The contrast in tone is staggering jeez
The cringe quips are bad enough as is, but what makes them worse is that they’re clearly trying to be like overwatch by making the characters seem “quirky” and “relatable,” which it fails terribly at because the game itself is going for a gritty, post-apocalyptic theme that makes the goofy ass lines feel horribly out of place

Don't forget overwatch for bf2042...
Apex has less cringe than bf2042
BF2024 - Fortnite
Nope, overwatch and apex replicas are much better, they fit the game style and lore perfectly. But in 2042 post-match speech is so cringy.
Fortnite has voicelines now? But overwatch and apex actually fit their games
the best bf3 voice line is easily: "I'M GETTING FUCKED IN THE ASS OVER HERE!!"

These voice lines actually show the main (imo) difference between the two games.
Almost all of 2042's lines in this video were about what the character did while 3's were about what the team needs to do.
The franchise has gone from a team based thriller to another "operator" shoot n' slide.
Yeah. Too much "ME ME ME!!!" in BF2042 and all games like it(Apex, CoD, Overwatch).
They removed the scoreboard to not hurt feelings, but push this "Look at me I'm so good" after each match. Contradictory and stupid.
@@louisarius9672 Overwatch at it's best actually did a solid job promoting teamwork. Copying its "looking for group" feature would have actually been good for BF. Copying its scoreboard? Not so much. But your point is still valid.
Whoa, this is the best way I have seen someone explain it.
BF3 was the best Battlefield of all time. Rest-in-peace Battlefield franchise.
Don't be sad, this is just how it works out sometimes.
bf3 and bf4 are about tied
@@miruhcle9981 reason why bf3 is better was for its time and the immersive feeling, I can say that bf4 was also the best bf but bcs bf3 was before it, it deserves the higher spot, there both the best still
No all you cucks just need to hop back on to BF3. We don't need a remaster, the best FPS is already there.
@@miruhcle9981BF4 is a good game, but the immersion of BF3 is unmatched. If that game had 120 Hz servers and a graphics update, I think people would choose BF3 over BF4.
BF4 had a very rushed development, and they weren't able to add in all the small details that made BF3 so great. They were able to patch the game, and it plays good today, but they still left all the little things out.

I will never forget the moment I was on operation metro in BF3 and I heard “HERES A GRENADE FOR YOU *BITCH* ” blare from the enemy moments before I exploded
I was on metro towards the back in the buildings. And I threw some C4 at the wall to blow up people who came up and my guy was like "throwing down some C4 to blow those mother fuckers up"
I thought it was “heres a grenade for you *fuckers* ”
thats the best line "fire in the hole" i ever heard.
Metro was the last great nu Battlefield experience you could get
Almost as good as hearing a Spartan tell "they stuck me!" Moments before blowing up. Always makes me laugh.
You can actually hear the "I really wish I weren't here right now" button the 2042 voice actor is wearing, it's amazing.
How did Battlefield go from some of the best immersive voice lines in the whole industry with the likes of BF1, to this absolute dogshit
Because butt hurt snowakes get offended easily so they gotta make it PG-13
The people who made BF1 (and games prior) left DICE after that game, the rest go after the disaster of BFV. 2042 was made by new people who was directed by shit executives, basically a bad cocktail.

Watching EA gradually sanitize the experience of war while making a war game is incredible.
Thats a perfect way to put it. Sanitizing.
I always like to call BF2042 a sterile shooter.
But hey, that's what all the streamers like Danny and Westie asked for, when they feverishly protested the excellent animation work done in BFV.
_""This/that is waay too realistic and it's slowing down my gameplay""_ is what got us this sterile shootey game. Because nobody wants immersion or realism anymore, just rigid boring gamey mechanics
@@pissyourselfandshitncoom2172
Honestly the animations added a lot to gameplay imo. Like reviving teammates, you couldnt just walk over, look down and press a button. You actualy had to put yourself at risk to save a squad member which made for some badass moments when i played. Rushing over to a downed player in a firefight and hoping to god the bullets dont hit me
@@pissyourselfandshitncoom2172 you should give escape from tarkov a try they’re adding a inertia and a whole host of other things to the game quite literally this or next month
@@armintor2826 You know, that made me think...what if, while under the suppression effect that BF is so proud of, there's a chance to get a fumble animation for reloading or switching gear, where you drop your magazine or struggle to get something out of a pouch? That'd be quite interesting and also put an additional effect on suppression other than "huh I should go to the optometrist"
To this day, Bad Company 2 still has the best voice lines and sound effects in the franchise. The crack of gunfire was some of the most realistic I've ever heard in a game, the voice lines were fairly realistic, ESPECIALLY THE RUSSIANS ACTUALLY SPEAKING RUSSIAN. (A pet peeve of mine in a lot of games, especially big budget ones.)
BF1 has superior sound design overall though.

