I'm embarrassed to say I lost sleep over that silly dresser, after all it's just miniatures, there are way more issues in the world to loose sleep over, you know what I mean! lol I'm not even truly happy with it now, but I think once the entire room comes together..I'll be ok. The rocking chair though, easy simple and cute..why something's are challenges and why some are not..thanks for hanging in there with me!
OH...I know exactly what that's like..🤣 all too well! I really like the first dresser, but I wasn't crazy about the knobs..the second dresser looks more modern with the ombre look..and like that one too...but I love those beads you used for the feet..maybe they would of looked good on the bed posts as well. Over all..total transformation..that would of been kool to see it in a time lapse..😁..I thought the chair came out so cute with that cushion. 🥰 Love the "Save yo Cash..and use yo stash!"🤩
thank you, I agree..the knobs...booooo...but also the scrap book paper, although I did like it..it just wasn't what I wanted next to the bedding..but anyway..long story short..Im happy now and when it is all done, the dresser will just be apart of a much bigger story!
I have to say, I went back and forth on that myself! In the end, I went light to dark cause Im hoping I can add some fun accessories that really pop. :) so happy you enjoyed the tutorial! Thank you Margo.
I liked the original, except for the drawer pulls. I also like the one you ended with and I think once you get accessories on it it will be perfect. I have a table runner that would be perfect on top of it, sadly, it's life sized.. sorry.. hehe
It happens like that sometimes. Remember you made over a mini so you could always do another one and change them out at will.💐💐💐💐. I have gotten up in the middle of the night for my doll project also 🤣🤣I understand.
Gorgeous fabric..love the rocking chair..everything finished beautifully. Thank you for taking us through ur thought process, sometimes decisions take longer than projects! ❤🏠❤
Isn’t that the truth! I do love that fabric, it’s so fun. Thank you for taking the time to watch! I’m excited about the next steps, things should really start to come together now. :)
Love the end resut on the dresser! Doing art and making things has taught me to trust my instincts. If I am trying to "force" myself to like something or make it fit in, it is probably not working. Just change it! And this video is a good example. Great job!
that is so true! I believe most things so through a little of an ungly phase but in this case it was stucj in the ugly phase! lol..I had to change things up!
You are so creative. Thanks for sharing your incredible ideas. I plan to use some of your projects to make with our granddaughter. Your fan watching in Oklahoma, Barb
I have to tell you that I am so happy to hear that. I love, love the idea of you working with your grand daughter. My grandma lived far away from me but those few times I was able to do things with her, I cherish. So happy to have you join me on my channel :)
Yeah I struggled and I wanted to add a few other fun details to the dresser but after my disappointment and redo, I ran out of time, so it's a little plain, but I have so many other plans for the room that I think in the end, it will work just fine.
Oh, my goodness! I just love love love how you put colors together! I liked the first dresser but liked the second one more. Maybe with the accessories on the dresser plus the wallpaper you put behind it the "plainness" of the top of the dresser wont bother you or strike you as plain.(?) I really did get something out of your talk of color! Thank you. I will be watching this over and over until I retain the info! (Oh- I like how you redid the dresser, too!)
I agree totally…accessories make the room come together and I know it will be so fun in the end! Sometimes you just have to stop and go in a different direction!
I agree, I liked it but it just wasn’t right with the fabric. I think it could have gone in another room..but in the end…simple is just sometimes better! Lol
The painting on the dresser looks like a sunrise or sunset mural. 💖💖💖💖 Could you add an art deco mirror to the dresser? Or, hang a seasonal picture above it?
You have great ideas! What I did was paint two mouse fall inspired paintings above the dresser and over all I thin it turned out pretty good, way better than I thought it would especially after my total fail!
@@WhitneyLaBrie I hope you will share a picture of the painting and dresser. There is no failure, when you are trying....just learning what you like. (Should this be a quote attributed to Yoda?)

Hi Sheila! Thank you for the compliment. I don't see a number on the bottle..but here is the info I do have: Chalk Décor Paint by Craft Smart, Color: Stormy I found it at Micheals and they also sell it at Hobby Lobby.
@@WhitneyLaBrie Thank you for the information. I really enjoy your videos and learn so much. I wish I was so talented. I really liked 2nd. dresser the best.
I put a dresser into a bowl of hot water, weighted it down with a container of Dawn detergent. Went back about 20 min. later, and it came apart like room temperature butter.
I'm guessing there's a whole art course involved, but I'm impressed and intrigued to know how you achieved that 'fade' up the dresser through the three colours you used. My attempt woulda just looked stripey, and you were not going for stripey at all were you?
Years ago I took a class on tole painting. It was so fun, and in the class they did a lot of fading and it's been very helpful with many other projects over the years. I've used it a lot with painting landscapes because its great for showing different gradients in the sky. :)
whenever I paint plastic furniture I always spray paint it will a matte base coat of white. then after I paint it, I spray it will a clear coat so the paint won't scratch off. :) hope that helps!
So distracted the whole time by that piece of Pie a la Mode, that never seems to melt. Is that a 2D image? Looks so real on camera. Sadly drinking tea with no sugar here. Sigh...
I love that pie...Im a little obsessed by fake food, I love to use to display for the holidays! I too am sugar free right now, I don't know why I torture myself!
I like this one.💐
Love the blending!
thank you! Yes the bleeding looked way better to me..especially after my total fail! Hey but we live and learn! thank you for watching.
I like the dresser both ways but I think the second time makes more sense to the rest of the room. Love the rocking chair make-over!

The 2nd one looks more fall like. Very cute
I completely agree. Everything worked out but for sure this felt like a total fail in the beginning.
Beautiful!
Awe thank you! I’m happy you think so! Next week I’m adding a lot of detail! Should be fun. 😃
I'm so glad you mentioned the drawer pulls. I feel like I can mention it now, that they did not go. At all. 😂
yes totally agree, I hated them! I think they would have been ok once the room came together, but as a stand a lone piece..booo, no way.
You were totally right to rework the drawers,it just wasn’t realistic.
The improvement was spot on!
