A lot of you know I’m handling all of my merch stuff myself so I wanted to clarify - I’ll still be taking and fulfilling orders during this time. Launching merch this year is honestly one of the reasons I’m able to slow down right now so I can’t thank you enough for all of the support on it. Hope everyone has a good holiday❤
I’m not surprised youre burning out bro, it’s a lot, and you’ve done well. Any time I see your videos in my feed it brightens my day, but you need to look after number 1, and if what you love becomes a chore, it’s time to change it up. Whatever happens, wishing you the best.
Man, I always enjoy your gig vlogs. Whether it's load-in, sitting around waiting for the dance sets to begin, asking random questions to your bandmates, having fun on the bandstand, it's relatable and interesting to me. Great that you are taking on guitar as well, you will be way ahead with your ability to read, transpose, arrange charts and solo. You already have such a great voice with the reeds. Excellent!
I applaud you for not falling into the "musicians are supposed live unhealthy lives" norm. Please put your health before everything, you're a really good person.
Frankie, I know it might feel kind of backwards, but being vulnerable and honest with your personal struggles turns you into a really positive role-model for the musicians that are growing up watching you. They get to see a young adult reckon with the idea of success vs. respect for himself, and that's such an important part of transitioning into professional adulthood. I -love- that the way you treat others and yourself weighs heavily on you and that you take it seriously. There are lots of examples of people who are willing to be an asshole or trade their health to be "great", but I really think that the people who focus on being right with others and right with themselves are so much more impactful. As with improv so with life: play between the rests. We're rooting for you.
Hey man this is extremely valid and healthy thing to do. i'm glad you can recognize this and could take a step back before destroying yourself. we'll be here for you when you are ready.
Don’t worry Frankie. If you need to take a break don’t feel pressured to satisfy us make sure to take care of yourself as well. And we will love you no matter what! And it’s okay if you get emotional. We are all in this together.
Wow thanks for being vulnerable with us Frankie. I’ve definitely felt that burnout too from my semester at Berklee, and videos like these just reiterate how human we are. Take as much time as u need, and hoping you’ll make the best recovery. Your music resonates within our space. Thank you Frankie! :)
Take care of yourself mate. Watched few videos of people who've been feeling burnt out. It's always a lovely surprise when their next video appears on your feed whether it's a month, six months or even a year later. Hope everything works out for you
you turned a hobby/side hustle into a full blown job and stopped having fun because it became work rather than play. The key to get the groove back is to know that we don't have expectations for you. Just play your lil music and make connections, have fun and give us updates when you feel like it. You are more musician than youtuber. If you make youtube your main career you'll become a slave to the algorithm and lose your zest for art because you are prioritizing profits and what draws the most eyes (even if the product is fake) Think of youtube as a tool on the table not the table itself and youll find perspective again.
Sending good wishes for the holidays! You and I are the same age so I understand some of where you're coming from at this point in our lives. Hope you're able to get some rest and find ways to feel reinvigorated about performing and content creation!
Being a decade ahead of you age wise, you’re making the right decision. Take all the time you need and be gentle with yourself. If there’s anything I’ve learned the hard way it’s that talking and sharing is really the only way forward. It can be all encompassing for us to become ‘other focused’, be that other people or skills or stuff we produce to gauge our worth and nothing matters more than how you feel about yourself and how you play out your sense of worth in the things you do for yourself first and then for others. Thank you for sharing. It’s never easy. Stay safe and have a wonderful December and new year.
Dude I've felt music burnout on and off throughout the whole year, and I'm not even a content creator. I hugely admire what you do and making content at all means the absolute world to all of us. Heck, me making a 60s youtube short burns me out for the whole week. You absolutely deserve a break my dear friend, and we'll always be here enjoying your content regardless if you're creating new videos or not.
You’re awesome man - Glad you’re making sure to look out for #1. This is honestly a continuation of a larger lesson you’re sharing with all of us - the reality of the stresses of being a content creator. Thank you for being a stellar, transparent force for good. You’ve got this man. Take all the time you need and more, we’ll all be here to enjoy every second of the material you put out there when you’re feeling up to it. Love you, man
Your an awesome guy Frankie and I'ts been really fun watching throughout my highschool years all the way up to now. I'm a freshman in college on my winter break and I believe your videos are one of the major things that pushed me to become a saxophone jazz performance major. It's okay to be vulnerable, it's okay to be burnt our and I'm glad you're taking the time you need. Stay healthy Frankie!
Wish there was a way to anonymously donate but I wish you the best and always smile when I see a short of yours or an upload of yours come up. It's awe inspiring seeing the world that you exist in since I'm not in a field adjacent to music and it's theory, and that you are able to take us along for your ride.
