Okay Ima let them cook!
In Whiskey Peak, Zoro says we was invited before but he refused.
@@bcool9272oda confirmed at a convention that zoro killed the previous mister 7 (as opposed to the mr 7 in alabasta) before the events of the first episode of the anime
Not to sound like an oda simp
They literally over cooked Nojiko 😂.
MAKE A WANO REVIEW
Roshi’s expressions at the start of the episode were hilarious because you could tell he was starting to open up but was still kind of skeptical 😂😂
100 percent
These are the same guys who made the Cowboy Bebop live action. Honestly, I can't blame him for being skeptical XD.

@@masterDarts4188Is it the same people or youre just referring to netflix in general?
@@lol-ot4pn same studio too
They really did this show justice, it's actually not bad at all. Very happy pirates here
The happiness is contagious
W mans luffy
Wait til they see the villians they look like they came straight from the anime
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Zoro never called himself a pirate hunter in the anime. He states as much in the anime.
you can tell they had fun making this show.
@@OhyeahMrKrabza perfect person. I wanna worship u
27:07 Roshi noticed the earrings.. Yup. Mackenyu(Zoro) said the earrings got ripped out during one of the action sequences, and he bled *a lot.* This is why he's only wearing one during this scene. His ear hasn't healed yet.
Oda really looked down their necks during most of the production and it came out so great
Need more authors to look over everything like this fr
The director is a fan of the anime/manga he wanted it to me close as possible.
@@cbascombI wonder who is the one that wanted to include romance and Garp.
@@cbascomb Thats all well and good but its usually not the director who makes fundamental changes to stories in adaptation, its producers that want that nice writing credit and pad their resume(and pay check). Thats why its important to have a clause in contracts that the author can give a hard no to something.
@squallleonbart1200 apparently someone wanted to have an underlying threat for the main crew. I meam it isnt that bad since its just water 7 content pushed waaay forward, im still on the fence about garp tho. Actor's great, but the direction is waay off from the anime and manga.
@@In-The-Zonegood damn thing then that Matt Owens (the producer) was as big a fan
“King of the Pirates!”
“Stfu!”

Wow. Timestamp?