Wow…. What amazing and immersive writing…
I'm sure that's exactly what a soldier would say after witnessing countless of his friends and comrades die in horrible ways while also merely avoiding death himself. William got caught in the explosion and had both of his legs leave his body, as well as his right arm. While he was being carried away from the battlefield he was crying: "I WANNA GO HOME AND DRIVE MY HONDA, HOW THE FUCK AM I GONNA DO THAT NOW?!". Cole caught a bullet straight into his forehead and during the last few seconds of his unfortunate life he was trying to find and collect his own brains. Martin ate a good amount of bullets and on his last breath, with tears on his eyes, he whispered "Mom, dad, I know I could've been a better son, but... sorry..." Yeah, all this stuff was very fun, we should do it again sometime later.

3's voicelines: *actual soldiers in a dire war with no way out*
2042's voicelines: *some kids in a sandbox making castles together and their mommies call them over*
What is the most ironic is:
BF 2042 is literally set in the post apocalypse, most of the characters nations are long gone, either to the environment or due man-made stuff (economics, 'intervention' of the Super powers, etc), yet the No-Pats, people who does not have a home, and most work for the super powers that likely cause the apocalypse itself, act like 12 year old playing laser tag.
"That was so fun, I just killed a ton of people and watch my friends die!", "Wow, this was easy, better luck committing war crimes next time"
It's so damm out of place

Well said….and when we come home, that language is hard to break..hard to fit in with most conversation with the general population…once you have rounds crack past your head, the little things don’t seem to matter as much anymore.

@@TracknerZoggt 100%. You couldn't make a vietnam game like this today. It's such a stupid time.
Heck you play as freakin marines, most crude and fucked up branch in the military so hearing these lines are no surprise and very fitting
I swear DICE just got a bunch of actual marines to scream the voice lines for BF3 lmao
This is partly true, for BF3, there was one vet who was also our consultant on how to ad-lib various scenarios. May have been one or two more vets in the sessions. The same consultant, our ”actual”, was doing the same thing in BF4, but the profanity was restricted to be non-homophobic. Which perhaps is a wee bit less realistic, but there are many ways to get it done without being homophobic. All in world screams were ad libbed in BF4, just as for BF3. Radio lines partly ad libbed, partly scripted.
BF1 however there was no vet involved (lol), though historians were on, fact checking (for all languages, but a bit more extra resources on english, as they would check other things besides VO). The similarity of all in world shouts for BF3, 4, 1 & 5 lies in working hard towards gaining physicality in the performances, with various techniques that likely aren’t common in the VO-business overall.

BF 2042: “That was easy.”
THe thing that makes BF3 voice lines so great, is that there are a few odd pauses in between words, like the soldier is thinking for a second what to say next in the middle of the battle. It adds just that little bit more realism to the line.
A large portion of the in-game shouts are improvised with directions to a certain scenario, that's part of what help give it a more realistic feel.
In BF1, the voice actors were told to wear weighted vests and even threw bricks at each other in the middle of shouting so we got a pretty immersive experience from that game's sound design. BF2042's voices and ambient sounds are just.... off.
@@SSgtJ0hns0n yes, for BF1 we did lots of by-the-time new ways to record/perform in order to get a more naturalistic and physical touch.
Would assume they've utilized similar techniques for 2042, but most of the recordings would have been done remotely Covid-19-style, so it's highly unlikely that they had ensemble-recordings - in which actors actually help pushing one-another and helps getting the style and tone more coherent for each category of shout/event. Most of BF1 InGame shouts are not improvised, however, and it's probably the same for 2042. Improvising lines is difficult to get right, but there are ofc. ways to get it done well... :)