I really appreciate this video on so many levels. Frankie both being honest, which he really doesn't have to be. He lives his own life and makes his own decisions. And the fact that he makes it relatable. As a music Ed major I know I'm gonna have these moments to and this is a reminder that it's okay to not go as hard each day and to take breaks. Thanks Frankie
The smart things have already been said, both by yourself and many people in the comments, so I’ll just do the thing I feel the need to do, namely send you lots of love - really appreciate all the fun stuff you share with us, I’ve certainly learnt many things from you: so above all, thank you! Take care and have a nice and relaxing holiday season💚🤗
I’ve been following you for years, and the workload you take on is just too much, even if you love what you do. I think you’ve earned a well-deserved break. Don’t worry about UA-cam or us, we’ll be here waiting for you. Take your time, recover, and come back stronger than ever ^_^
Hey brother, hang in there. Life today is really stressful for a lot of people. You have to look out for your health. And dont be afraid to ask for help, see a therapist or whatever works. You seem like a very nice and genuine person. Wish you continued success.
Always appreciate your vids. (I’m not sure u even feel this way) but know that you don’t have any responsibility to create content for us. If anything we owe you. The financial side of things really sucks. I’m lucky to be very passionate about both music and weight training. I learnt from past mistakes and now if I’m feeling less motivated to do one I put more of my time and thoughts into the other before it can developed into burnout. If time and money permit it maybe taking on something new could help to reset your motivation.
Hi Frankie, this year I had to step away from a hobby (bowling) that I've enjoyed for the better part of 20 years because of burnout and because I had no time to myself. Since I'm not doing it anymore, I've been able to try new things, take better care of myself/my relationships, and overall just be happier and I hope the same for you! I've loved your content ever since I started watching last year, and today I played my sax for the first time since high school (~8 years) in part because of your videos. Happy holidays and hope you enjoy stepping back a bit, take care
I'm 50 and a hobby sax player. Came across your channel by accident a few months back and like many folks here got immediately fascinated with it. I'm living through my unrealized dream of musicianship watching your videos. You are a profoundly talented musician, and a courageous person. And I find that your channel is unique. Somewhat strangely, it is resonating with me, making me want to watch it more. At your young age you are already making a huge impact. I think you are destined to success, whichever medium you end up choosing to transfer your positive and sincere energy. For me its an opportunity to say Thank you and wish you luck and joy in the long professional journey which is ahead of you, an when the time comes I'd be happy to be amongst your audience. Merry Christmas!
Much love brother! Take some time to just relax and take a break no pressure to do anything but chill. I think often as an artist it can be hard to remember that it is the breaks between creating those moments of living and being apart of the world separate from our art that can really fuel us. I have faith that you'll come out of this break with a fresh perspective and a renewed vigor, but if you don't and you realize you should be doing something else entirely that is perfectly reasonable too. Take your time, we'll be here when you come back.
Definitely take some time--you need to love the life you live without resenting what you do to make that life and still be able to breathe throughout! Take a breath and make some changes along the way! Thanks for everything you've shared on this channel and will continue to share in the future! Best to you!
Take care of youself first as a norm. Sure, sometimes we extend ourselves for something really helpful or meaningful but that is a choice moment not a norm. I really enjoy your channel for the music, gained understanding of what a musician goes through and the commitment it takes to play well. Another youtuber was asked by fans to upload more often and he explained that that is a big time commitment that takes away from other parts of his life so you're not alone in this. I will continue to watch Mr FF
You rock Franckie, for real. It's sad that you are feeling this way, but at the same time I'm glad you talked about it and made a desition that is better for you. I think it takes a lot of bravery to give yourself this time and space and you are doing it. You rock, greetings from Uruguay!
Going through the same thing right now man so I can relate. Creatives shouldn't restricts ourselves because then we get burned out. Do what you love and find your passion in whatever forms you heart tells you man! Good luck!
I love this guy. Hes encouraging me to do sax gigs and to truly get good at the instrument. I respect him for what he does and who he is and i hope frankie does well
Take care of yourself first. Your path doesn't have to be a straight line. Sometimes you should take the scenic route or stop to smell the flowers. It will work itself out.
Frankie, one of the things that I have always loved about your videos is the soul-level honesty - about yourself and creating music. The depth of your love for music was just so moving here, because at 72, I STILL feel that way about music, and I always have - since I was a kid. I completely understand being moved to tears by that love. Musicians will certainly understand that. Best of luck with whatever direction you go - I'm quite sure you will find that next path, and I look forward to hearing more, excellent music!
Frankie you’re an inspiration for sharing this! Feel like a lot of us are in this situation but don’t want to admit it or confront it. Hope that 2025 brings you some peace and healing!