audibly cheered when I saw it! And between Roshi getting the actor wrong and the "fifty years" incident in Frieren, she's already got two clips ready to go. :)
Baroque Works are the enemy organization for season 2 hunting the Straw Hats
@@goldievox The way I watched those two reaction vids in succession.
I loved that detail of Baroque Works. Zoro did say in Whiskey Peak that the organization tried to recruit him and he refused cuz he couldn't be no 1😆
yeah we never got that fight, it was referenced so it was a chefs kiss to us fans.
also in the SBS Oda did a little doodle on what he would look like and it's basically that. Spike mohawk with a 7 on the face with swords.
he mentioned it passively in alabasta as well :D
Its funny to think that Zoro probably would’ve been able to be No 1 if mr.0 knew more about him. 😅
@@BaeBunni When this scene was pitched to Oda to introduce Zoro, Oda went back and made a full concept art sketch of Mr. 7, to give the live action a full design to go off of.
The Zoro scene was mentioned in Alabasta. He said they tried to get him into Barockworks
barack obama - the leader
Broke-works
He killed Mr.7 off screen I think
Akshually it was mentioned in Whisky Peak.
@@giornogiostar3214as I remember, it was mentioned both in Whisky Peak and Alabasta. My brain is still freshed because I'm just starting to watch the anime and I'm about to finished Post-Alabasta arc.
Mackenyu, who plays Zoro, is the son of martial arts legend Sonny Chiba who played Hattori Hanzo in Kill Bill! He's an absolute legend and paved the way for guys like Bruce Lee to showcase their skills to a larger audience! Safe to say that Mackenyu comes from some serious martial arts pedigree and he actually had to slow down his swordsmanship in Zoro's fight scenes so the other stunt doubles and actors could keep up.
if you want to watch his fast swordplay, watch Rurouni Kenshin last movie final fight, that's him, Enishi.
In middle school, Mackenyu managed to get 3rd place in US Kyokushin Karate (full-contact) National Championship.
I agree that he had to slow down in OPLA coz damn his fight scenes in Rurouni Kenshin were hella fast!!
I'd say he comes from a straight up dynasty of martial artists
I’m actually liking how this adaptation is going so far. It’s doing its own iteration while also maintaining the core heart of the series
Even OP fans don't exactly know what's gonna happen.
yeah I really like the changes that improve but don't take over, like in the final episode Nami going with the crew, I understand the moment was about how loyal the straw hats were to their members but having her not be in the final fight of her arc always seemed kinda weird and annoyed me, like imagine Ace not doing anything at marineford, an arc, like Arlong park, that is built around one character
@@gorb688 I mean to be fair, nami compared to arlong and his guys.....niggas were whole super-powered fishmen....but I get what you're saying. It's like you build up this arc about a character being tortured by this villain and when that villain is about to meet his end, the tortured character is nowhere to be found to exact their revenge.
Of all the villains they did in this show, their Buggy adaptation was my fav for sure
Buggy gained a cult following from new and old OP fans, which is crazy considering nobody was a fan of his first look from the teasers
Tbh Buggy is the GOAT so if he didn't get a good adaptation that would have sucked lmao
@@fraker12 it's what charismatic acting can do
Kuro and arlong were good too
@fraker12 that's such a buggy thing to do. Everyone initially thinking he's lame and later he's like this huge big deal😂
About Zoro and Mr. 7, I'm pretty sure Zoro mentions during the Whisky Peak arc that they had tried to recruit him before he met Luffy and the others, so I thought it was cool how they showed that in the episode, probably to use it as a call-back in later seasons. Loved the reaction as always!!
The only mention of Mr. 7 is pretty much a doodle Oda did of him on a napkin and somehow they managed to adapt him right from that doodle. Look up what he looks like it’s actually pretty crazy that they adapted him lol
In Alabasta too
@@ben123zzz6 In Alabasta is another Mr. 7
We want Sheera's opinion about it at the end, since she has never seen OP before it's good to hear her thoughts about it
Agreed, she’s basically the target audience for this.
She's not f with luffy. In ep 2 & 3 she's really annoyed by luffy 🥴
@@cicaksalto152Luffy would be annoying irl which makes sense lol
@@cicaksalto152oh well Luffy is different and extremely positive person with his goals and stuff...I'm sure she will like him further on!

This is one of the best live action adaptations of anything I've ever seen. It's perfect. I'll admit when they broke the curse, I cried a little.

honestly romance LAs are basically the only ones that turn out more good than bad on average
THe Rurouni Kenshin one is still the best, this is my new 2nd. You should watch the Moribito live actions though, it[s pretty well done.
@@YogripperI try watching the anime but it was boring. How many episodes does it take to get interesting? I'm taking about kenshin
This is far from perfect.
Koby got such an upgrade, he’s so fine in this😭
Also Nami was so much more bearable in this, I hope she stays this way, pretty much every character either got a upgrade in either looks or personality imo
@@MagicalPangoliinFR, sanji was UPGRADEDD
Without knowing who the actor was prior to seeing the whole show, i also thought like Sheera that he's too pretty. LOL. But besides the physical aspect, Koby really did have an upgrade character-wise. Less annoying and more realistically unsure and conflicted.
@@roblue5470 yessss, I love that he isn’t just a pedo without losing that flirty attitude he has. Also he’s fine🌝
@@soulscyther666 yea like I said I feel like the live action has done really well improving character personality without making them lose their essence
Bro, Lupa holding back his knowledge so Sheera doesnt get spoiled is just hillarious to see, lmao😂
11:15 This didn’t take place on either the Manga or the Anime, but Oda stated in an SBS that Mr 7 came to try and recruit Zoro before chapter 1, and they even kept his design to the Goofy ass little doodle Oda did of him!
This was stated in the anime and the manga. In whiskey peak, when Zoro told Mr.8 that he knows they are bounty hunters. He told them that One of them tried recruit them but he killed them. In SBS, people asked who zoro fought and what does he look like, and Oda drew Mr. 7.
I never seen the sketch but that's awesome.
@@joseperez8404it's literally a stick figure with a bunch of sticks coming out of his head and a 7 on his face and they just ran with it LMAO
@_darkkstar_ well that's why this live action doing so well.

