      You're exactly what I want to do with my Polo, bigger pipe and standard air box. Later get better filter. Soon branches for exhaust

    can't really hear a difference between stock and aftermarket. but you would get better airflow/less resistance into the engine seeing the steel pipe is smooth inside with no ridges as the stock pipe. nice upgrade

      Upon idle and low revs there is no sound difference, but when driving and there is a little bit of load on the engine from about 3000 rpm - 5000 rpm it sound a bit more throaty. I think it will change more when I do further improvements to the intake setup like the BMC performance air filter and a remap

    great work! just noticed you guys in SA have manual door mirrors maybe a future upgrade to electric adjustable mirrors like UK?

      I have been thinking about that, I should do some research on how to retrofit an electrical unit and see if I can make it work

    Nice 👊🏻 just got a free flow exhaust muffler on my polo vivo 2011. Looking to do a intake also. What clams would be nice for a 1.4 polo vivo? I ONLY focus visual upgrades for now. I dont know what engine mods to do that are safe for engine. Keep it up great videos.

      Don't bother trying to mod the vivo cls engine it wasn't made for power. Rather focus on the visual mods

      @@sh1tsfcked119 Thinking of getting a Golf 7 1.2/1.4 tsi for an upgrade. Would be nice to visually upgrade it. love my polo but think its time to go modern, but still fuel efficiency.

      @@HRCUSTOMZ. yes smart choice man, you would spent alot of money to get small power gains on the vivo. Those newer turbo engines get much more boost from just ecu remaps and intakes

    • @360-Speed
      @360-Speed  2 роки тому +2

      Actually, the clp and cls engines has very good power gain potential if you do a proper intake, exhaust and tune. Autowerks has jumped from 77kw to 97kw on their development polo vivo 1.6. With both the 1.4 and 1.6 engines you can gain 20kw easy, the best part is you also get better fuel consumption if you manage to drive normally. My opinion is it’s easy to just buy something that has a small displacement with a turbo added, I just think its boring because I love exploring what the n/a engines can put out when you start to do some r&d on them. Case in point, the new Ford Figo 1.5 3cyl (n/a) pushes 87kw so small engines does have the potential to make decent power

    • @sh1tsfcked119
      @sh1tsfcked119 2 роки тому

      That figure that autowerks got was on a Dyno on the coast, it won't be the same everywhere. I'm not saying the Vivo engine is bad it's just the cost to get minimal 20kws is alot, all those things you mentioned will cost 10k or more I know cause ive done it The engine doesn't like to be red lined either

    This is a awesome video, but my question is? Did you take out the air filter out of the air box?

    • @360-Speed
      @360-Speed  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you very much. To answer your question, no the air filter is still there, but I will be replacing it with a BMC flat pad performance air filter and later in the future I will dyno my car with the stock setup, then with just the new intake and lastly with new intake pipe and filter to see if there is any performance gain overall.

      The metal pipe diameter is a little wider maybe so it will sound a little more responsive but probably not too much difference yeah

    nice editing skill great content but lets get to the intake. changing the induction piping does not do anything its about changing the actual filter behind the pipe then youll hear a big difference regarding 'intake noises" try taking out the intake box itself add thhe pipe directly to where the box connects underneath and then putting a cone filter at he very front where the orange 3d printed thing is.

    • @360-Speed
      @360-Speed  Рік тому

      It does make a difference and a big one at that. There is a bigger amount of air being funnelled (ventury effect) to the airbox. I get that it doesn’t make a huge increase in power, but there is some power being freed up. Throttle response is better and so is fuel consumption. The modification you’re describing works just as well if you don’t want to retain the OEM airbox or the OEM+ look which I am. The problems you run into to make that version work properly is the fact that you have to tune the engine accordingly to reap the full benefits of such an intake. If there’s a budget in place and tuning isn’t an option, then that intake will also not be in the cards for most people. I will be doing a test in the future with the OEM parts vs modified version and see if there is any power advantage and compare them with the cone filter equivalent. ✌️
