Yes! Every culture has its great side!
They were both great, but Ho-Jun took a risk in trusting that this random stranger wouldn't do something crazy while in his home.
Good ol' Canadian and South Korean hospitality.
Challenging Vibes the Canadian guy is from Linus tech tips channel I think xD I was like he is familiar to him and hen he said he Canadian

Golden rule in Asia: "a little" can mean literally "a little" to "I am fluent".
Very true 😂😂
i'm korean
i can understand english almost but i can't speak engilsh... can speak "a little" exactly.
because we learned english in the book for 6~12years but we never talk english.
english is just for S.A.T not for talk, speak, conversation in korea
Not just Asia but all around the world. It either means: " I had one language class back in 5th form" or "I have achieved a Shakespearean suffistication level of english but never had the chance to put it to use in public."
It’s amazing how that guys first reaction was “how can I help you”
This dude not only gave you a place, but took you out for the night after working. Legends only! Mad respect for this guy and for you for having the courage to even approach him

Korean people are like that
@@nilusuleyman475 We used to be like that but since there are tons of people called beg packer increased, We are just sick of those who seem to abuse our help and kindness. People like this kinda youtuber make Korean change in this way. Shame on you guys.

This guys give back to people in their videos a thousand times (if not more) than what they ask for in this challenges. They are really heartwarming people, you should watch some of their other videos to understand it.
Am I the only one who gets sad when they have to leave the person who helped them.

That last guy was so chill! Korea would be a really hard place to do a challenge like this. East Asia is typically very reserved when it comes to strangers. It's not like the Middle East or Southeast Asia where any random person will invite you to their house for dinner.
Dude I just appreciate people like the actor! He was just so positive and so willing to share. I hope that he gets everything he ever wants out of life because that dude was solid! He thought about how he’d be hungry after walking around all day with no money and took you out to see Korean night life, what an absolute legend

South Korea is a very conservative country. It’s not common to speak to strangers, let alone he’s asking them to buy him some food and give him a place to stay for the night, it’s very surprising to Koreans. So I’m very proud of him, and thankful to the people who helped.

Do you speak English? No? Okay fuck you byeeeee 😆
How about instead of asking for just pure kindness from strangers, ask for an opportunity to exchange some value (labor, material, etc) for money and then using the money to find housing/food? I think it'll be coool
I actualy have seen this concept while I was traveling in Austria Europe.
The people who do this are carpenters, electric technicians/engineers or just craftsy individuals.
They get around by hitchhiking and then asking strangers or small business owners (mostly hostels) if there is anything they can repair in exchange of a place to spend the night and/or food.
I have met one guy who did this, he even got as far as Thailand. He was from Germany so quite a long way.
They spend as much time as they'd like in the certain region (if possible) and are completely free.
Btw yeah they have tools on them when they are traveling and wear traditional carpenters costume when looking for the next ride.
Yeah I love these guys but always think it's a tad on the crazy side to just ask strangers to let you stay with them right off the bat. We don't do it for our own homeless so why would we do it for you lol Idk just a personal opinion. This guy was an angel tho.
I hate watching these videos when they don't offer something in exchange

I've lived in Korea for 13 years.
Two things:
When a Korean says they only speak "a little" English, it's usually way more than you'd expect, sometimes to the point of being fluent.
And secondly, as far as hospitality goes, HoJun is not the exception but actually quite common in Korea. The people here are some of the most kind, generous and hospitable I've met in 25 years of traveling the world.
진짜 13년 살았어요?

Second that. I lived in Korea for 2 years (one in Seoul), and am not surprised at all by the kindness shown to this guy. However, I agree with many of the Koreans who've commented on here saying it was wrong to take advantage of their generosity. I also think it's absurd to go to any non-English-speaking country & not learn at least some very basic words & phrases in their language.
This shows how humanity can still love one another and how their are so many cool people that we have yet to meet

First, I'm Korean.
So I can understand why Koreans think this is rude.
There are many white beggar in Korea and they're begging to travel.
The reason why they are begging in Korea especially is
many Korean people are usually kind to foreigner.
They use it and earn 20 dollars in two minutes!
So Koreans can see this rudely.
But this video is different.
I don't think this is begging. Cuz he explained
his situation that he was doing challenge.
This video is just showing Korean hospitality!
Watching this videos, I never feel anything rude.
I can't speak English well but I just want to tell,
"Please guys stop disputing..."
You are the real Korean here!
god i hate begging expats. super annoying. rich white people begging like wtf?
@@moistydoooood I think he meant young people who spend more than they have whilst travelling with a mindset that things will work out if they just rely on the kindness of strangers, which is pretty selfish/rude and thus frustrating for those that know what they are doing. Also, this is a cultural thing, not a race thing, there are non-white people who will act similarly when travelling in their 20s.
But is it really that rude. You can make some awesome new connexions travelling this way. Btw I’m not saying that people should be taking it for granted; they should at least pay a small amount of money for their meal and the disagreements and totally accept that people can say no. But again I don’t think that it’s necessarily a bad way to travel. People should also have enough assurance to say no and that’s not just a culture thing.
