    1 inch penetration with rod into previous layer is practiced and acceptable in Florida

    there is a notice
    every layer should be the third of the volume not the height according to astm

    Hi Engr! How long should a vibrator stay in one place? How deep should a vibrator be in a certain area? Should it be placed up to the bottom of the raft or just in a given depth?

    • @qualityengineersguide
      @qualityengineersguide  4 роки тому +1

      Well in practicality, we are using the vibrator to remove the air from it so that's the clue when there are no more air bubbles coming up then you can remove the vibrator but that process would not longer than 10 seconds then transfer the vibrator into the other unvibrated concrete. The spec sometimes said ""vibrate the concrete every 400mm depth of layer" so it is always advisable to refer to your spec. There is no question when you reach the bottom or the concrete substrate if you are casting the first layer but not on the second layer and so on..

      @@qualityengineersguide so should we wait for the concrete to fill a certain layer before vibrating it? then after reaching another layer, another vibration will be done rather than letting it stay or rotate on that area on the whole pouring process?

    So the cone test and cube test should be done from each and every RMC trucks which come for poring the concrete . Thanks ur work is really good. Sir

    • @qualityengineersguide
      @qualityengineersguide  4 роки тому +1

      Slump test is done for every truck but the cube test is done as per your specification.

    • @mohammedanees1187

      Thank you. Sir.. so how much should we need to take cubes in 1k cubic meter...?

    • @qualityengineersguide
      @qualityengineersguide  4 роки тому +1

      @@mohammedanees1187 It depends on your specification and if not in the specification you can ask your consultant. There is also frequency in taking cube samples for the specific concrete elements that is why it is better to always refer to your spec. You can find my blog post on my website about the frequency of tests. But in normal concrete, the range is 50 to 100 cubic meters is one set.

    What is the min. Height we should get(from bottom of rod to top of conc. Level After slump cone is removed) to pass the Conc. Mix Quality?

    Hi Sir. If you compact it the 1/3 of the height will decreased. Should I need to reached the 1/3 of the ht before filling the cone again? Should i need to add another count of rodding?

  • @christonalmighty
    @christonalmighty 5 місяців тому

    You do not feel the slump cone by height due to the diameter getting smaller towards the top. It is to be done in 3 parts of the same amount of concrete that does not mean the same height. Further more you do not tell the technician how to do their job you only say yes or no to the test.

      @@owaisaslam2945 In a row of pouring? It happened to us when we had a huge concrete pouring on raft foundation. We got a 3k cubic meter of concrete in one pouring, which was 3 days continuous pouring. We got one huge wall along the side of one of the rafts it was 4m height 40 m length and 2.5m width so it was cast in layers.
