performer including the profound loss of loved ones (his wife and my daughter) and watching him work through the pain inspires me to keep trying.
I've been on Mystic Manor and Pooh's Hunny Hunt, and Mystic Manor was the more stunning of the 2 hands down because of it's v vivid effects, amazing storyline and v good use of space.
This looks like so much fun. I can imagine the 3D aspects of it. Did I recently hear a rumor that they may be putting this ride in at Epcot? It would be a welcome addition there for sure!
Had the worst luck once in this ride: First cart didn't open so we had to wait another round, then the next one did open and we sat down, but only to be dragged out again soon after. We waited 20 minutes and got the chance to see the attraction with the lights on, but eventually we had to leave with free fast-lane tickets. It's a great attraction though!
just rode it last month and it's honestly great, and so much better than it looks on a video. maybe im just inexperienced but it seemed to me that the trackless tech was very nicely used and you really had no idea where you were going next. great ride overall.
omg yes please! I rode this twice with 5-10 minute waits because of that single rider line. Didn't even use my 30-minute window FastPass that I waited in line to get for longer than I waited in line to ride the ride (why is it 30 minutes instead of 1 hour for FastPasses in DLP?)
+Autumn Dulong Probably nothing, you just get stuck and usually wait until the ride starts again. I got stuck on the Haunted Mansion and Expedition Everest and literally everybody just waited.
I was at DLP last yr and I just saw a bunch of people walking down the thing to get to the ride, I didn't even know it was there, I can't wait to ride EVERY RIDE in 1 week and 3 days!!!!!!
The cool thing is that you don’t even move for most of it. At the start when Remy falls, you feel like your falling but your not. Edit: I’m a ride scaredy cat but this is the best ride ever!
What I really like about this ride from watching it though is the large sets that makes you feel like you’re really that small hah, can’t wait for this to be in epcot
Hey So Cal, you guys have some of the best ride vids out there, I watch almost everything you put out, I'm just curious is there a team of you guys, or how do you get around the globe so fast.. anyway thanks for the great content!
I like how in the movie Linguini gets mad at Remy when he brings the rat clan to steal food, yet, in the ride, he’s helping Remy and the Rat Clan steal food. XD Make up your mind Linguini.
I've been on this and lemme tell you it's pretty magical, but the second time I went through the champagne pop was delayed for some reason? Not complaining otherwise, it was still great
The coolest part of this ride is the smells. every room has his own smell.
wow nice
夜柳 Ye Liu The fun part is that you smell in the end (Food), when you exit the ride. You see the restaurant near the exit. That gives you a real smell.

Ratatouille: one of the most underrated Disney movies ever
Gavin is not my name *wink* *Pixar
Pixar= Disney don't you know ?
Lmao, its not underrated at all. Disney has had moreunderrated movies xD
Bow- Ty, It's a Pixar movie. But I agree there, it is kinda underrated.
Luke 03, Pixar does not equal Disney. Disney only owns Pixar, but they are two completely different animation studios.
for anyone that had never been on, you can also smell all the foods featured throughout the ride, and you feel the heat of the oven when you're 'underneath' it. much more immersive than just the visuals. a sensory masterpiece of a ride.
Well said... watching Imagineering on Disney + so I needed this comment. Thank you!
Absolutely loved this ride when I went on it last year. It was one of my family’s favourites.

Honestly this ride is one of the most impressive rides I've ever been on, it's crazy the engineering that went into this
This ride is nothing without the 3D glasses, it really makes it come alive!
I like the mix of English and French. It feels like you could totally understand it speaking only one. Bit heavy on the screen scenes, though.

Its coming to Epcot in 2020, and the guardians of the galaxy coaster is in 2021
Omg i wish we had this in california!
I love Ratatouille! Of course Paris would have it LOL
I wish so much of your attraction would be in Disneyland Paris ! :D
like what? that sounded negative but I'm just genuinely curios.
Hopefully Orlando's Epcot will get this ride in the France pavilion.
Kicksno1fan Cool idea!
This ride was originally planned for DCA just before the big make-over.
for everyone saying they don’t like the big screens in rides like this... it’s a totally different experience when u are on the ride. for example, the spider-man rise in universal is crazy cool! my favorite ride in the whole park, watching a video like this doesn’t give u the full experience, this ride was not lazily made!

This ride really surprised me. Wasn't expecting to be as fun as it is. Really enjoyed. The only thing was that I felt a bit dizzy with all the movements and 3d images.
That dining room scene really reminds me of the chase scene in the Xbox version of the Ratatouille game
More-like the chase-scene from the GameCube-version!
This is perfect. Any angle will not ruin the experience.
