MLF changed his scheme bc of Jacobs. Play action is what we saw last season and MLF basically took it away from offence for Jacobs. MLF should have figured out how to marry the two, but he didn't so he is responsible for a lot of this.
Three play action in the Eagles game? Seriously??? That was our bread and butter last season and he took it away!! He better get this fixed on offense in the off season. He hurt Love's game and it hurt the WR's who couldn't seem to get as open. Injuries to Love did play into it at the beginning, but he should have taken it more seriously. Help your QB to develop not change everything for your running back. Smh

The biggest concern for me is how inaccurate he is. He seems to just launch balls, hoping that the receiver makes a play. He got away with it quite a lot last season, but this year he’s getting intercepted all over the place.

I think that is crazy talk. The execution was the issue all season long . to lay blame down in season 2 of a rebuild is stupid. This team thought it was much farther along than it was and reality happened. The story of this Packers team is still the future to come not the now. This team did not lose because of bad plays . This team lost because of players not playing up to the level they will play too. Young teams like the Packers overachieved last year which set up unreal expectations. The Packers need a few tweeks to be a 17 -0 team in 2024 . The Packers losses were close and competitive and to take anything away from 2024 other than young players having young player issues is too much. LaFleur is a historically good coach and play caller. He has shown over and over again inventive offensive adaptations that are unique and exciting to watch when the players execute them as designed.
The Packers are fine. The defensive rebuild is now 1 season under the books and everything about what they showed as well as the draft picks of the 2024 draft looked to be a solid win with a lot of positive vibes for the future.
Rebuilds take many seasons to build the team that actually wins a championship. The Packers have all the pieces and coaching to be champions and the team now must grow into that which they were brought here to do. That is a multi season proposition that probably pays off over the next three seasons as this group gets NFL level experience.

Rodger’s also had 440 yds and 5 tds in that Playoff game. With a Passer Rating of 121. Best debut in Playoff debut History. Had absolutely 0 Defense that year but Rodgers was absolutely insane and couldn't wait for Year 3.
J Love was the complete opposite with 200 yds, 3 Ints, 0 Tds, and a Passer Rating in the 40s.

    • @Haduj56
      @Haduj56 13 днів тому

@ if love had seasoned pass catchers, we could’ve saw a better game from him. 2 of his ints came from bad routes ran by the WRs, also in the 4th down 6, we just sustained too many injuries vs that caliber of defense. The run game was non existent in this game until jacobs ripped that 30 yarder. Clearly Rodgers is more talented but we can’t deny that he had better weapons around him early in his career. Also love doesn’t need to be a HOF QB for us to win, the defense was good enough but our offense just became too stagnant, due to some poor oline play, poor WR play, poor game plan, poor execution by love as well. He’s only in year 2 and this is literally year 2 of a total rebuild. Arod was not throwing to primarily 2-3 year pass catchers, I think next season, barring injuries, we will see a better tailored game plan for this offense. Remember year one of Jordan love, the offense was supposed to be run heavy with Dillion and jones and love wasn’t supposed to carry the offense the way he did. I think if Matt can fine a good medium of what the run game was this season couple with the play calling from 2023 in the passing game, with hopes of our WR room growing and getting better, our team will be even better. Mind you, the packers on offense and defense we’re still a top 10 team so I think next season we can be true contenders

I genuinely don’t remember who said it, but I remember one of the ESPN analysts, maybe Skip Bayless (can’t stand him but even a broken clock is right twice a day) saying something last season about one of the excuses the packers had for doing as well as they did last year was the fact that no one really had a lot of
Film on Love. This is why the average to even slightly above average QBs will seemingly always have the “sophomore slump.”
We can say whatever we want about mentoring under people like Rodgers and such, but anyone who has worked literally any job in their life knows that the only way you get better at your job is by doing said job, and despite love being in the league for 5 years now? He still only finished his second year as a starter. It sucks that we had to take a gamble on him and pay him so much money, but hopefully he’ll pan out. The guys who make WAYYYY more money than any of us seemed to think it was fit to give him the bag, so I think it’s something we just have to trust and ride out.
Love also seems like more of a pocket passer like Jared Goff or Sam Darnold. I think he’s *slightly* more mobile than either of them, but not by a whole lot.
Losing Jenkins against the eagles was maybe a bigger blow than either Doubs or Reed, but when you lose your #1 the week before then lose your #2 and #3 and arguably your best Offensive lineman, it’s a bad scenario.
They say “defense wins championships” and the defense played admirably, but they’ve been immature/sloppy all year with the boneheaded personal fouls and such and that will kill any team.
Coach insinuated after the game that they need some veterans and more maturity and I couldn’t agree more. This team has a lot of talent, but they have very little discipline and kick themselves constantly with dumb play after dumb play.
I will also echo the others in the comments saying we absolutely need a #1 receiver. We don’t need a Justin Jefferson or Tee Higgins even, but just someone who’s been around the block. I hate to say it because he’s been hurt a lot, but maybe even someone like Keenan Allen, who will probably be let go from the bears, just to come in and mentor the guys for a year?
Lastly, I am not going to do my bears fan impression and blame the refs, but that “fumble” to start the game was absolutely egregious and definitely shifted the momentum widely in the Eagles’ favor

