Traveler's Notebooks Passport: Wallet Update

- Hello again,
Here is just a short update on my husband's and my wallet TNs. We both use a passport TN as our wallet, and we have for the past 2 years, and I love using this system. I also love that my husband has been using it as well, I know he's doing it more for me, but it still makes me smile. :D
And My finger has been healing. I still try to be careful so as not to get it caught on something and I'm still staying off of my typewriter just in case. Here's hoping it continues to look good.

The blue patina is gorgeous! 😍 My husband's has had the same leather wallet for over ten years, and I'm crazy jealous of how well it's aged.
If only women's pockets were big enough to comfortably fit it. But I enjoy all of the different bags I use, so my wallet will just patina more slowly than my husband's. >.

I appreciate you sharing your husband's. Been thinking of using a TN as a wallet, and as lovely as some of y'all ladies' TNs are, I know it isn't how I would use it, so it is hard to imagine. So this was super helpful, thanks!
I'm glad it was helpful. I know some TNs carry more than might be necessary for some. But I think that is what is so great about this system. You can add in what inserts make sense for you. :) Has it been working out for you using it as a wallet?
@@InsideKimmysMind it's been working really well! I've just got 2 Notebooks and a wallet insert, so mine isn't very thick, but it's been great for my productivity!
I have never seen a brown travelers company notebook that looks like that... all of the brown ones I’ve seen look almost like suede. I’m obsessed, yours is gorgeous. 👀
Oh, mine is in the camel color. It has darken over time and has this nice shine to it. :)

I just ordered this one from GALEN LEATHER to use as a wallet. Blue is my favorite color. I like this size as a wallet as I like to carry small and medium size purses.
Yes, I love this size as a wallet. Plus, it fits a small notebook which I've been thinking of switching out to a calendar insert, but I like the idea of having paper to write lists/notes on.

both wallets are beautiful! I wish I could use one cover long enough to see that kind of patina. Although, there is a noticeable difference between what my passport wallet looks like now compared to when I unpackaged it. When I do use my passport wallet, I use a CS Tea House Chamomile in the classic style. I try to keep it thin since I'm usually carrying it with a larger notebook of some kind.
Chic Sparrow does have so many great colors. After buying my pocket, I already want more covers in different sizes so I can see how difficult it would be to remain in one cover after seeing all of their options. XD Especially since Chic Sparrow has pocket options.

Love the way your husband's wallet looks! I've been thinking about getting a setup like this, but I'm curious - do you know how many cards it could hold? It's the only thing I'm iffy on since I have like 8 cards in my wallet... but this looks so cool!

I'm not sure how many cards it will hold. My husband had quite a bit of cards in the zipper pouch part of the wallet insert, but in the card slot, his held 2 in each horizontal pocket slot and then 2 in the vertical slot behind them. I think it just depends on the insert you find. Some might have more pockets to accommodate more cards. I hope that helps!

It works so well as a wallet. I'm pretty happy with it. I know what you mean, sometimes it just gets bulky, but that is why I do not journal in it. XD
What color is your nice brown cover?

It is the passport TN in camel. The color has darkened a bit over time, though. 🙂

Up until recently, we used them as our wallets. We just switched out to smaller wallets like last week. So they will be stored away for now.

I wonder if the wrinkles on the spine is from sitting on it in his pocket?
He actually puts his wallet in his front pocket. Maybe having to pull it out of his pocket causes it? Not sure.
I love how the blue patina -ed. The wrinkles are caused by bending the specific area :)
Oh, interesting. I wonder why my camel doesn't have the same wrinkles. Different leathers maybe?
@@InsideKimmysMind Could be a combination of leather type and how much you fill the notebook. I've the brown/camel/black (sold the blue not long after having it). The brown and black are smoother leather, but I tend to overstuff the brown whilst the black only has one or two refills. The spine on the black leather has also developed these creases (which doesn't bother me but I may consider applying some leather cream to it).
I think his has wrinkles on the spine because he sits on his wallet if it fits in his back pocket. :o
Yeah, I'm not sure why. It could be the type of leather? He keeps his wallet in his front pocket because he hates sitting on it. XD