“I think I pulled something back there.” Yeah, you’re big takeaway is that you should stretch first before you, you know, GO TO WAR.
i’m pretty sure they just reused mckay’s voice lines for the portal characters
It's whoever that player has selected as the specialist in the main game who has voice lines in the post game thing, cause I've heard the others ones too
They reused them all they don’t even move their mouths!
@@Nate-mq4rh That doesn't make sense because Mackay is a locked specialist, and I heard these lines in Portal on Day 1 of early access.
@@jamil027 mckay and 2 other characters but you’ll hear them from other players using him
They're either bugged or just placeholders. Pretty silly either way. I'd prefer just silence for the end of round screens.
My favorite part of bf1 was how you weren’t and individual, it showed how most people were just another number in that war. Now everyone has a quirky voice line and is the main character.
Battlefield 1 is the Battlefield game that made me feel the most like I was an expendable soldier. No matter how good I was, how many I killed before going down, I still went down, and was mostly forgotten. Only for another to take my place to continue the carnage. Bad Company 2 felt like that, too, to a smaller extent. I still think BF1 is the best looking in the franchise, easily. The textures and look of mud and grime, especially it coating your weapon over time, was an amazing thing.
Seratha Evistille truly a masterpiece of a game
@@serathaevistille995 2042 feels to clean.
@@serathaevistille995 EXACTLY! BF1 makes you feel like a random soldier fighting in a war and no matter what you do you can't survive, and then after that soldier dies you just start controlling another one that will die too. The dark colors, all the mud, the screams, the noise, all of it just makes the game my favorite BF
Battlefield : Narcissism
This like one of those scenes in Demolition Man where the citizens were not allowed to swear anymore.
The intensity of the bf3 voices actually hype up the game. Also this video gave me a ton of nostalgia omg
‘We are Russians, we don’t fucking lose, blyat’ the best voice line 😂
Afghanis: ...
But I have to admit, it's funny lol
One the best lines from the BF3 russian announcer is
“First motherfucker dead. Good!”
Literally made me laugh, lmao.

Oh no... Apparently They can lose.
This game was made for children.

@@DrivebyCreampie So is COD but everyone still played warzone. Just can't please everyone. Play 'Hell let loose' if you want a "adult" game. Smh

If I recall correctly not many kids played battlefield 3 when it came out since call of duty was still big during that time.

I cant believe the same company that made BF1 so brutal and horrifying, was responsible for Call Of Apexwatch 2042. Even BFV managed to be more serious than 2042.
Call of Fortnite Apexwatch 2042
BF1 to this day is still the most immersive, viceral and intense BF game I've ever played. And I say that whilst Bad Company 2 is still my long standing favourite. Nothing will ever top BC2. If we get a BC3, ever, it will be a sore disappointment.