Prioritizing your mental health is a courageous and commendable choice. Remember, it's okay to take time for yourself; your health and happiness are what matter most. Take all the time you need to find your balance. Your creativity and passion will be waiting for you when you're ready to return. Until then, focus on self-care and healing. You are not alone in this journey.
do what you need to take care of yourself dude! You’re absolutely killing it whether you’re posting 100 times a week or not posting at all, you’re a beast my man! Do what makes you fulfilled, I completely understand what you’re saying as someone who also pushes a little too hard and is finding ways to stay enjoying what we do!
I’m a 70 year old saxophonist and I truly understand. The secret to a happy and successful life is 1. Only do what feels right. Never doubt yourself. I appreciate your sincerity and honesty.
It’s funny. I was a performing rock guitar player singer for 20 years and now in my late 50’s, my interest in the French horn came to the forefront again. Back in the 90’s the instrument became an interest of mine after hearing the theme to Jurassic Park. I always thought I might pick it up when I got older. I’m looking into possible lessons although trying to get good at an orchestral instrument does take major dedication and money. French horns aren’t cheap. We’ll see. Funny how as lovers of music we can have various musical interests. If you decide to try guitar, you will enjoy it.
I played drums for 30 years but after trying out a couple of original bands that failed very quickly, I lost my mojo. I sold all my drums (I had 6 kits) and I bought a sax and I absolutely love it, I've started playing drums again lately after 2 years. You don't owe anything to anyone, do whats right for you, the burnout won't last forever and you'll find the joy again at some point, good luck mate.
You are still young bro, you have time to test the waters and change it up. Do what you like, expermiment, don't let it get to you. The most important part of life is to enjoy it! I know i'm a random person but I believe in you, you can get through this :D
Our Frankie is growing up. We're so proud of you. You keep doing you. You are a smart and talented musician. We appreciate you. All the best to you.....(just wait, you are gonna love your 30's!)
I'm also in my mid/late twenties and have dealt with burnout at my job this year. You MUST take care of yourself and your psyche. If you don't the world can get really dark really fast and that's no way to live. Wishing you the best of luck; you'll get through this fine. You're an inspiration to a lot of people; taking a break won't change that.
Take care of yourself, Frankie. I'm sure you've reached out to other musicians - and I'm positive they'll all be supportive and have much better advice than I could give. Wishing you the best.
Hey man, you probably don't know me. I've enjoyed watching your videos, and as a pianist, really appreciate your content. All of us understand taking a break, we value your health over everything. Thanks for everything man and remember, God gives his hardest challenges to his strongest soldiers. Tiny :)
Dawg. Take all the time you need. We all love your content. That’s why we always come back. I’d rather have the great content you always put out rather than mindless feed fodder. We love you Frankie. Get yourself better, take the time you need. You’re awesome, keep up the good work when you’re ready!
I love guitar! I want to get into saxophone but i'm not sure between learning jazz standards on guitar, or trying to learn piano. I think its been awhile since i've thought about the end result being more worth it than the process, and so hopefully one day i'll get to learn the more expressive instruments rather than the more rhythmic ones! Right now my passion is still guitar and singing, but as a musician i LOVE saxophone, i really appreciate other instrumentalists man!
We love you! This is from someone from the other side of the world. You got to do what you need to do. I will share from my own experience that unfortunately these feelings are inevitable in this line of work (musician/saxophonist etc). Whenever I feel like this I try to remember that what we do is often: 70% work or a chore (or whatever) and 30% really joyful… Or maybe even just 20%… But it’s for those small percentages the reason we do what we do…. That’s my take on it anyway.. but have a restful holiday season, recharge and best of luck to whatever decision you take in the future! Thank you for the amazing content! Not many younger people making content such as this other than maybe Saxologic or maybe one or two others. Peace!🙏
I’m glad you are able to step back and acknowledge that things aren’t working for you, and that you have the resources and gumption to do something about it! Thank you for taking care of yourself! Happy holidays! (Also the crunchy snow sounds were sooo satisfying)
you will always an important and inspiring musician to mine and thousands of other people’s musical journeys. You should be incredibly proud of the person you are and all your accomplishments. You’re loved, and you’ll always be. Thank you for always being amazing.❤
I can appreciate where you are right now. I am writing to you as if you were my son. I would say the same thing to my son, who also plays the Sax, is a Music Major in College. From what I heard you say, I would just say it was Music and your Sax that brought you to UA-cam. And yes, you do need money to live and pay your bills. UA-cam will always be there but it's your Sax and Music that will take you farther. You would be better off working your Craft. Getting better at the Sax. Practice, practice, practice. I grant you, the Music Industry isn't the same as it was years ago, but there are ways to make money in music and not just Weddings, etc. I would love my son to be a "Next Level" Musician, like Steve Lukather, Eric Marienthal, Steve Cole, and there are many others. It's all up to him and it is all up to you and I feel you know that. Peddling UA-cam Merch isn't going to make you rich. You WILL find your way. Start listening to other Sax Players. Hopefully they will be able to inspire you to become the Sax Player you want to be.