There’s 3 things that I feel really hindered his QB play. 1) Jordan struggles heavily when he tries to play through injuries. Some guys can play a whole season with a fractured back and some guys can’t. Unfortunately, Jordan can’t. 2) because of his injuries Josh had to become the backbone of the offense, so that took the load off Jordan having to throw. 3) the receivers amount of drops. Most of the time they just dropped the ball for no reason seemingly.

In an awful rainstorm and matt, seemed like he kinda changed the offense to more of a run first team. The receivers did not get open like the previous year honestly, it was to be expected from a group of very young players, and they still made the playoffs. Teams are going to study you during the offseason. This is the biggest season coming up. 2025 was always my target year for the packers. To make a serious run at a championship. I'm not too worried about Jordan love either. Aaron Rodgers never did anything like Jordan love. What I mean by is when Aaron Rodgers started his rookie year as a packer he didn't go to the playoffs in his first year or second year. But Jordan love did. When we look at the status of Aaron Rodgers first rookie year and the second rookie year and compare it to Jordan love's first rookie year and second rookie year. There are some status of Jordan Love's has a little bit more status than Aaron Rodgers on certain things but Aaron Rodgers status has a little more better status for Jordan love. I pray that the owner of the Packers will get a good wide receiver because we need more of them because Romeo Dobbs I believe he can be really good but I'm concerning about his two concussions. The other wide receivers like Christian Watson he's getting injured all the time because he is tall and slender and tall people like that gets injured a lot. Wiiks he needs to do better. I'm just very surprised against the eagles game because our defense did a+ job but are offense did a F-job. I don't put 100% onJordan love of him losing the game I believe it's 50% of Jordan love and the other 50% is the wide receivers and Matt lefort calling not good calls.

Matt has to revamp this offense. The passing game is better when you're under. Center more, and you have a running game, not in the shotgun. That's just from my perspective. No matter what analytics say, the good thing is we have plenty of cap. Room, we just gotta make good decisions and not miss on our draft picks. We know what our weaknesses are, plus add at least three free agents who can play, and we should be good. we should know by the halfway point. Next year, if jordan Love is really the guy, I expect a big year from love, and plus, we had two talented rookies who basically red shirted this year, the running back and the offensive lineman

He's not much of a runner either. Hoping he can get better but he had the same problems in college, it might just be who he is at this point, he's been in the NFL for 5 years now and just got a huge contract, I'm done with excuses. He makes a lot of bad decisions and doesn't take what the defenses give him. He needs to stop playing hero ball and take his check downs. Hoping he turns it around but I honestly don't think he will get much better.

Love is garbage. Let’s not sugarcoat it. He never earned his huge contract and that falls totally on the front office. He lacks leadership skills, passion and he throws tons of ducks. Favre threw a lot of interceptions during his time with the Packers, but he was always emotionally in the games. Love looks tuned out and unbothered on the sideline and that impacts the offense. I don’t see him improving in the future. I’d rather see Malik Willis start. He was far more successful than Love when he officially started.