Watching Alvida get yeeted off the ship never gets old.
I still can't believe that Koby is being played by that SOB Dani that released all that evil in Evil Dead Rise
🤣
Zorro is played by Sonny Chiba's son, which is partly why all the choreography and movements on his part are on point.
Really happy that they actually put in the work to make practical ships and not just do CGI. They all look amazing.
Ima gon Head and say this, this show is heat. And I can’t wait for them to get to Season 6. Enjoy the journey
This show is one of the best on Netflix, especially since it's a live action, but there is a chance it won't get so far because Netflix is always canceling good shows. Let's just hope they see the hype revolving it and give it the same treatment riverdale got (but doesn't deserve).
@@samoyabarrett7 stranger things lasted long, I think the fandom will keep this one goin. They said they want six seasons. Which is technically up to marineford so that’s be a great stoppin point so jerkin can either think of creating a “new show” to do the rest or stop it there
@@THEMVPS3179 Keeping my fingers crossed. Because it truly deserves the six seasons after it broke the "bad anime live action" curse

Sheera was right Koby is the actor from Evil-Dead. They were the brother that decided to play the cursed vinyl!!!

Fun fact: the actor who plays Kobe here was actually in Evil Dead Rise.
He was the son who stupidly played the vinyl that awakened the Deadites.
Didn't know that. Interesting
Visually, they never showed Zoro killing Number 7, but he did explain facing him when fighting Mr. 1 in Alabasta
The greatest feat of the live action is somehow having 3 sword style not look stupid
It’s actually criminal that Lupa stopped watching One Piece at Water 7. I didn’t know people could drop the show at that arc.
So Lupa dropped the series, what about roshi. Am I getting this right. Roshi said he got to wano, did he also drop the series
NGL im a diehard Anime fan and have been watching for years, watched everything popular and super underground stuff. But still can't stick out OP past like 200 eps

I’m happy they all have different perspectives on One Piece. This is gonna be a good series!🎉
Ive seen some of the interviews with the cast. The guy they got for Luffy is Luffy. The whole cast was also picked by Oda himself.
12:52 it's a quick line, but when they were unloading that box Shanks said to be careful with it, because it was worth more than everything on their ship.
“Why koby look so beautiful “ had me dead 😂😂
This live action was so good it made me start watching the anime. I just passed the ep when luffy defeats Lucci of CP9, mad at myself for not giving this show a chance back in the day.
I would so start bingeing If I only wasn’t drowning in uni work these past couple weeks fml😭

Don’t be mad. I am thankful that I started watching by the time Wano Arc ended.
Roshi's reaction to the gore was my same reaction and gave me more hope for this show 😂
The fight of Zoro in the begining actually happened but they didn't show it in the manga
They only mentioned one of the Barone Works numbers being killed by Zoro in the manga, but i liked how they did it in live action.
It made much more sense.
Never would I have thought One Piece of all series would have this good of a live action. Budget and crew casting are important factors but the involvement of the creator and passion of everyone on this turned it into something really great
Oda had the entire writing staff by the balls for the whole production period and that's why it turned out as the best anime adaptation so far
Nico Robin reference
Judging by interviews and stuff the whole liveaction crew were very passionate about getting it right and figuring out how to solve the story
It's crazy how involved he was. The head set designer even said he had to check in with Oda about whether the One Piece world has electricity or not and Oda actually had to think about it before getting back to him. What an awesome collaboration all over. Just when I thought I can't be surprised, also found out he talked to the Japanese VAs as to how they will dub the live action. Dang. When does this guy sleep?!

