pinkginger09 The waste at the bottom is the sludge that will settle to the bottom of the thickener tank. This is then pumped away from the thickener to a filter press / centrifuge or simply sent to waste storage ponds.
I must have bought the wrong floc for my pool. I tried some and 24 hrs later no change. This took what... 20 seconds to clear that to sludge at the bottom!
Hi, i have really loved this video. I would like to do a project on treatment of leachete coming from a land fill in my country i Africa( Before the leachate is allowed safely to enter into a water body ) using the easiest and cheap material(coagulant). Could you please advise me on which coagulant i could use besides, Alum? Thanks so much. Waiting for your reply.
+Clairine angelica the specification of the flocculent will depend on the nature of the material being treated and this is assessed on a project by project basis. In this instance the flocculent is in powder form and is mixed with water in our FlocStaion plant to the desired concentration that will ensure maximum settlement of the solid particles. There are numerous different flocculent's that are used.
Hi Sham, our solution uses a polyelectrolyte for settling solids from the process water, there are many types and simple testing is needed to ensure the correct one is used for each application. Please contact us at info@cdegroup.com for further information. Thanks, CDE Group
Hi Rim, Flocculant causes the particles to flocculate or clump together. It can be considered a ‘high-tech rope’ which ties in the particles together. This increases the particle size and helps them to settle faster.

Hi Narendra - I'd suggest that you contact SNF who supply the flocculent for this plant. They are best placed to advise on the correct chemical for your application.

Is there such things as an anti-flocculant that will allow me to use the a storage tank for potable water after a flocculant was in it?
I think rinsing it with regular tap water is fine. Treated drinking water has flocculant added in the sterilisation process anyway
@sarahisnorm The floc we are using here is polyelectrolyte
Hi Peter , I wonder can Lime (Calcium Hydroxide or Ca(OH)2 ) does the same effect? Thanks
Which chemical are u used??

Whats the chemistry behind flocculant?

Flocculant causes the particles to flocculate or clump together. It can be considered a ‘high-tech rope’ which ties in the particles together. This increases the particle size and helps them to settle faster.

Stpshane1 - if you search google for 'flocculant suppliers' in whatever country you are located in it will show you details of your local suppliers
So what do you do with the wast on the bottom?
Filter it out i guess
Vacuum it
Eat it, or put it through a sieve whatever works.
Are sugarcane juice scam remove by this chemical?

I came to see **HOW** flocculants work. Not that they work.