I think the injuries with the receivers and his injuries has affected him in a big way. I think he needs another season under his belt before he reaches that level that were expecting from him honestly. I've been saying this most of the season the drops are very annoying the receivers need to work on proper technique with catching the ball, you're making your quarterback's job harder that's a reason of Jordan love struggles is that the drops and also inaccurate throws at times but the receivers have to catch the ball. That's the only reason I'm saying we might want to look for better receivers that are strong and that could catch the ball. Wix I don't know about him man he drops the ball a lot we need somebody that is more reliable. You're right about Romeo he is good, Christian keeps getting hurt so I don't know he's injury prone honestly even though I like how he plays is not good if you get hurt all the time, and Jayden Reed needs to be consistent with catching the ball he's played good but theres time he drops the ball and Tucker Kraft has been my favorite he's been red hot

Bottom line is, Love is our QB for the next three years or so, so label him what you want. He’ll either get better at decisions and mechanics or he won’t. His injuries may or may not have been a big factor this year. We’ll soon find out, but remember, he was just about the best QB in football the second half of last year. He does need more help at receiver, either a true #1 or else a speed guy (like Watson) who can occupy a safety. Looked like a promising group to start this year, but none of them really progressed and now Watson and Doubs are big question marks.

It seems to me, that our "expectations" has to be matched with due matriculations. Not every QB comes out the box perfect because there are many factors that can add to, or distract from their success; hence, a team effort. Keep in mind, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahommes and Brady aren't the cookie cutters that new QBs are forged from, but rather each has their own skillsets and times to develop maturity. I have a question to consider: name another QB that came after TWO Hall of Famers? And, might I add, was also added to a team with the youngest roster in the league? Further, remember that Jordan 's two years were also Lefleur's first two without ARod. I believe in time; we will all sing the praises of #10! GPG!

  • @thomasmoshier3920

You’ve got multiple issues here. The injuries were a factor. The MCL sprain in particular. He played one series in the preseason. Then in the opener he gets injured missing the next two games. By the time he plays that first game back against Minnesota he looks like a guy who’s missed a lot of time.
Secondly, with the exception of Tucker Kraft, none of the receivers took a real jump to be the guy. Romeo Dobbs was suspended and then hurt. Jayden Reed was average. Tay Wicks was disappointing. Christian Watson seems to always be hurt. And they all had significant drops. I don’t see Gutekunst trading for Davante. And I would prefer Tee Higgins anyway.
Lastly, I think Matt LaFleur’s play calling especially in the first half of games was too conservative. I get it. You want to run the ball. But Love is at his best when he’s out there throwing the ball all over the field and he’s got the defensive on its heels.
I think we’re close and I have confidence Gutekunst will figure it out. I know it was a disappointing end to the season. But consider Dallas and San Francisco last year’s playoff opponents. They didn’t even make the playoffs and have far more serious issues going forward…..

Injuries explains almost everything. One doesn't get over an MCL injury in 2 weeks! Gosh, people need to understand that it can take 8+ weeks to heal an MCL, esp. when you only take 2 weeks off! It takes up to 2 months to heal a pulled groin. Again context matters esp when you have to play the QB1 position. I'm tired of the comparisons to HOF QBs. Wait until he has 3 full seasons in before we do that plz. I know you youngens who only watched Aaron Rodgers play it is maybe hard to not expect it from Jordan. But those comparisons only hurt the player's confidence and puts undue pressure on him, which can also hurt his developement.
Why is it no one is this hard on those WR's that regressed compared to last year? Clearly two of those picks were due to two of our receivers either running inaccurate route depth and the other didn't fight for the ball correctly.
Theres so much nuace to these critiques. I remember when everyone defended Rodgers no matter what and I would really like our fan base to start giving THIS QB1 the same support, not the constant harrassment that has been going on since his 1st start. Geesh people support your team!

I enjoyed the Godfather movies. I and II are better than III. Favre, Rodgers and Love fit the same pattern. The problem goes beyond Love. Have you noticed how many times Love is off balance when he throws the ball? This leads to a loss of accuracy and we then blame the receivers for dropped catches????? Let's not mention the interceptions and turnover / incompletes. Compare Love to that boring old guy, Tom Brady. Can you spot any differences in their techniques? Next, look at protection in the pocket. Love breaks too early and exposes himself to the rus. Imagine a team that had a practice field. Love should plan his strategy, before the game. The receivers should understand how the defense is set up. Too often , the Pack are making it up as they go along. Thrilling fight backs is no way to reach the top. The Vikings and the Lions had a good year but they looked solid. The Packers do not look solid. LeFleur needs to recognize his job in all of this. GPG.😀

Can't figure out if Packer fans are dumb, or just pretending to be?
The Eagles scored 22 pts. with a set-up on opening kick-off fumble, that wasn't.
    Regardless, not on our D.
Our secondary was great!!!... even in a Jaire-Free environment.
Obviously, we (The Packers) need to put pressure on QBs.
    We need and Edge.
Go get a #1 WR? Maybe, or create one.
Packers had no rookies WRs this season. No one steeped up.
Spreading the ball around sounds great, but it ain't working.
Love needs to be accurate or even Jerry Rice wouldn't help.

