Love your tutorials. Really helpful. You know this stuff inside and out. Do you have any videos, or can you suggest any for the theory side. Just like in the EQ segment, you describe it so now I understand what to listen for, and why I'm doing those adjustments. Thanks.
Hi. Very grateful for this, and have subscribed. So please forgive; when you get to "limiter" you say set threshold to 5", but as the screen shot vanishes I note also a "make up " setting, a "knee" setting, a "look ahead" setting, and also a release setting which can all be adjusted. Why do you not reference them? Are they not needed for vocals, even though adjustable? This is not being "picky", I really appreciate all you've helped with here, but as your compressor settings are all mentioned I wonder why these Limiter settings are not? Thanks Steve
Great catch, Steve! It seems I might have limited my explanation of the limiter settings! I’ll keep that in mind for next time-no settings left behind!
Always interesting how you manage to improve audio. Thank you for sharing. When should "Noise Reduction" be applied? Before or after E N C N L? (or somewhere between?)
Where in your chain would you recommend adding Loudness normalization? I usually add it after compressor and then end with the limiter. Instead of a 2nd normalize like you use.
Great question! While many prefer adding Loudness normalization after the compressor, it can also be effective before the limiter. It really depends on the sound you're going for. Experiment and see what works best for your mix!
Thanks sir for this great job. I would like you to help me understand please, how to handle mixing and mastering of difference harmonical voices in audacity? sound producer trick for voices layering, mixing and mastering.
I use a Blue Snowball iCE USB Mic for recording a radio sports show. Because nine-tenths of the tech talk goes over my head, what ONE major change to the frequencies etc would improve what I've got, please?
I don't use this function much but it is frustrating trying to record audio into Audacity from the net. I get all my settings goofed up in my pc and Audacity. Is there a way to do that simply without changing a lot of settings? I'm using RCaster 2.
I totally understand your frustration! Recording audio can be tricky, especially with all the settings involved. Have you tried using a dedicated audio routing tool? It might simplify the process for you!
Hi Mike, can you make a video of how to edit AI generated music? For example, I have a huge problem removing unwanted shrill sounds from the song without ruining the whole song. AI generated music has its own problems, and I hope you have tips to make them sound natural.
Thanks for the suggestion! Editing AI generated music can definitely be tricky. I’ll work on putting together some tips and techniques to help with those pesky shrill sounds!
@@MikeRussell Thank you, Mike. I bet it will be your most popular video in the future because so many are doing AI songs at the moment and they want to upgrade them.
You are the man Mike!!!!!!!!!!!! I remember this from when you did ENCN in Audition many moons ago!!!!
Thanks! Means a lot you remember the old ENCN workflow 😉
Quick, concise, clear and simple. Outstanding. Cheers Mike!
Glad you liked it!

Thanks a ton! I’m stoked you’re finding the tutorials useful! I’ll see what I can whip up on theory for you-stay tuned!
THANK YOU. I just recorded my 2nd ever visualization and had no idea what to do with the audio. This helped SO MUCH. So grateful.
Great to hear it!
Thank you. This is the best edit video, it's made a huge difference to my audio. I never understood equalization, this has helped. Thank you again.
Glad it helped!

You're welcome, I'm glad I could help!
Mike! You did it again. Thank you. Off to try!
You can do it!
Thank you Mike. My first Learning lesson of Audacity been great!
Great to hear!

Always noise reduction first.
thank you for updating
Pleasure!
That's great! Looking forward to trying it! Thanks Mike!
Hope you enjoy it!
Better now, with Audacity 3.6.4 !
Do you do the same techniques for music vocals (singing) in Audacity?
Yes, I use similar techniques for music vocals in Audacity! It's a great tool for both spoken and sung content.
Big Mike.... Thank you
You bet.

Mike, do you recommend ENCN for Audition or Premiere Pro audio?
Sure, it's great!

Good effort, Please make a complete tutorial on Audicity like Adobe Audition Thanks.
I have a few in my channel already.
What is the best audio editing software for you?
Or do you think? For Davinci Resolve 19 ? Audio editing
Adobe Audition still works well.
@@MikeRussell but I love Davinci Resolve 19
Thank you!

Totally get you on the tech stuff! If you boost those mid frequencies a bit, it should help your voice pop on the mic. You got this!
Great, so how do I automate all of this so that I can run all of my audio through this particular sequence of effects?
Audacity Macros are the way to go.
Thnx
No prob! Glad you liked it! 😊
Can the same technique be applied on Audition?
Sure!
@@MikeRussell awesome
