Guys I OWN a body shop and I use this same method when we are just "cleaning up" a car for the time being, like BREW2L said just have fun and piss on the haters. Nothing wrong with doing this. Great job man looks awesome, I'm 50/50 on the stripe! Lol

I had clearcoat peeling on my Tacoma door (bottom of the window from the pinstripe up). I scuffed it and used 2k two part clear in a can. A little wet sanding and buffing and it looks good. Don’t be afraid to try things yourself. Brew2l is the man! He shows everyone, get out of your comfort zone and do more for yourself. You will learn and be able to help others too.

Brother looks good! I remember doing stuff like that to make my car look good for a few weeks or for an event back in the 80's and early 90's. And you know used car lots use that same thing... So there is no room for anyone to hate...Saving money and looking good is where it's at Bro!

I had a black ‘92 GT that had that same exact blue beltline stripe and grey leather interior….i do miss that car…it was never the same after it had gotten stolen the first time…..out of 3…..i eventually sold it to my nephew for $750 about 5 years ago cause i was getting concrete work done in the side yard and needed it gone…..

I repainted my torch red Mach 1 front bumper for $100 worth of aerosols from R&E paint supply and autozone. It has some runs in the clear but how else are you gonna learn. It actually turned out fine and you can only see the runs if you really look for them. I also decided to do it from watching your videos telling us the we can do it!
Also Burgers car is quickly becoming one of my favorites mostly because of his determination. It’s so fun to see the cars come together over time!
Great video, for what they want to paint cars now who can afford it? I have a 93 vert and I get guys saying "Oh I'd do this and this" and I'm like are you gonna pay for it? I just bought probably 2k in parts that nobody we ever see but it needed it. F*ck the haters I love my stock vert with factory mufflers. There's no guts left to them anyway. 🤣

Yeah, my 1990 Oxford white LX hatch is single stage. I think it was 1991 when Ford started to use clear coat on everything.

Looks great! If your ever trying to get white to come back use bleach white. It's made for white wall tires but It cleans white and other colors like nothing I've ever used.

Its like you got my car to do this with:) Ill be trying this. For what its worth, I'd add a little tape and cheap plastic drop cloth to mask the tires and headlights. still quick easy cheap, just keeps you form the overspray you could see on the tire and possibly fogging headlights with laquer thinner.
Looks like my first! Funny, the blue tape appeared, I had been thinking that carbon may look better with blue, instead of red stripe. (or tuxedo, bad with names)
All it needs now is some smoked headlights and 👌🏻 great job on blending!

Get you some blend solvent. Yes feather out your clear but the blend solvent. I don't hate a spot job but that blend solvent is magic if you have never used it. That over spray you probably see will be gone.
I use it all the time actually. But this job wasn’t that serious and didn’t really need clear since we will be painting it soon.
Well... you have thousands of dollars to dump into the engine and drive train, you have thousands to get some paint on that car. 😉 Nice cheap hack. I did this with the black trim mold on my car which is cheaper than replacing the trim.

Hey @BREW2LFOXBODY , while you're looking at trim, it's wierd, but just one of the rubber/urethane/?? trim on my black '93 Cobra's doors is tacky...it's hard to describe but I'm sure I'm not the only one to have this happen...do you know how to deal with that? I'd LOVE to do just this type of touchup on my car because that piece of trim looks like ass against the rest of the car....appreciate any help/tips you may have, thanks!

Sorry,I just think you could have sprayed the hood and that would’ve really made a difference,just my thoughts but I don’t know how much harder that would have been to do but definitely looks better and do love the stripe because you don’t see that color
