@@brianb99 because you claimed republicans are big government this is absolutely not true the right is known specifically either loved or hated for it on the fact they want to decrease government regulations decrease size scope and powers of the government to turn them to the states as they should be and the left wishes to increase federal power provide special benefits like legal immunity for government employees in certain fields expanding size budget and scope of the government increasing regulations without allowing people to decide for themselves if its in their best interest they also greatly enjoy increasing the number of people reliant on government aid or federal funding as it means they have a permenant voter base where as republicans wish to reduce number of people reliant on government aid or help to increase individual independence via solutions such as helping to assist in education and rehabilitation providing temporary free housing as long as they are actively looking for a job or seeking treatment so they can be employed they also offer a variety of other things to help people better take care of themselves and to make sure in a emergency they can live a happy life

@Brian Burkett the difference between left and right is a scale of government influence on the public. The farther left you the bigger the government gets. Communism is the farthest to the left you can go. That is big government controlling all aspects of your life. The farther right you go. The government gets less influential in people's lives. And the farthest to the right is no government at all. Aka no rule of law. It's not irony... that paradigm scale has been in America politics since the founding.....
There is a reason why the left pushes for more taxation, and government aid. While the right doesn't want to push more bigger government spending plans....
The left is for bigger government control.
There is a reason why tesla left a blue states for a red state. Less taxes and government regulations!
The philosophy of the right is individual right. The philosophy of the left is the majority rules.

It's a good question. I used to think we should all be anarchists but we need a form of social enforcement. A lot of people don't know much so I do think this is necessary. Social Media is like the whole world, I wouldn't want my kids or any kid watching everything possible without having the time to process it. Kids need a guide or else these kids can die pretty quickly to philosophies. Life is a gift we should treasure depending on how we view it, I'm Christian.

I would be behind that depending on the definition of “social media.” I don’t think any public online forum or message board is bad, just the ones interested in psychologically manipulating people by algorithms designed to addict and selling user data to marketers. But all that is vague and I lack confidence in legislators, who may be well-meaning, to be able to delineate what kind of a site is okay vs what isn’t. It’s too easy for that to just become blanket censorship if too broad, or easily circumvented if too narrow.

Who’s going to decide what is “educational” content? We’ve reached a point in society where certain school districts cannot even tell if “slavery has its upsides” belongs in a curriculum on the Civil War era or whether books about girls becoming boys and vice versa have a place in elementary school. This is the post-truth era where the (ex)POTUS can just blatantly lie very obvious and easily disproven lies about a stolen election, and somehow half the country still believes him. So if nobody in the country can even agree on the objective truth anymore, how do you expect a government entity to remain unbiased in filtering out lies and bias? They might view their partisan politics as “educational fact” while censoring actual facts that contradict their ideology.
