Jeff, Make a appointment have them fix it and don't leave till it's fixed. It's under warranty man.
Right
yes that sounds good but my schedule is all over the place and this is the closest dealership almost an hour away...Ill be having them check it again the next trip, I feel like they need a handful of nozzles to try until one works lol theres nothing esle they can do outside of jimmy rigging it and putting in a wedge of some kind to angle it down...
Make it a part of your next appointment where you need other things done. But get them to commit to fixing now, in advance of the next time you visit.
I'm having the same issue with mine on the passenger side
Final inspection is one of the keys of a good mechanic.
I agree, no ones perfect but check your work
Same applies in all trades. I'm a carpenter by profession. Wish people took pride in their work again.
I would expect it to perform correctly. Period. They need to get it right
I used to work at an automotive shop. Every job pretty much charged a shop supply fee unless we were feeling generous. It’s just a preset rate according to the time the job takes. So your charge isn’t really to cover what was used on your job, rather to cover everything they use at the shop. There may be a job that uses all the shop supplies and one that uses none, and they’ll both be charged the same rate according to the job.
I had the same issue with a 2012 Chrysler 300 limited. I ordered a “compatible” replacement from RockAuto and it did the same thing, sprayed barely half the window because the angle was wrong. I had to go to the dealer to get the correct nozzle. Maybe the nozzle they installed was the wrong part?
I’m gonna have to check my 2023 Trd Sport when I get home.
My 2023 SR5 Taco has no issues
Shop supply fee was your lunch 😂
problem is all dealerships have that and most only give you burnt coffee and crackers LMAO
Not for Jeff. He's 320lbs , and he doesn't eat a 9$ fruit cup.
@@j.c.doutdoors133 im 350lbs LMAO if your going to make fun of me know the facts, I showed my lunch in the previous video, you like to comment but dont like watching the videos? I hope attempting to make fun of me made your day better I can only assume your life sucks big time...
@@cutlerylover did I say 350 lbs Jeff? No, I said 320
@cutlerylover I'm one of about 3 people that actually cares about you enough to remind you yo get Weight Loss Surgery every year now for 5 years. You have every excuse. All I and a few others want is for you to live long , be healthy, and see yourself grow old.
Did they get you the right nozzle? There are 3 different choices for your truck 0 degree +2 degree or -2 degreee. I would say that is why the spray is hitting the cowl, the angle of the nozzle is wrong.
I was wondering if there was some blockage in the tube & they didn't flush the line. I'd try an after market OEM like a Dorman nozzle to see if it works!
Would swapping the left nozzle with the right nozzle make a difference? Flushing the water lines with hot water could help if there was still an antifreeze residue still inside, changing the pressure of the washer fluid. Outside of slightly bending the nozzle once it was slightly heated seems probably a bit risky. Small things can bother anyone, a mosquito is pretty small, right? 🤣
I have a car still under warranty (as far as i know) ..and once it is no longer under warranty, I will never take it back to the dealership for any work. I'm only doing it now so that both me and them, have full maintenance records so they can't pull some crap and try to void the warranty. A local garage charges like 70/hr and they do good work. The dealership is 30 minutes away, charge about 150/hr and the last time I was there, the girl who handled my bill was extremely rude.
Take a needle or sturdy bit of wire, on the end of the nozzle there are one or 2 tiny holes, you can use said needle to adjust the angle of spray and clean out any debris
It looks like it isn't adjustable but it is
Oh and a little movement goes a loooong way
its brand new there is no debri
@@cutlerylover what he's saying is each of the little sprayer nozzles/jets are adjustable. By putting a needle in the hole you can move the position of the nozzle/jet. At least this is the way it worked on many of the cars I've owned. YMMV. Search youtube for "Toyota How To Windshield Washer Jets, Sprayers, Nozzles"
@@cutlerylover the jets/nozzles/sprayers can be adjusted in terms of the direction they spray using a needle or pin.
It's the T fitting that connects all the hoses together between the 2 nozzles under the hood
how would that T fitting change the angle of the spray on only one side on 2 different nozzles?
If the part is the same on both sides and not indigenous to each side, pull the part off the driver’s side and see if the same problem occurs.
It's not just a t fitting it's also a one-way valve built in
That’s extortion Jeff. Take a pin, put it in the nozzle and tilt the little ball up until it’s directed to where you want it.
I’ve got a shed load of nozzles somewhere, I’ll dig one out and do you a demo if you need me too.
their are also a few different styles that look like they'd fit.
Maybe you can make a home made spacer or something to change the angle of it !
Shop supplies topped off washer fluid use a 1/4 of a bottle you get charged for the whole bottle. The new nozzle is bad out of the package take it back till you get a good one.
yes they do "top off? the fluid so theres that
The $9 is the wear and tear on the screwdriver used to pop it out :)
lol
Everyone knows it's at least 20 bucks worth of labor to pop the hood as well.
It would bug me to no end. Not even that it doesn't work at this point, I'd be more infuriated that they didn't check it to make sure it works when they fixed it.
