it's not necessarily the bad ending. His stem was black in the bad ending of Pikmin 1, but now it's red. You also can see the ship he used in hey pikmin, so I'm guessing this is a different time where parasites got him

I didn’t see winged pikmin anywhere.
Pikmin always had bits and pieces about the game taking place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, in particular with PNF-404 being stated to have an atmosphere comprised of oxygen. But with all the weirdly in-tact suburban household locations, it seems like it was caused by some kind of rapture-esque event rather than some kind of natural disaster.
Who knows maybe humans either are still living in earth but in few numbers or they went to space because of something happening at earth

I mean olimars geiger counter was going crazy on earth. Assuming it measures radiation it is likely humans nuked themselves of the planet (wich also explains all the lifeforms as they would need to mutate to survive the radiation)
@@jismeraiverhoeven i dont think all of humanity could have escaped but a large margin appears to be the case because they appear to have colanized other planets such as in hey!pikmin. i think some where left behind but survived the fallout
One thing i found interesting is that they technically canonized the bad ending from the first game by having a pikmin version of Olimar being your opponent in the challenges. I find that spey cool

Maybe I'm too used to the first 2 games but this game looks kinda dogshit. Ugly and too simple.
I remember when I was really young my dad got me pikmin 3 for the Wii U and I played that game so much I’m so excited I’m crying it looks so good I can fairly say they did a good job and I feel like I’m gonna crap my pants at night when all the scary monsters are out.

3 was atrocious though. Empty & tedious & the controls were trash. 1 wasn't my kind of game but at least it did what it was supposed to do. 3 didn't do anything.
I love how far pikmin has come. So happy I grew up with these in my childhood.
What a relief that all the pikmins are returning! Plus 2 new pikmins and oatchi! This is going to be the best Pikmin game in the series yet.
Bulbmin haven’t been shown. But I’m still okay if they don’t, what we got is awesome and we basically kinda have a grown Bulbmin with Oatchi.

I’m glad we’ve confirmed glow(aka green) Pikmin. Know it’s unlikely but if we get just one more type and it’s orange we will have all the types previewed in Pikmin 1’s best ending
This is actually insanely cool. Some of those environments looked incredibly unique. I saw what looked like a pet store aquarium zone, a huge indoor zone, and a few cool looking dungeons.
Please let this game be good, Pikmin deserves its spot right up there next to the Mario and Zelda franchises.

As a pikmin fan there’s just too much in exited about, I was already exited about all of this so far but I started freaking out when I saw that OLIMAR DID BECOME A PIKMIN?! And with all the other mechanics and game play options, he’ll even making bingo battle part of the main game was a smart move, and I’m just way too exited for this amazingly worked on game
Night exploration, cave exploration, new locations, DOG mode, and probably other things that I am missing! This game looks really cool!

It looks like you’ll not only be able to customize your character, but all the other crew mates too. When you find a cast away, you can’t see inside their helmet and they just have a blank default jumpsuit, so maybe you get to control how everyone of your crew mates look! Or maybe that’s just for secrecy on what castaway you’ll find. Who knows, just a thought. :)
You could be able to customize them, but I think it's more likely that, those are the new characters and they don't want to spoil how they look, so they have place holder characters for the time being.

I wouldn’t say Rockstar levels of Open World, but the space does feel wider than previous Pikmin titles.
The Green PIKMIN were too powerful alive, so they “nerfed” them by turning them into ghosts that die if their base gets destroyed.

@@chaosmiles07Yeah, there is also absolutely no dust, the house plants are alive, there are cardboard crafts probably made by kids on the floor, and we even see fans and stoves on! There HAS to be humans!

More like every time they visit PNF-404, the world goes further back from post-apocaliptic, to when humans were around
@@dustymcwari4468 but at the same time, the continents keep shifting from today's placement (as seen in 1 and 2) to Pangea Proxima (3 and Hey! Pikmin). It's very inconsistent but maybe there's something else at play.
EDIT: turns out the planet in Hey! Pikmin is a separate planet to PNF-404. This implies humanity may have made interstellar transportation possible.
Seeing these houses and enviroments so clean makes me wonder when this game takes place, cause i thought pikmin took place after pangea/fall of human civilization

I’m glad they’re bringing the HD versions of the first two on switch. I haven’t beat any one of them so that will be great along with three and four.

Okay, silly theory time. The Pikmin timeline is being split.
On one side of the timeline, Olimar makes it back home in Pikmin 1, then returns to PNF-404 with Louie in Pikmin 2, and finally meets the Koppaites in Pikmin 3. This is the side we've already seen.
Now, we are getting the other side of the timeline. Olimar did not make it back home in Pikmin 1. Instead, he died and got turned into a Pikmin-like creature through the onion. A rescue team has been dispatched to rescue him on PNF-404 since it is near the location his ship was last traced. Welcome to Pikmin 4.
I'm 100% sure that this is what is happening bc there's no way is otherwise
They’re bringing everything back! The fully grown armoured canon beetle; clampearls; dweevils; mamuta (he’s so fluffy X3). We’re even getting bulborbs between larvae and adult stages.
And oh yeah, 2:05 OH MY GOD! OLIMAR’S A PIKMIN HYBRID! The theorists were right! This may very well be an alternate timeline continuing on form the and ending of Pikmin 1 where he dies and the Pikmin put him in the onion.
They really thought hard about the original Pikmin games when making this and even added original and new ideas in. Something tells me that when I play it I might understand why it took so long to make.

Pikmin is so underrated
Seeing an adult lithopod really touchs my heart. As a kid I always wondered if any were left. I am so excited for this game. I really hope the WaterWraith returns.

This looks like it was worth the wait. So many mechanics new and old. I am of the camp who LOVES the caves in Pikmin 2, and seeing them back just has me so happy.

1. There are REAL (True Bulborb) Dwarf Bulborbs 2. Glow Pikmin (I knew we were getting a "hidden" type we haven't seen yet. 3. An upgrade system for Oatchi and gear? I was expecting Oatchi would change with how small he is in some of the shots but this is awesome!

There's a lot to unpack here, the demo comes out in one week, all pikmin types in story mode, the evil "bad ending Olimar" (who will probably be a recurring character) and whatever reward the night mode gives off.
As someone who played hours upon hours of 1 and 2 on the GameCube growing up, I can’t emphasis how cool it is these games are finally on the switch. Felt like something yearned by the community for so long, and it truly never felt like the Pikmin franchise would ever get the attention it deserves. So cool man can’t wait to play all 4 on my switch

Enough Pikmin have given their lives for their spirits to return to Earth en masse as glowmin. Death no longer scares them, for that which is dead cannot die.
I exited out of the Direct and this was in my suggested! ...I'll watch it again 😂
