- In this video I show how I achieved a DIY DevaCut with bangs on Natural Hair. I decided to go this route after receiving a quote of over $200 from a curly hair stylist just to cut & trim my hair. Being on a budget that isn't something that I was willing to pay at this time. So I decided to give it a try and it turned out great! Follow along with me as I attempt and achieve great results cutting my hair the "DevaCut" way by cutting each individual curl on dry hair.
Products used in this video are: Coconut Oil, Curls Lavish Curls Moisturizer & Argan Eco Styler Gel.

I did this cut years ago when I had a perm in,didn't know it's called a deva cut. I was frustrated so I kept cutting,then I started liking it. I continued until I felt the love. My hair was pretty short after the cut. I had short bangs,but everything looked great.

omg!! The cut looked fab at the end...just the fringe made a huge difference! I think im going to go get out my sissors out! I liked the length of the fridge so you can always just flip it to the side of you get bored with it :)

Awesome Job!!!! Love it. Keep searching if you want someone to cut it for you. I drive 40-50 min. to the girl that cuts my hair. She is amazing, and it only cost me $50. But you did an amazing job yourself so save your money to repurchase your favorite products.

I agree I receive a similar price quote. way too much money. I had layers done in September but I felt I needed more volume and layers so yup like you I did my own deva home cut. lol nicely done 🙌

Tia Kirby I found other salons that have deva certified stylist and I think they may be a lot cheaper than actually going to a official deva salon. I may try that once I get more length. if you go pls post your experience.

+Tia Kirby You're very welcome! I like it but I'm still adjusting to the cut and the bangs. It's much shorter than I though it was. I was at waist length now I'm not even close but I know it will grow back.
I completely feel ya... I love my bangs but quickly got over them. LOL I'm now focusing on getting back to waist length and hopefully surpassing it as well. I guess we both have to be patient, consistent and we should be back where we started before the cut soon!

I love your curly hair it’s so beautiful reminds me of my also I love that you did a deva curl hair cut your self you saved a lot of money they are amazing at deva curl don’t get me wrong but it cost like over 100 dollars to go there and have them cut it shampoo conditioner and blow dry and style that why I only go if I go once a year the rest of the year do it my self I loved how your hair turned out too it’s looks amazing and healthy looking too you did an awesome job 👍😊✋

that looks pretty good, being a stylist, i can always seem too spot bits that have been missed, but thats only because I'm trained XD i imagine, a very loose ponytail with a scrunchie(not a hair band/elastic, scrunchies are big and fluffy!)pulled upper your head like a pinappe would produce the same effect

+Tia Kirby Its been going really well. I got my first protective style in May and it was the faux locs which gave my hair a jump start when it came to growth. Since then I've been doing twist outs, twist and curl, etc. I also got a silk press for my sweet 16. it's a lot of changes in my life but I'm enjoying it and I'm aiming for this November so that it'll be a year of transitioning. I sub btw!

Lol! Girl, I was so happy it turned out well. I did NOT want to pay $200. They of course offer them cheaper but I have seen so many bad "deva cuts" from so called "deva trained" stylists.