Man, I loved Battlefield 3, I still play it sometimes.
Can you still play multiplayer?
@Back Fisch Awesome. Thanks man.
@@tomato1087 Definitely, on PC there're still some servers with a constant high amount of players, on Us, Germany and Brazil even. Can't say on consoles though, for I hadn't logged on my ps3 in looong time.
@@thiagoalves6649 That's freaking awesome! i played BF4 on PS4 before but most of their servers was no longer active so i was really sad.
I need to buy a PC first lol
@@thiagoalves6649 On PS3 there are a few hundred people playing, at least in Europe. In server browser there are usually 1,5-2 pages of full or close to full servers. Also there's one server with only DLC maps.
My favorite line in 3 was always "Come on man, you're a killing machine!", a teammate would yell that to you while being suppressed in MP, if memory serves.
Honestly BF3/BF4 has the most epic voice line overs!
The more I think about Battlefield 3, the more I realize how much of a masterpiece it is.
It was the best
Hell yeah!
I want to buy it
Battlefield 3 is second only to battlefield 1 imo
Both are pure chaos, but battlefield 1 is just so gritty
@alexanderklein6163 yeah I can understand that
I just prefer BF1 because of the setting, and the fact there wasn't that many OP weapons
BF3 was amazing though. Shame they shut down the servers
my favorite line from BF3: "I'M GONNA TEAR 'EM A NEW ASSHOLE!!"
Bf3 soldiers: crayon eaters
Bf2042 soldiers: Inclusive
Lmao the non game ending ones actually sound very real to what I use to hear in the army 🤣🤣
And imagine, during development DICE touted 2042 as being a “love letter” to longtime fans of the franchise.
Probably one of the biggest slaps in the face that's come out of this whole shit show.
More like love letter to longtime fans of other series that make more money than BF does.
Im a long time fan and I havent touched it since the beta. Sad times.
That's the phrase I am continually being brought back to whenever I'm reminded what a pile of dog shit BF2042 is.
It was! It said "Fuck off."
@@lancesmites346 😂😂😂
Why? Everyone in 2042 sounds like they're trying to have a 'personality' or 'quips' when they strongly don't need to. Everyone speaks in a calm tone so you can "empathize with them" and "immerse yourself in their story", when that's not at all what's supposed to happen in this setting. This kind of dialogue works in games where each character is designed to stand out against each other in a way that means something. For example, Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch.
Generic screaming soldiers aren't just important purely for nostalgia and tradition. It is an intentional decision to capture the stress of active combat in an audible manner, and giving the player's voice an accent based on their nationality which sounds like everyone else drives home the feeling of being part of an expansive team. This makes large firefights sound intense because you can't make out any specific voice actor or character in all the screaming and callouts. If nothing else, it perfectly accentuates Battlefield's massive team system.
It should also be noted that personality can still be achieved despite what sounds like generic yelling, with different characters being identified by their tone, what they say, their accent, so on.
As you pointed out, sounding "quirky" is out of place; I'd add that it has now become generic.
Imo Irish is the least annoying one. “We play this smart and everyone goes home.” He sounds like he is trying to survive and not make “funny” quips
@@autonomousfortune753 agreed irish has the best lines
Everytime i heard those voicelines i laughed or atleast smiled
And the best part is they actually made good version in my language letting the actors have freedom making the voicelines, old dice was pure passion....
Hearing them in combat with gunfire and explosions ringing out is just a different feeling
Dude bf3 lines will forever be the best ones next to bad company 2 😂 MAN I FELT THAT ONE IN MY LEFT NUT still makes me crack up all these years later.. Good times
BF1 in my mind has the best voice lines.
WHY?
They all speak in their own language and accent
British speak British English
Americans, American English
Germans, Italians, Austro-Hungarians, Ottomans, French.
And they all talk like they are actually in a fracking battle, Yelling., coughing.
the best if you ask me.
You're quite right, but BF3 voicelines also deserve some love
Exactly, because it feels realistic and immersive(truly, not just the catchy expression), for me BF1 is the golden standard for sure!
BF1's voice lines were absolutely amazing. They expressed so much fear and torment, you really felt like you were in the middle of a brutal battle to the last man. No other game has compared to the sheer intensity of BF1 for me. At least no MP shooters. Then there was the amazing soundtrack which really emphasized the intensity of combat.
Meanwhile 2042 has these cringy middleschooler lines, and a soundtrack (if you can even call it that) which sounds like a collection of static and random sounds. My friends genuine first reaction to the 'music' was "What's that annoying buzzing sound?.. Wait, is that supposed to be music!?"
@@G7ue 💯, the BF soundtrack went from Hans Zimmer to island boys 😂
"DOOSHMAN TAYARE!"
I always loved the Battlefield 3 voice lines, they were always so hilarious to me. Something wonderfully cheesy about the Russian voice actor too. XD
Battlefield 3 was pure masterpice... I even played it 6 years later to 100% Platinum on my Ps3. Which was hard because of the low player amount on the dlc's maps/mode etc (I was only missing like 5 trophies). Took me about 3 months when I started it. Kinda a mental breakdown, but worth it.
Loved the bf3 voice lines 😂 bf4 was okay, 2042s is just 🤦🏻
BF4 was just PG rated. I remember one time playing Medal of Honor with my brother and my mom came in upset that they were swearing and my brother just said "It's war, what do you want them to say? Oh, gosh darn, I've just been shot?"
He predicted 2042.
@@JZStudiosonline BF4 had recycled BF3 voice lines but censored them. It was the beginning of the end. It makes sense because BF3 won a lot of COD players and they got ahead of themselves.
Bf1 were pretty intense
@@jorge8108 its a whole other language. The best imo
@@artiew8718 BF4's brazilian voice-over is just a swear heaven lmao, I crack up everytime I hear them saying something.
Don’t forget the BFBC2 Drone line: “Find a bad guy, I’ll get you ice cream for dinner.”

BF3 they speak like actual soldiers in battle, in BF2042 they speak like what teenagers think soldiers talk like in battle.