The chromatic freedom found in the layout of the guitar is definitely a crazy time for sure. Coming from saxophone, it is SOOO freeing. Practicing a lick in 12 keys and in two or three registers? GONE! Just move your hands up and you got this shit. Best of luck with the new direction. You have the discipline and work ethic. Go find yourself. Transcribe R&B licks, or country licks or become a champion at a videogame of your choice. Whatever you need. Musicianship sucks, but you will find God in the subtext of harmony somewhere.
Regardless, you are and will always be the greatest saxophonist on the net, don't quit ever we need your kind of talent. Don't forget ''There is no obstacle to Talent'' Take care, love your.
I don't want to make it seem like I'm discounting what you're saying, but just so you know, I would watch a 3hr long, unedited, iPhone filmed from shirt pocket vlog of a gig with no problem. But I also understand burnout so you do whatever is best for you and I'll be here when you return!
In a world that’s constantly making us compete against ourselves and work till our death I’m glad you decided to look out for yourself. ❤ wishing the best for you 🙌
Please take a rest. You’re too great and for that we would wait as long as we have to for you to come back relaxed, healthy, and happy. Live life as greatly as you can. We all love you.
A lot of you know I’m handling all of my merch stuff myself so I wanted to clarify - I’ll still be taking and fulfilling orders during this time. Health and family MUST always come first. Merry Christmas you absolute hero. We're always here
Good luck bro. I wish you the best. It's rough out there and you need to do what you think is necessary to just to survive in this country.
we will always be here anyway. do your thing! thanks for the honesty :)
I've been feeling the music burnout for a little while now too. You do what's best for you and your health, you deserve it

Love you brother, your vids have been inspirational to me. Hope to play with you on a gig some day.
Thank you for the videos, You are an inspiration to all us Sax players. Take time out, get a break. Rest & Recuperate and please be kind to yourself!
❤️🙏🏻
Take care of yourself, Frankie. I'm sure you've reached out to other musicians - and I'm positive they'll all be supportive and have much better advice than I could give. Wishing you the best.
Hey man, you probably don't know me. I've enjoyed watching your videos, and as a pianist, really appreciate your content. All of us understand taking a break, we value your health over everything. Thanks for everything man and remember, God gives his hardest challenges to his strongest soldiers.
Tiny :)
You sound really good on saxophone recently!! You really made a big progress
❤️🙏🏻
I play sax in a different genre and was burnt out too and took a 2 year break. Now I’m eager when we have gigs on a weekly basis
Hope you get this all worked out, your music is great and I love the videos
Peace!🙏
Bottom line is to take care of yourself mentally and physically. God bless brother
Take care, all the best and a happy new year!
Sincerely wishing you the best❤
I’m glad you are able to step back and acknowledge that things aren’t working for you, and that you have the resources and gumption to do something about it! Thank you for taking care of yourself! Happy holidays! (Also the crunchy snow sounds were sooo satisfying)
Thank you Becca ❤️
Thank you so much for your honesty...It helped me with my own personal life and mental problems...❤
Frankie! Whenever one of your videos hits my algorithm it makes me happy, so I'm hoping I'll still randomly see you!
you will always an important and inspiring musician to mine and thousands of other people’s musical journeys. You should be incredibly proud of the person you are and all your accomplishments. You’re loved, and you’ll always be. Thank you for always being amazing.❤
I appreciate you❤️🙏🏻
You are great and have inspired many people including me! Please never forget that!! 🔥
Hopefully they will be able to inspire you to become the Sax Player you want to be.
try to enjoy the ride. good luck, dude.
I just want to let you know that you inspire me to become a better musician/human ❤
Take it easy FF ... This time of year is always manic and from experience, you need a break now and again ... 👍
Hey hope you can heal in your mental and physically. Much love. ❤
Huge respect for taking a break that you need. We'll all stay here regardless of what you do Frankie so do whatever you need to. :)
Glad you’re choosing to go with the flow of what feels natural and needed! Much love, dude :)
You got this!💪🏻💪🏻
Hang in there and take a much deserved rest
Wishing you the best ❤️
❤️
Take care of yourself first. ❤
❤ wishing the best for you 🙌
Take Time Don't Burn Yourself Out Mate
Please take a rest. You’re too great and for that we would wait as long as we have to for you to come back relaxed, healthy, and happy. Live life as greatly as you can. We all love you.
❤️
it's just another phase in a musician life, pick up something else for the time being and you'll be back a lil stronger.
Good shit dude
Looking up to you
np king
I understand man
❤❤❤
Take care of yourself Frankie, but you'll need to change your name when you get back because you're sounding pretty g.d. wise
Ha! Thanks so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻
❤
Sax first. The rest if and when you want to.