Would drive me nuts! Get an early appointment that way management will be there and make them verify it’s fixed. Time is money and no one wants to sit and wait while they’re vehicle is being worked on a second time unnecessarily
It can be fixed. Hold them to it
if you think car dealership invoices are crazy, just wait until you look at the receipt in the hospital after having a baby
What a pain and complete inconvenience, that shop supply fee it so greasey, best of luck. hopefully you can figure out a way to fix it yourself
Run a fine pin through it or buy another nozzle from another car that can fit
Take a pin or needle and move the little nossel where u want it to spray. They are adjustable
They charge Toyota for this fix if it is under warranty, no wonder why the bill is so high, nobody would actually pay this.
Isn't the nozzle adjustable? Some nozzles can be adjusted by sticking a needle into the nozzle and adjust the angle a bit. I guess if this was thei ssue the dealership would have done so tho.
It should work perfectly, especially since Toyota has a reputation that their stuff work.
dude youre lucky they only charged you that. I've never known a garage or any tradesman to even speak a word to you without expecting at least $1k.
They might as well call it “the morning McDonald’s breakfast fee.
Might be the washer pump itself. I believe that one is further down the line and might not be getting enough flow to spray a proper pattern. You can put your finger over the other one while your wife sprays it to test that theory
They just put the wrong angle nozzle on there. The tech didn't look at the mark of the other nozzle to get the right angle of the squirter orifice. There is a 0 degree +2 degree or - 2 degree.
thank you that's why Im reading online on the forums, I find it strange the angles can be that different across different models its suppose to be an OEM nozzle for a 3rd gen tacomas but who knows how many toyota nozzles all fit the same spot...Ill bring this up to them hopefully they order all the options and figure out which one works lol
@@cutlerylover
I work at a dealership and when someone needs to get a squirter nozzle for the washer I have to go out and look at the good nozzle to see which one needs to be ordered. 1/2 the time the customer doesn't have the vehicle with them and the vin doesn't say witch one is on there, we just get a chart that shows the markings on the nozzle.
3rd gen 2021. Don’t have that issue
I have a 23 and its not a problem on them either lol the dealership only said one other person is having an issue with this so its not common
They have a cafe in their dealership. What did you expect? I left the insurance industry because of stuff like this.
well this si the same for dealerships with no cafe so its not unusual
It would annoy me as well man. One of those things with cats that never gets fixed. That’s what happens with cars. There is always something that lingers around.
I wouldn't of left till it was done properly and for free as its under warranty, don't go dealers they just rip u of ,if they truly care about your custom and future custom they'd of done it no charge
Shop Supply Fee= Paying for those Snap-On tools.
I'm betting you can adjust the metal spray tip inside the nozzle.
@@jacobpoucher lol, nothin' but for $3, it doesn't hurt to try
Shop fee was your “free” food and drink charge.
I've learned nothing is easy ! Good luck.
Jeff, learn to fix these minor things on your own or make sure it's under warranty. You're always getting fleeced because you're not prepared.
I can see you getting another vehicle very soon. You are very indecision, and you'll get a new vehicle. Rememver the Charger? Lol 😆 🤣
lol obviously you dont remember it I never owned a charger, this problem has literally nothing to do with being prepared and it was looked at under warranty, and I plan on letting them look at it again maybe the truck needs a new hood or they have to check multiple nozzles until one works...who knows...but this isnt something I can fix on my own from what everyone knows about the situation....watch the whole videos if you want to know whats going on with it then watch the previous video on it...
@@cutlerylover my apologies. A Challenger
Hell with that if I had to actually pay for it myself for that much money I'd stay the full hour they charged me for because that's free money to them getting another one in while already being up for the hour and if they raise hell of it put your keys in your pocket lock the truck put on emergency brake and go to the bathroom with a stomach ache for about 45 to 50 minutes... lmao 😂😂💩💩🤭🙄😉🤷🏻♂️
I call it the bone ya fee. So 200 plus bucks and it’s still not working properly.
Once more try one or the other jeff ☠️☠️ 12pellet 00 or 27pellet 4 buck
You need to learn how to fix small things on your own . The days of good service are Over
if they are charging 200+ dollars, they better do their jobs. this is a scam of some kind. pretend to make the repair and charge the company without fixing anything. i would report this to corporate, i'm sure they want to know where that 200 dollar charge comes from.
I bought some aftermarket ones well see how they work if they dont do it for me Im planning on goin back to have them continue to work on the issue until its fixed its under warranty so well see what they do...Its a shame I had the days last appointment I would have gone back in and had them explain to me why they had the truck for more than an hour and the problem is literaly exactly the same lol
@@cutlerylover you should at least break their balls about it. dont let them off the hook. you might void the warranty by trying to fix this yourself.
yer not scared of china....you shoulda just bought the piece for $4 off aliexpres and installed it yourself.
people have said the aftermarkets suck even when working properly lol so thats not a good option for me...
it's Toyota problem make them fix it or pay for someone else to fix it.
