I have listened to the contemporary classical music of many geniuses.
adams, boulez, reich, lachenmann, yun, takemitsu, furrer, jarell, ligeti, fedele, grisey, ferneyough, birtwistle etc...
But I've never been as touched as this time...

Quite the eclectic group of modernists covering a very wide range of styles and world views. I am learning about composers I might not otherwise have engaged with were it not for this ensemble and conductor. To my mind the most obvious influence in this piece is Olivier Messaien.

Stockhausen's - Grüppen? Harvey wrote an outstanding book on Stockhausen in 1975. His roots are there, and also in Rudolf Steiner's mysticism.

The first beautiful music than I and my little sister (she plays the cello) heard from Harvey was the incredible "Bird Concerto". The richness of music textures produced by so many instruments is simply amazing.

Harvey aprendeu com os grandes mestres contemporâneos e essa obra maravilhosa reflete essa carga de emotividade e suspense. Como o silêncio é importante, pontuando cada momento musical. Essa obra é uma maravilha sinfônica.

Excellent! On jouait rarement des pièces de ce niveau quand j'étais étudiant au CNSM (il y a quelques années maintenant...). Mais j'ai tout de même une préférence pour Speakings.

I conducted a choral piece by Harvey a couple of times with my parish choir and it was a superbly wonderful experience to work with music by this composer, now sadly gone.

L'ambiance et l'environnement qu'il crée est tout simplement incroyable, j'ai beaucoup aimé cette pièce, si c'est moi j'aimerais aussi composer une pièce comme ça lol
