Chicago wore Jason down with their extensive touring and passive aggressive leadership. He sounds amazing with these cats and that’s top notch quality right there.
Every single project Deen Castronovo has been involved with has been so incredibly spectacular! The guy can't miss! My all time favorite drummer. And those vocals, major goosebumps.
First time I saw Journey, maybe 20 or more years ago, Steve Augeri was the lead vocalist and Deen, obviously was the drummer, but then he took lead on “Mother, Father” and I was utterly blown away. And no disrespect at all to Augeri but their lead singer was sitting behind the band the whole time.
I suppose I expected him too still look young, we all age . Yes 😢 I'm.53 I didn't think . I always dreamed of a guy like him . They we sings emotions .
He is the original vocalist, Jason Scheff, the lead singer of the Chicago band from 1985 through 2016. "Will You Still Love Me" had been released in September 1986 and it was the first major Jason Scheff hit with the Chicago band. It soared to the top of the charts. It is still a fan favorite.
@waterbabe2697 Yes, I agree the he looks blonder than before. At least he still has that much hair at age 62. I am 10 years younger and have been thinning for many years.
Jason's basswork is always superlative, but his voice here is stunningly perfect!! Better even than the recorded version from 35 years ago!!! How is that even possible??!! Best version I've heard period. Way to knock this out of the park, Jason. I need to go back through your Scheffy bass licks videos. That stuff was just mind-blowing!! Anyone want to know what kind of beast Jason is on bass, track down those vids!
Jason, your voice is like no other. Deene is one gifted singer and drummer. The other singers and musicians are fantastic as well. The Harmonies are so perfect and the ranges. I hope Deene rejoins this group. He’s a huge part of your story. I love how God creates and brings people together. Tom & Chris, wow what gifts you two have. Chris your range is stellar! I hope one day you will come to Chicago. I live in Highland Park and every summer we have Ravinia & Taste of Highland Park. This group would be a perfect fit for the venues. Another lead journey singer Steve Augeri and his band performed. The audience went wild!!! Blessings to all ❤️
My favourite Chicago song aside from Hard Habit to Break. And no need for horns that's why it is not often included in Chicago's repertoire. Bill and Jason are my favourites. Three decades is no joke. What a feat for this two musical legends! ❤
Goosebumps the whole way through. Jason sounds just as good as the first time I saw him Chicago. And Jay, well it’s awesome to hear him get some lead vocals! His harmonies are spot on, as we’ve come to expect. Chris always slays on guitar and harmonies. This is pure gold and gave me all the feelings.
My fav Chicago song. Love this newer version. Still love the original 80s version and the vibe in the music video. Takes me back. Keep it up guys…sounding amazing!
This song was part of my wedding video. Huge fan of Chicago. I'll have to say one of the best performances of this classic. You guys sound incredible. Congratulations to you all!
The ultimate be all of super groups! Great to hear Jason reprise this Chicago hit with the new band. And those harmonies! Of course, Deen on drums is always top shelf! 👊
Great performance ! Jason sounds fantastic and there is no need to compare Him with Peter Cetera . But ... This is so huge Hit !!! Peter should face this song
To hear Jason sing again is so inspiring! Great job Jay getting these amazing talents, you included. I can hear Jason's influence on your music and writing. You're all ICONS!
Que hermosa la voz de Jason , me alegra haberlo visto todavía en un concierto con la gran banda Chicago, los años pasan pero el verdadero talento jamás se acaba !!
Damn! Nostalgic. One of my most played song in my playlists. Chicago version with Jason sounds more mellow than this pop version. It sounds great equally though.
This is so weird - I've had your studio version of this on my playlist for like 8 months, it's sooooo good and such an improvement over the original -- And I see just yesterday you post this :o .. So, if you're asking what our favorite Chicago song for suggestions of a next cover, I can totally see you guys shredding Hard to Say I'm Sorry/Get Away :D
I still want Bill Champlin singing with Jason. No disrespect to any of these spectacular musicians. Jason and Bill just sound so incredible together.
Agreed. The backing vocal doesn't contrast enough. But still well done, all said.
True❤
This vocalist was great IMO.
Agree, but the vocalists covering the Champlin part still killed it IMO
bill champlin will always be bill champlin. and that's the reality
Chicago wore Jason down with their extensive touring and passive aggressive leadership. He sounds amazing with these cats and that’s top notch quality right there.
❤❤❤100 %agree!!!
@@Cindy875 thank you 🙏
Amen to that!! I've always preferred his singing to Peter's.
Me too!
And proper music engineering
Amazing voice the vocalist of Chicago.........Jason ........thank you for the golden voice
Every single project Deen Castronovo has been involved with has been so incredibly spectacular! The guy can't miss! My all time favorite drummer. And those vocals, major goosebumps.
Indeed. Deen is really a specially talented musician.
Agree

Same! And his band Revelation Saints is a bad ass Journey on steroids!
Dean Castronovo on drums.!!! Awesome musician 😍🙃🤩
Deen is the best
Christ his voice is getting better with age!!..
No it's always better when your younger . 🎉 Still good .
Jason is such an underrated bassist!
Why my eyes tear drop ? . . . .
I still remember the time he sung this song in Chicago
Always the same and Amazing
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
I suppose I expected him too still look young, we all age . Yes 😢 I'm.53 I didn't think . I always dreamed of a guy like him . They we sings emotions .
1986
WOW! So great to hear Jason singing this song again. Jay as the second lead vocal nails this - it's truly a pleasure! Thank you so much
Right??!! His voice is pure gold
What about Tom Yankton also killing vocals
The longest lead singer of Chicago since Peter Cetera leave the band Chicago in the 80s
In my opinion this song is Jason's best song and my favorite. This is his baby
@@jonathanyarbrough1totally agree Tom is fantastic. Doesn't get the props he deserves.
the vocalist even looks like the vocalist in the original, great cover guys

Bass line is smooth like butta! Amazing!
He still has it!
Best version of this song I've heard
One of my all time favorite Chicago songs.
Sweet bassline with amazing vocals

@@guilejupiter8 well Peter Cetera is 77 or so and Jason is barely 60. 😉
He’s got some weird folksy pronunciation sometimes.
@@guilejupiter8 dude, no.
Great rendition of one of the best Chicago songs. Luv it

Nothing like the original singer! ❤❤❤

Not my favorite era of Chicago, but this is (obviously) extremely well done.
WOW! Just found this. What other songs did they do live together before Deen went back to Journey? Do they have a replacement for him???
Amazing❤️
Jason Scheff is BACK.