the fact that luffy didn't just take one bite and ate the whole damn thing is wild
I love how they decided to shoot this show. Not just as an adaptation, but as an addition to the story; showing stuff that was omitted from the show/manga (Luffy cutting his eye or Zoro _declining_ Mr. 7) and giving fresh perspectives on old scenes (theorized you-know-who being at Roger's sendoff 🐊). Oda really made this the best anime adaptation yet! And it only gets better!
Luffy cutting his eye was shown in the manga but the anime took it out because I guess child violence or something
this one piece live adaptation actually was very good surprisingly
Watching the live action through these reactions and I just have to say I LOVE the detail of shooting some shots like manga panels, like here at 13:24 when they turn to the bottle breaking. It's a really nice attention to detail and I usually only see stuff like this in certain live action (super)hero movies or shows where they're trying to mimic the feel or shots of a comic. It's honestly fun to see it here in the One Piece live action!! It feels more tied together because of it to me, I can't wait to watch the rest :)
Been waiting for Yaboy D. Roshi to drop this🔥🔥

Finally a live action show based on anime that was actually good
Its literally a live action ANIME. All the cheesiness, hype, emotional moments are there which is why I think it was successful. They didn't try to make it realistic.
"minority hunter" killed me hahahahaha, the jokes always on point.
although the Live Action changes tons of things (it IS and adaptation after all) i still found it super fun to watch
i hope y'all enjoy it too!
Indeed! Also, the stuff that gets added or changed usually makes sense in light of what appears later in the manga.
It doesn't feel like it is stuff added because they wanted to change the story, but more like a different take on how events *could* have played out in the same universe. At least, to me.
I thought that only the Nami story suffered a bit.
@@DocteurNS yeah like mihawk actually just destroying the entire krieg fleet makes sense, it's within reasonable expectation
@@senhowler yeah it did suffer a little bit but Emily did and incredible job as Nami through the entire season
With Oda heavily involved in this, I actually welcome every change, especially how they include stuff that was only talked about in the manga but not shown like the Zoro vs #7 fight
Zoro mentioned at Whiskey Peak that BW had tried to recruit him and he took one of them out. Oda later elaborated in a SBS that is was Mr. 7 and Zoro killed him after refusing to join unless they named him Mr. 1. The only known image of Mr. 7 is a messy SBS doodle of his head and upper body and the live action copied it exactly. Shows the crazy level of knowledge the show runners have as most OP fans don't even know this.
I've only watched season 1 of the one piece anime, and that was about 15 years ago LOL. So when I watched the live action, it was such a nostalgic experience for me. As I continued watching, I just got more invested and loved the cast a lot until the end of season 1. Now whenever I picture the anime characters, the live action cast will always be their perfect counterpart. You guys are in for an awesome adventure! 💯
the shoes are probably the funniest bit in this entire show, every time i notice them i just lose it
the best story ever read or watch .
"why let him speak ?" look how they speak together , they have some respect for each other , we see more in future seasons .
12:12 I mean Zoro is called the "minority hunter" for a reason.
Oda held a gun to Netflix's head making sure they stuck to what HE WANTED. Cus never forget this series was made by the same ones that did Cowboy Bebop Live action
Morgan Davies plays Koby and yes he was in Evil Dead Rise. 👌

So glad you guys finally reacted to this! You guys are one of my fave reactors so seeing this is worth the wait! I hope you guys enjoy it.
Woah let’s go, I’m excited for this series
Fun fact the writers were asking Oda things about Zoro because they wanted to have a fight scene as part of his introduction. So Oda actually went “well it has been in the back of my mind but never put in the manga but he did have a fight with someone who wanted to recruit him for Baroque Works, Mr 7. They loved the idea and Oda even drew out what Mr. 7 looked like even though he was never seen in the manga or anime.
26:45 THIS EDITOR MAN 😭
They did a good job with the actors for the cast;you can see Mackenyu knows how to fight with swords and you will see Taz Skylar (Sanji's actor) learned how to cook and fight like Sanji
Also, I am curious what Shura's thoughts are, since she is new to One Piece. Would love to hear more from her after the episode. :)
This is actually the 2nd time Langley Kirkwood has played a psycho Marine! Before he was Buckley in “Warrior”, he was on “Banshee” as Col. Stowe, one of the more formidable villains.
12:12 finally the joke of "Minority Hunter Zoro" is here 👏🏿
Also I had no idea Zoro's actor is the son of Sonny Chiba, famous japanese action star from back in the day that was in the Kill Bill movies.
The fact that Mr7 is black and Zoro is the "Minority Hunter" , to me shows that the cast and crew and everyone who had a hand in making this are fans
Ahhhh!!! These are yells of excitement. I'm so happy all of yall are here to react to this 🥳🥳🥳
It's so good cause the directors had Oda involved in like, every step. Of course there are some decisions i've heard he doesn't like, but overall it's fantastic
I miss y'all, it's been a while since I watched your videos, "TLOU" was last thing I saw I guess... It's good to be back ❤ Much love
Huh, I forgot they hadn’t reacted to it, I’m happy though. I discovered Roshi through his one piece videos, I remember wondering what had happened to him after I didn’t see any of his videos for a while, then they returned and ever since I’ve seen possibly the most effort put into a reaction channel ever. Always a joy to see them.
Also please do 100 girlfriends, I need to see them loose their minds
what happened to him back then?
“it’s tooo laaaaattteee” bout killed me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the guy that Zoro cut in half, Number 7, is mentioned in the anime & manga I think where Zoro was talking about his encounter. They just brought it to life which was super dope!
Zoro killing the former number 7 actually did happen according to Oda. He just never added it in but it was part of his story in his head. Zoro being strung up was because of the girl from the bar but in the manga it was due to helmeppo shooting her dog and getting ready to shoot her before Zoro stepped in and they arrested him.
Y’all must’ve heard me yelling all the way from my crib for y’all to react to this🥳😂 I think its really good and its fun seeing the cast outside of the anime too.

