    Yeah, they're great until they stop working. I've have two, both died after one year. Getting a replacement (both were under warranty) was difficult. Took a month or so, lots of calls, had to make several diagnostic videos to sent to customer service. The first video showed the internal computer program had failed, even after many re-sets. Then they had me make a second video to test something that the first video showed had failed. After weeks of contacting customer service, they finally agreed that I did indeed have a defective unit and said they would send a replacement. To date, I'm waiting for the replacement. That was the second one that was defective in just after a year. Again, they are nice units, when they work! Also the batteries run down fast and there is no AC alternative.

    This was a great walkthrough of this device. I am looking to purchase two of these Feeder Connect machines to add to the Felaqua that I purchased about a year ago. I think I will also get another Felaqua so that I will have two of them along with the two feeders.
    That said, I wish my setup was as smooth as yours. Trying to setup my Felaqua for my two kitties was a real bitch. in the end, it took some time (and some help from the nice folks at SurePet) but I eventually got it up and running and have not looked back ever since.
    One setup tip for those thinking of getting one... Try as I might, I could not seem to add my kitties to the iPhone app/system so what I did was email the folks at SurePet and they told me to email them the RFID serial numbers for each of my cats' RFID chips (the ones embedded in their necks) and they were able to add them into the system. After a couple of days they showed up in the app on my iPhone and from there I just had to associate the right picture/name with the correct entry that showed up on my phone. With that I was up and running.

    Thanks for this video. One question: Does each feeder need a hub? Do you have two hubs for two cats or only one hub for two both? By the way, the muffins look really tasty!!

    • @DisDutch
      @DisDutch  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Aria. You need only 1 hub . We have 2 feeders and have 1 hub. Works like a charm! You can also link catflap to it too! If you d wish to ! Aaww thank you for the compliment ! 😘😘🌺🧸

    Hey guys we have another question do you know if we can divide the food per meal? For example we fill for all day 70g but we want them to eat 15g per meal max

    • @DisDutch
      @DisDutch  3 роки тому +1

      Am sorry guys. No when it's open it's open and the cat decides from then on how much he / she eats. You can have two separate little plates in stead of one big one but even then it's still under one open and closing surface

  • @barhernan153
    @barhernan153 2 роки тому +1

    Hey guys! Thanks for the review! Would you say the weighting is accurate? My feeder will sometimes say that it has been filled with 22 g and then say that the cat has eaten 24 g (the feeder was empty before and it was tared)
    I don't mind if it weighs 23 g instead of 22 g, but the fact that the software allows that other kind of mistake (that the cat eats more than there's food) makes me suspicious of the whole weighting mechanism
    Thanks in advance!

    • @DisDutch
      @DisDutch  2 роки тому

      Hey Ben. Thank you. What we do is every time BEFORE we refill it with their food, we reset the weight to zero. The button at the back on the left hand side. Reset the weight to make sure you start from zero in a way then refill it with food the way you would. I hope this makes sense. Otherwise Plz let us know!

    • @barhernan153
      @barhernan153 2 роки тому

      @@DisDutch Thanks for the answer! Yes, I also tare it/reset it to zero before I pour new dry food. And still that happens from time to time. Have you ever noticed it? It's not a big deal but I'm a bit bothered by it. Thanks!

    • @DisDutch
      @DisDutch  2 роки тому +1

    Hi DisDutch, thanks for the video. Do you know if it's possible to control the locking/unlocking of the feeder from the app? We have a very greedy cat, that will eat as long as there's food available. We'd like to add food there in the morning before going to work but not give her the opportunity to reach it until noon.

    • @DisDutch
      @DisDutch  2 роки тому

      hey Hans. We feel you. We have 2 cats and one of them is addicted to food so we understand you. So this chip activated feeder can as far as we know only limit which cat can feed from it but can not also limit the same cat in any way. What can help you guys is maybe a time operated feeder. we have had one like that and here is a link, it works fine. But it won't limit which cat eats what. but at least because its time operated, the cat won't be able to eat all day long.

    You guys not only spoil yourselves with high tech toys but your kittys too. Bet Lunas ready not to fight a new kitty over food lol. A new kitty will bring sunshine to your souls...and new life to Luna..

      @@DisDutch sometimes special bred animals have way more health problems. I had an Afghan dog once that was too high bred and things ended badly..my current maltipoo came from a breeder who didn't bred well and his balls never dropped and no one in town would do surgery as he was too little. point is all my pound cats and dogs
      I've adopted all are going or did go long and strong. What about rescuing a cat that's not high bred but would love to become a king to Lunas queen??? Does Amsterdam have a animal shelter?? Just thinking outside the box as a thought for you..Sadly Bagheera being high bred might have been a cause of his heart condition. You guys are just such animal lovers any kitty would be so loved to enter your world. Love from Covid Central USA 🇺🇸

    Do I need the hub if I don’t care about the app? Will it still work?

    • @DisDutch
      @DisDutch  11 місяців тому

      It’s meant to help you portion the food and gives you insight in their eating habits but it’s not obligatory no. Go for the one that doesn’t need a hub though

    • @DisDutch

      Hey Zwei. Sometimes one cat likes to bug the other but usually one of them will leave / run away and the cat feeder closes as soon as the cat with the corresponding chip is not close to it anymore

    I should feed your cat plenty! our vet said if you put your cat on a diet it will move out... our puss max eats all day and goes out hunting at night. I'm going to upgrade my cat feeder like you, we started with the basic model it took him 6 months to get used to it love him (he used to jump back when it moved) but saying that now hes flatting a set of batterys every 7 days! back to your video thanks for uploading it was very interesting...

    • @DisDutch
      @DisDutch  2 роки тому +1

      Hey roger. Here in Holland vets really need to see the animals weighing the most healthy weight possible. Overweight can cause all kind of issues just like with us people. Yeah it's a good little thing and we are still very happy with it! Thank you for watching! Good luck!

    • @DisDutch

      Haha hey Magali. What we see from our cats is that the space isn't comfortable to eat from the plate together at the same time so it's not very inviting. But we speak only from our experience
