@@rubyait It's wonderful. They use the large levers to control the signals. Biggest working mechanical box in the UK, I believe. I visited it in 1982/83 with my college railway club and had a guided tour. At that time all the announcements for Shrewsbury station originated in the signal box. They used pre-recorded announcements on, I think, Spotmaster cart machines.
@@rubyait I had to go to Liverpool from Wellington via Shrewsbury and Chester today, which includes using the Liverpool underground railway, which goes under the River Mersey. Great fun. I make that journey once or twice a week for business reasons. Glad my reply was of help to you.