it is SO COOL to see you guys something stuff that's one piece related. greatest story ever told yall (manga/anime at least). HYPE
Keep in mind it's not gonna be a simple 1for1 adaption of the manga or even the anime. So don't be expecting that lol. Regardless it's still very good live action that Oda himself approved of and played a major role
I can't believe Morgan was Buckley from Warrior 🤯
I give it a 6/10 bc as u keep watching, there are some ep kind of remove some important character in the show!
This comment makes no sense lmao, this show is a adaptation of the manga lol, if u wanna watch one piece with every character in it maybe idk watch the manga?
@@blinktwice4541 lol? did u even watch the show???? They miss alot of important characters for the future detail of the series. Where Hachi who suppose to battle Zoro. Where the priates of the Black cat crew and the three children who always hang out with Usopp. There are the some other characters. But at least they did a good job of making it quick show. 6/10
Well, remind that it is a live-show, they definitely will kill some detail and change little bit...
7/10 for me. Because the live-show is more excited and joyful. But the anime or manga is more sad, epic and more emotional. But at least they did a good job.
@asian123205 I did lmao and the pacing is way better than the anime. Like I said it's a adaptation so ofc their going to change a few things, and the important details they missed aren't that bad, they can be addressed in season 2.
New fan here! Also saw the Evil Dead Rise video of yours today and couldn’t stop laughing. The gaslighting and realization Danny and Koby are the same actor 😂 Can’t wait to see the rest of your reactions to this show
Where is jujutsu kaisen
They made this so much fun my respecting the source material and keeping the heart of One Piece in it. Love it.
Zoro was recruited by baroque works in the manga/anime but it was just mentioned not shown.
In fact, the fight against Mister 7 actually happened. Zorro simply mentioned this in the anime in the fight against another Baroque Works agent in Alabasta/ or in englisch Arabasta ^^ and the Mister 7 from the live action is based on a drawing by Oda from the title stories of the manga
@YaBoyRoshi Iñaki Godoy the actor who plays Luffey is the glue or the magic ingredient to this live action series that makes it work! He is so charismatic and endearing that it just works when delivering cheesy or annoying lines somehow he manages to pull it off.
Roshi i have to say the production, just keeps getting higher.....such a high quality video. I wish all UA-cam videos had this kind of quality.
The Mr. 7 fight was a reference to a backstory line by Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger in the Alabasta arc, how they recognize Zoro as the guy they tried to recruit, and how Zoro killed their previous member.
Lupa’s “What in the Mask?!” comment is kinda funny in hindsight considering:
1.) what we learn about Luffy’s fruit later down the line.
2.) the fact that Oda is a huge fan of Jim Carrey, to the point that 2 (3) of his characters are direct shoutouts to Carrey’s most famous film roles from the peak of his career during the 90s.