Jaden Daniels against the Lions is what all Packers fans wished Jordan Love was but clearly isn't.

I agree, he is good and could be MVP level but he has to be consistent and deliver in crunch time.

He seemed to have lost his confidence after getting hurt. I also saw him seem to try and protect himself from further injury, and his throw/footwork seemed off. Hopefully with some work, he will get that back. Having a healthy group of receivers and tight ends will be a good thing for him. I’d like to see the game plan put more points on the board early, so Love doesn’t have to do so much in the second half.

There are a plethora of reasons his play dipped. I wouldn’t be concerned:
    1. I’m not sure he was ever really healthy this year. He rarely ran.
    2. The running scheme changed from an outside zone to inside slashing. Which weakened his ability to roll out.
    3. The receivers weren’t schemed open and they weren’t getting separation as 23.
4 LeFleur came in with a scheme which marries the run and the pass. That wasn’t executed well and defenses caught on. Sure Jacobs got his yards. But it wasn’t married well.

I am worried about Doubs though, with all the concussions he has now. The Packers injurys are one if their biggest problems. The packers also still need help at CB and passrushing. Maybe the offensive line blocking also.

In his first two starting seasons he made the playoffs both seasons his record is almost tied with Aaron Rodgers but what's crazy is he has not had a real deep threat receiver and wants that happens he will be regarded as a top tier elite quarterback

Here is what happened. As the season went on teams started loading the box and blitzing like crazy. They started playing man to man coverage because we don’t have receivers that can get open quick. Lefleur was to busy running whirlybird bird handoffs than the passing game. When Love throws over the middle he throws off his back foot and the ball sales on him! I blame coaching more than blaming Love.

Packers have dominated the NFC North for a long time. Could this be the end? Hopefully, jlove doesn't turn into a turnover machine. Jlove is too wreckless with the ball. Just watch how defensive coordinators are playing him. They're just playing zone. They know he'll try to fit the ball into a tight window. They know he'll give them chance at a turnover. Look at the eagles game and you'll know what I'm talking about.

How do you measure a man? What's inside him when you look at him? How do you know ? I heard a story about belichek turning down a recruit because his grandparents sent him money while he was in school, and the kid took it. Belichek seemed to find the overachievers. Wes Welker, Julian Adelman, Tom Brady, the list goes on. I heard an Australian sheep herder say once that when our dog has a litter of pups, we mark the smallest one. If that dog makes it through till it is weaned, that's the one we choose and train. There's gems out there if you know what to look for.

Like I said. Clifford was sent down because he spoke up. Had nothing to do with his play.
Now Kraft has spoken up. There's a problem that nobody wants to address.

It’s ok to have these expectations for Love at the beginning of the year, but let’s be honest those expectations were never really realistic. 2025 is a year for expectations, it’s year 2 as a starter and the addition of new young players also contributes to Loves development.

If you think Love should be the best qb in the league after 1 year, I think you may be getting ahead of yourself lol

People need to take a deep breath. JLo has the talent to win an MVP in this league. I think they were ahead of schedule last year and this year I thought overall the team was better. Next year is the year the Packers truly make a run at a Super Bowl.

My question is, was love ever considered to be a guy that elevates the talent around him? There are very few in the NFL going into 2025, and tbh you don’t need to be one to win a championship. I think if we put better more polished pieces at WR, we will see love play more consistently. We also need to tweak our game plans to be better situationally.

What I think is elbow was bothering him even though he didn't want but let the team down so I believe he didn't want to fully be honest. Because he wanted to make his team proud. I believe that if Christian Watson didn't get hurt all the time and Romeo Dobbs not getting hurt getting that concussion the first time and other wide receivers stepping up we will probably be in the super bowl 100 % for sure. I had to leave a small second message here. I STILL BELIEVE IN JORDAN LOVE BECAUSE HE HAS A STRONG MINDSET AND YOU CAN TELL BY HIS PERSONALITY HE DOESN'T LET CERTAIN THINGS GET TO HIM.
