EPIC Modern Backyard MAKEOVER - Deck and Patio Build Time Lapse

- In this full backyard makeover we take a boring, old patio that was falling apart and turn it into a beautiful modern backyard deck and patio! The upper deck features a small outdoor kitchen, with built in gas grill, and bar top seating. The lower deck features a built in bench and day bed area along with space for a dining table. The two tiered deck leads down to a paver patio that features a gas fire pit in a modern paver design! The highlight of this deck and patio is the feature wall we created by mixing stone, deck boards and lights! This modern design is one of my favorite backyard makeovers we have ever done, let us know what you think down in the comments!

Beautiful Deck, great job! Where's the flashing tape for the top of the framing? Pressure treated or not, the framing will rot before the lifespan of the top treads.

In a hot days the stone will keep the warm. I would prefer to have grass and wood combination

I have a curious question. I noticed at time slot 15:42 that you always seem to 45 your outside corners for stairs and seating but you never do the same for the inside corners. Can I ask why that is?
Just a guess, outside corners end grain would be visible if not 45. Also inside is easier to make "clean look" as 45 degree inside would in risk of open in the future.
@@maestro8986 I guess I could see what you are saying as far as that goes. I enjoy woodworking and have the habit of doing 45° angles across the entire board. Anytime I've worked on decks I've done the same thing.

we try not to! We occasionally hit some lines and have to fix them but we try to get them all moved ahead of time

definitely has! I didn't think it would lead to more local leads, but it has, and people feel like they know us and the type of work we do way before we actually meet them

How do you get the deck back to looking new after all the dirt is on it from working?
we always powerwash everything on the last day! A surface cleaner attachment on the gun makes it a breeze
@@THEpremieroutdoor nice, the power wash doesn’t leave any lines or is the pressure low?
We use one of those round head attachments…it’s got a spinning head inside that cleans it really evenly…you can get a cheap one at lowes for like 20 bucks…it’s usually called a surface cleaner attachment

I wish I knew how much projects cost so I could budget and plan but the numbers are always so inconsistent

Very nice to have done. Too bad everyone else takes the brunt of it. We just had major construction for 9 months on one side of us and one month later we had 2 months major construction on the other side of us. It has been living hell with noise. Not fair to neighbors at all. Rude to do large projects that last that long.
This build lasted about 3 weeks!

Worst grass laying Ive ever seen. A child will tell you, you dont walk on new turf but rather lay down boards and walk on those.
Honestly it’s a ugly design. Contemporary grey deck against a yellow/beige traditional house. The work looks good.

The house is light grey and it's the exact same color as my vinyl. It goes good with the deck theme. I think some glasses are needed
