- Hi. This clip shows you how to restrict & de-restrict a Super Soco TS, TSx, CUx or TC. ** Please note, Green-Mopeds accepts no liability for any affects these changes have on your insurance, legality to ride or warranty on the bike if these changes are made **. You are advised to contact your insurer if de-restricting the bike as this is affectively changing the bike from an L1e to an L3e (50cc to 125cc). Please do not do this on the TC Max as it will REDUCE your speed.
Green-Mopeds.com is a London based electric-only moped and motorcycle dealer and importer. We started in 2017 by signing a dealership with Torrot (torrot.com/) after initially seeing an electric moped for rent on holiday in Portugal.
Since then we looked for more brands and became the UK Importer for ECCity Motorcycles from France (www.eccity-mot...) and then Super Soco (supersoco.co.uk/) from China.
In early 2018 we were then approached by Askoll (www.askollelec...) to be their first London dealer and soon followed by Lifan who were lauching their first moped the E3 (www.lifanmotos.....
Later in 2019 we also signed up with SurRon with their hugely popular and lightweight LBX Lightbee (www.sur-ron.com)
Mid 2019, we signed up to be the first dealer for Niu (www.niu.com) and sold the first 9 of their new NGT model when it was launched at the end of 2019.
In early 2020 the UK Importer for Torrot moved on to other things and we became their importer to support existing customers of the Muvi range.
Later in 2020 after a request from a customer, we signed up with Artisan (artisanscooter...) to sell not only their brand but also Horwin (www.horwinglob...) and Kollter (www.kollter.com/).
We have been approached by many manufacturers to become their importers which we will consider when the time is right.

The bike comes restricted to 28mph/45kmh. This procedure enables the bike to go as fast as it can

@@willstudios6475 Dont think so. Only buy a more powerful battery would do. Ive seen som guy did it with 72 (something) battery and it went faster but i belive the battery was quite expensive.
It worked in my 2021 soco tc, but when i try to limit it back it goes to 25kph in all modes, how do i make it back like it was? With 45kph in third

Question about your video: how do you know if the bike is in restricted mode or de-restricted mode? Is there an indicator on the display or something?
Only by riding it I'm afraid. As the technique is a toggle of de-restricted/restricted and back again, you just need to do it and try it out
Green-Mopeds Thanks! Can I ask another question? After my test drive I thought, it might be nice if my feet could be more forward.. I know the foot legs can be adjusted up or down, but I winder can I simply turn them around to put the foot legs forward for a more upright feel?

I just bought a Soco TC and when I tried to derestrict it, it could only do 25kmh in settings 1, 2 and 3 which made no difference to the power output... So when I did it again then it went back to doing about 65-70 kmh so I guess soco TC can only do 70kmh max right? Or did I do something wrong?
De-restricting of a TC gets it's to 70kmh not more
@@GreenMopeds I think this answered my question. Top speed on 3 (on a flat road) gets me around 70km. That's the TC's absolute top speed?

Got a TS model and i also reached 70 km/h when unlocked the speed but usually around 68 - 70 km/h.
I wonder if that would work with the TC Max 🤔 or Is the TC Max is a already unrestricted normal TC 🤔
It could do. The motor is 5kw so its not an unrestricted TC no. Its also mounted in the middle of the bike rather than hub
We have tried this and the answer is unfortunately no it doesn't work
@@GreenMopeds TC MAX is limited to 70km hr now if i did the method you showed in the video would it work to 100km hr instead of 70km hr thank you
TC Max is 95kph, in what country do they limit to 70kph? It might work there but in the UK the TC Max is not limited. Only the board and cables limit the power output of the battery.
I know in Australia they restrict the 50cc scooters there to 50kph. I know because I had a unrestricted moped/scooter its top speed was 85kph!

@Green-Mopeds After seeing this and a very similar sequence do the same on the lexmoto cypher do you have any ideas if the WK E-Colt 50 has any kind of sequence like this to de-restrict it? or if the E-Colt can be de-restricted at all? any help would be appreciated, thanks

Its already de-restricted unfortunately. If you try that procedure on it, it actually reduces the speed.

You need a firmware downgrade

@@davebrooks69 Really, by definition if it doesnt work then you probably need to downgrade your firmware. Additionally, if you bike is newer than 03/2019 then its likely it has newer firmware

How much does this effect the battery, I know you can driva about 60 km in 45 miles per hour but how far if the bike is unlocked?

Can the very latest models be derestricted in this way. I was told they could not.
You might be able to if you roll back the firmware which a dealer can do if they have the hardware and software

Same.procedure. If it doesn't work then you might have to roll.baxk the firmware to 2019
How do I do downgrade the firmware?

You need the correct lead to connect to the 30pin connector on the controller and then the right firmware
Hei, Nice video. Thnx. Topspeed of 45km/h is fine for me. Is it possible to d something with the acceleration. It accelerates slowly to 45km/h.

I was thinking of getting the tc because it is cheaper then tc max now I know this I am getting one. How fast does it go now.

What about keeway e-zi ?
the e-zi is only 1kw, 48v and 20ah (960 wh) which means underpowered and low mileage in my opinion.
I have heard that the 2020 year bikes are no longer able to be derestricted using this method, is this True?
Tc Max is correct, I'm hearing that too about the others but I try it with all bikes we get and it still works

depends on the load, terrain and how fully charged the battery is but about 55
Does this method work in Sweden? They sell the super socco tc as a 50cc moped only allowed to go 45 km/h.

I have tried this a lot of Times now on my super soco in the Netherlands. But it doesn't work! These things are only allowed to go 45km/h here and I wonder if the function to deristrict is removed for the dutch market?
i would be surprised if the mainland europe models are different to the UK models as they are homologated to the same standard. You definitely had the stand down?

As per the instructions but we have just discovered one that cannot be connected to have its firmware downgraded

Depends on the firmware. If it's too new then unlikely that procedure will work
can you do a de-restricting with the niu n1s?
Riders cannot unfortunately and it is unknown that the warranty will be honoured by the importer if it's done. (The Super Soco Importer does honour the Warranty on their bikes)
Is there any bad consequence for the bike doing this?
The more power you use, the less range you get but other than that no

We have never heard of a battery fire on any electric moped whether they are de-restricted or not

I got a black TS and did exactly as in this video. I got my up to 68 - 70 km/h. Are currently riding it to my work. Own the bike for 2 years and it still running fine without any battery issue. 😀

@@GreenMopeds When you pull away from a stoplight it goes to 52 max. Then the restrictor kicks in and settles at 45 kmp/h. Does not go faster than 45 until you completely stop again, same story, quick pull away from traffic light. Then settles back down to 45.

No. On the V1 version it actually reduces the speed, V2 and V3 no affect

Yes. You need to remember that the bike is made to 45kmh so anything else is a bonus
