I love the Grundels played by Voiceplay. They kind of remind me of trolls. Did you see their first video with them, Night on Bald Mountain? Yes, it brings back memories of those classic cartoons we all enjoyed as kids. You have to watch closely or you miss a lot of humor.
I am really enjoying your Voice Play and solo Geoff Castellucci reactions- thanks! You understand and appreciate the creative talent of all members of this group so I am a new subscriber to your channel now. Voice Play is very different from other acapella groups as they are completely independent by choice doing all of their own production without a record label or contract. They are very theatrical and referred to as the theater kids of acapella music. They are a group from Orlando Florida and all the members and their frequently featured guests have worked as performers for Universal and/or Disney theme parks. Rick Underwood is their long time friend and makeup artists that did their makeup starting back in their college days working at Universal and Rick is in charge of the makeup for Universal's annual, monthlong 'Halloween Horror Nights'. Rachel Potter, the featured guest here, worked for a long time performing as Ariel in the little mermaid show at Disney's Magic Kingdom (she is the featured guest in Voice Play's "Little Mermaid Medley"). J. None, the featured guest in the "THRILLER" cover you recently reacted to was a full time member of Voice Play but left the group to join the Navy. He is active duty now as a bass singer with the Navy but still very much a part of the Voice Play family and comes back often to sing with Voice Play when he is on military leave (the carrot through beatboxer Layne's head is part of a long running prank on J. None when he was a full time member and they even had a carrot cake for J. None at his going away party). J. None has his own channel with music he has written and arranged and he is a great Rapper and Beatboxer as well as performer and singer with Voice Play. J. None recently released a new solo on his channel, "TGIF Slide" that features members of Voice Play and their families dancing (heartwarming, feel good video that really shows the love as this video was made the day after they spent a long day filming 'THRILLER' video). Voice Play has not permanently replaced J. None since he left so you will see a variety of frequently featured guests when J. None is not singing with them. Voice Play members love gaming and have several gaming themed covers that are amazing. I would highly recommend that you check out "Valhalla Calling" and "My Mother Told Me" from Assassin's Creed game and "Dragonborn Comes" from Skyrim game. You would also enjoy J. None's rapping solo in their spooky themed cover of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition". I look forward to your Voice Play journey!😄
A couple years ago they did "In The Hall of The Mountain King" which is the last one here. They had the same characters (Grundels). Afterwards they couldn't decide on one single one to do so they did a medley of 12 classical pieces. They couldn't decide a name for it at first. But by popular vote of their patreons (me included) they decided on "Classical Chaos" Voiceplay left to right.... Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci - bass, arrangements. Solo channel. Cesar De La Rosa - baritone, tenor. Eli (ellee) Jacobson - tenor, rock tenor, lighting, arrangements. Layne Stein - beatboxer, baritone, arrangements. Co-owner of Pattycake Productions. At present there are only four members so they collaborate with various artists for the 5th spot. Voiceplay is an independent group so they do everything themselves except intricate makeup, cameras and audio mixing. They do just about every genre of music. They are known as both The Theater Kids of Acapella and The Kings of Halloween. They live in Orlando FL. All have performed in shows at Disney World and/or Universal Studios. They love to dress up and perform. With Voiceplay and Geoff you should watch the videos to the very end instead of cutting them off right after they stop singing. They have a running list saying thank you to their patreons. Also a couple video thumbnails of videos they have done. Sometimes a little speech and behind the scenes. And as in this case Layne used his character voice to talk between them. Really funny. Any video of theirs you choose you won't be disappointed. They're all fantastic. Pattycake Productions is a filming studio where Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci film most of their videos. It is owned by Layne Stein and former member Tony Wakim. They also do original musical videos that they do everything themselves except makeup and audio mixing. All but a few are Disney related. They just released a video on their Patreon this morning. My favorites there.... Villains Haunted Mansion. Bump In The Night. Will of Oz. Villains Lair series. Welcome to the rabbit hole 🐰
It's fun seeing your enthusiasm! For a lot of us our first exposure to any classical music was Looney Tunes, you're certainly right about the nostalgia. This is the sequel to "Hall of the Mountain King" (Peer Gynt, also no lyrics), which featured Elizabeth Garozzo as the 5th Grundel. If you want to explore other genres, and enjoy Voiceplay's take on music, you really can't go wrong watching any of their covers. I'm an old and had never heard many of the songs. Their covers led me to go check out the originals and I discovered I enjoyed many artists I had previously ignored. Have fun! 😂

This is the second time for these characters. First was In The Hall Of The Mountain King.

You might enjoy their earlier one In The Hall Of The Mountain King. The outro is fun too.
