I bought the top model with i7-10510, 16GB RAM and 1 TB SSD about 2 months back. I am impressed. I use it for programming. I love that fact this charges over USB-PD. I just carry my phone's 18W power brick which provides enough power to charge the laptop slowly.
Thanks for the review! I just picked mine up from Best Buy and am loving it so far. I got it on sale for $650 so it was a steal of a deal at that price point. It feels like I paid wayyyyy more than that.

wow, that's a freakin good price! In Poland prices went really high during covid, and I got my Yoga for $947.... and it really was the best price on the market....
Thank you for your review and for the description down below. Regarding the screen, I see a lot of reflection on the screen and I would say it's very glossy so I don't get how they can write in a description "anti glare" when it's obviously not! @@davidkoziar1811 Hello, I've been using mine for online college and so far so good. The 500n glass&glossy screen is great and vivid so using it outside will be doable but I haven't really had the chance to try. Battery is good but not class leading. I get 6-7 hours for school related work (heavy Chrome browsing, music, MS apps, 40-60% brightness) and it could reach 8 hours with lighter load. Under heavier, constant cpu load it would only last 2-3 hours. Also, under cpu load, the fans give a noticeable whistle that can be annoying for some but it manages its temps quite well keeping the chassis warm but not hot to the touch. Nonetheless I have no issues with it. Hope this helps :))
I appreciate your review. It concurs with others I have watched. Best Buy yesterday was advertising this unit for $550 (i5 core, 8 GB memory, 216 GB SSD hard drive) and with twins going into high school, I got it for them. Relatively cheap performance for school work and can work as a tablet to boot. Thank you.
is it bad? first, make sure to let lenovo know this affects you aswell. most successful way of contacting them is in my experience the r/lenovo reddit. you can flash back the BIOS to an older version, however not to the version 34 most devices shipped with, but to version 33 (but the guys at lenovo ensured me they are the same. If you search "Yoga C740 BIOS update" in that reddit you should also see my post where the Lenovo support gives a download link to the older version (cant post a link cause YTB will just kill my comment then hahah)
I bough the c740 15" yesterday. But I'm tempted to return it. The edges are extremely Sharp and cutting my handpalm. Why the hell do they make this so sharp.
Both of our super cheap Dells have crapped out over the last year. We went a little heavier price point wise and ordered this yesterday. It was on sale and ended up being $600 plus tax and we hope it’s a great piece that’s good for the basics such as Microsoft office, email, and other basics. Thank you for this thorough review.
Great Review. Noticed no HDMI at all. Only downer for me as I was thinking of connecting another monitor too for multi tasking or Zoom video on one side and note taking on the other. Any ideas to compensate this. I get laptops and the gist but no geek. Also, would you say the i7 is still a good deal or i5 price to value is better. Thanks in advance. Keep grinding brotha.
I love your fantastic reviews.😍 I have a question: can I use it regularly for 1080p video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro cc? Can it handle it well? Thank you 🙏🤗
I have to agree that it's a good laptop and I had owned one before I returned it for one particular reason. A couple days after it had arrived it was flipping it when the little plastic strip under the display uncliped and started to come off. At that point I noticed that the screen in the area which was the lower left corner also was very poorly built as I could push the display in quite a bit. I returned it and ended up buying a HP spectre x360 instead because it was on sale.
ny Yoga c740 14" cooling fan has started making a lot of noise and machine gets hot though Im not running any heavy programs, rest this is a very nice machine to have for general office use.
Thanks for the review. I just purchased this and it works great except for one thing. The camera seems to have a very narrow view. I had to place it a few feet back from where I had my previous laptop when teaching Zoom classes, which make it inconvenient. Did you find that to be so? Or maybe it's a setting that I can change?
It’s a great working computer but I’d had it for like half a year now and the battery never last at most it will last like 2 hours and it takes at least 3 to fully charge
Nice review Andrew. Which wacom pen do you recommend to draw with this laptop or maybe the lenovo active pen works fine plug and play, no drivers instalation?
Could you provide details about it's USB Type-C ports such as, can they be used for data transfer? Lenovo says 2 x USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 (power delivery, DisplayPort). Can both these ports be used to charge the laptop as well as output audio + video to external displays(4K UHD)?
